He means 4.1.2 not 4.2.1
@OP Possible sure, but it is alot of work to make it work on the N4.
Why do you want to downgrade?

I knew I'd get a sensible answer eventually lol. Was just curious to see if some of the bugs we are facing on 4.2.1 were to dissapear with 4.1.2
I had a funny feeling it would be a lot of work involved. Oh well. Cheers
I've wondered this myself. I know xda is all about having the latest and greatest, but on my gnex 4.1.1/4.1.2 were absolutely perfect. it was super smooth, everything worked and there was no crazy battery drain issues. 4.2 seems rushed, hopefully they'll sort it out in the next update

The most pressing bugs are in the kernel so even if the ROM gets ported they will persist.
You can try flashing an old rom on the new kernel and see what happens.
Someone got Gingerbread with a Jelly Bean kernel running on his Nexus 7.
It's definitely possible, but will probably include some work.

And there will be no official 4.2
I think 4.2 and 4.2.1 have lots of nice new features (like the quick settings tiles in the notification bar) but under the hood, it's a gigantic piece of sh!t, it seems. I've never seen my NS4G chew through the battery so fast in my life!!! Leaving mobile data enabled is a sure death-sentence for the battery in a matter of hours, even if it's in sleep mode!!

Still early, it keeps getting better and better everyday! I am running DaxMax's Xylon 4.2.1 on my Galaxy Nexus and it is by far the best Android I have had to date! All this negative talk has a lot to do with certain Mod's and certain Gapps people are trying to run with 4.2.1 that breaks things and are not compatible. There is a lot of dirty flashing and ignorance contributing to this gossip about 4.2.1 being a disaster. The first time I flashed it I hated it and directly went back to 4.1.2 thinking I would wait til it is complete but the second time I flashed it I am convinced I will not be looking back!
I'm happy running 4.2... Its issues that were also common in 4.0/4.1 when they were first introduced. There are some great people working on it, so I imagine it'll get better soon.

EDIT: It's alive!! And it's working beautifully! I don't know what error it is you're talking about. This is nice!
Just a tip to fellow flashers though: you need to flash separate camera and keyboard zips (but only if you use gesture typing), and superSU. Other than that, solid man, just solid.

That was dropped eons ago though. fuzz used to maintain crespo cm7 if I'm not mistaken, and although gearhead could always be nice and maintain it, I don't believe there's any point.

Mako is Nexus 4. I would say do a full wipe and fresh install of your preferred ROM or just revert to stock for a bit.

He kind of just told you what model you have, its definitely Mako. Other details can be found settings -> about. Another place I remember confirming when I had a similar question to yours was in the google maps app also in settings -> about. Hope that helps.
Lol, only flash a ROM from the Nexus 4 forums. That should keep you safe.

AOKP is good but if you are even a mild power user you will find your phone sitting around 30% by the 3oclock range (just my personal experience)
ParanoidAndroid 2.99 beta is where i have landed and i have no plans on turning away in the near future. Battery life was much more efficient i found and tons of customization can turn your phone into something defferent everyday.

That is a kernel issue, just flash francos after installing AOKP and battery life is great, actually I don't know if AOKP switched to a different kernel or maybe they are using francos now but I didn't even bother flashing francos when I reinstalled AOKP build 2 and the battery has been great.
At least we have it ENJOY
