Well it's been quite a ride with the old X10. I've seen many changes come and go since the phone arrived with Android 1.6, some good, some better, some totally awesome.
But....... There comes a time for change and like I've moved on from the HTC Dream and HTC Magic, it's time to move on from the X10. I've picked up the Galaxy Nexus and I'll be moving over to the Nexus forms.
I'd like to thank everyone, especially all our awesome developers, for all the time and effort that you've all put into making this forum ones of the most interesting places on XDA.

Good luck mate and thanks for everything you did for us over here.
Do not be a stranger and pop by to say hi now and again, also let us know how you are getting on with your Nexus.
All the best Colossus.

I would like to thank all of you that help keep my Vibrant new and awesome. I'm glad there are people like you who enjoy this and share your work with us. Since joining here I have become a flashoholic on my and my wife's phones. Keep up the good work!

+1 this phone would be no where without the devs, no ics, no GB which means we would all be stuck in froyo right now haha. Thanks devs

This phone would have died, the devs were even responsible for an increase in sells

Very true statement iwillkillyou, instead of becoming a dead device people are now willing to spend double the amount that was originally spent on it! All thanks to our amazing devs!
+1
My G1, Vibrant, and Nook all have custom roms. Thanks Devs.
Hello all X8 users, I have something to say to you.
I have been on the X8 section and testing rom when Ratch and Doixanh almost was the only devs, and we was happy about the "Sense" roms with just basic functionality.
But in August 2011 weve got roms wirh working camera and everything.
But now everything is changed, we have more less developers which is quite sad, because more users are buting new phones right now.
Some of the best devs like Doixanh has left us, bu there is still hope from devs like nAa.
But now its time for me to leave you, and buy Arc S In about 20-25 days.
I will always remember all the fun I had with my X8 and all the great roms and modules.
I think Its quite sad to leave you, but the X8 has just to bad size of the ram for me.
But overall X8 is quite a nice phone, and I think it has the best speaker ever. My buddy has Sensation XL and he thinks X8 has better sound then hes XE.
I like the screen too, really good resolution, but I hate that I have Synaptic.
But how many of you are left, and when are you gonna buy something new?

Well...i'll see u in arc section later and i hope u will develop for arc s as well with ICS coming in 1-2 weeks more

I never joined the forum but i used to visit it since march. That was the time we had floyo from racht and minicm form nAa and ponovon with pretty much eveything working.
that was pretty hard time. Now the development is quite stable.we have paul and nAa left(Ill be dev someday, when ill grow up )
I will remain in this forum till october...
I'll be on the x8 forums til October or December, unsure where I'll go.

It is a sad day where a dev like you are leaving XDA X8 section, but your contributions were of high value and hopefully you will keep visiting us.
well all i can say is thanks for everything you have done
but i will stay here as long as my x8 is working. then probably buy Xperia S, P, U or sola...
Bro dont go...read my PM
Good Luck !
The most pathetic thing for me in this community is, when there are people who will be leaving this community, especially people like you.
But I must accept it, And Good Luck, Oyeah! dont forget to visit us here when you have a free time Dude!
But how many of you are left, and when are you gonna buy something new?

I will buy something other, when my xperia will be broken... for now o have it like for 1,5 yrs and its still OK so much people say that touchscreens are bad because they are broken really quickly. But not for me every phone in my life i had like for 6 months - to a 1 year and it was broken. Now i have my lovely x8 for 1,5 yrs, and i dont see any sign that it will be broken in near time so i will not buy any other phone untill my x8 is working

You are the choosen one! Keep up the good work brother!!
x8 is a great device started by running android 1.6(donut) and it's still working with android 2.3(gingerbread) maybe fully function with v4(ICS) in next few months. What's a great device! But it was built for v1.6(cpu 600mhz but dev make it be able to overclock to more than 700mhz, ram 256 but 184 accessible) so i have to say that newer device can run smoother as they were built for newer version. Anw X8 is my first android phone and it's a great device to me!

I have an upgrade coming soon and I'm in no rush cause I'm waiting for the S4 and with all the new ROMs I'll have enough entertainment till then

Yezs Mush love to the devs, thanks for keeping roms coming for this phone
Rocking cm9.1
Big thanks to the devs and the community! Love my OG Epic and have no reason to upgrade.
Currently on CM10.1 20130101 experiemtnal with NS4G LF2 modem
I do miss this phone but even the nexus modem couldn't come close to the signal strength of this mopho.
That being said you guys have roms that aren't even in the nexus 7 section. You devs are amazing.

Hello everyone, I feel sad to say this but I have sold my S1 and gotten a S2. I will miss this community a lot...
The S1 community is great and has taught me very valuable information about android.
I will still lurk the S1 forums but not as much as I used to...

Thanks I miss cyanaosp and cyancore.. hopefully I see you guys over at the s2 forums.
Btw happy birthday ts
There isn't much difference in performance with the s2 compared to the s1. The main difference is that games run smoother and that apps open slightly faster. Ui performance is practically identical.
Also audio quality in the s1 is much better than the s2 but that doesn't bother me that much.

Good bye bro
I also got a second hand s2 and it was nice but couldn't resist to sell it for a $40 profit and again back to my sgs
I bought a gnex last 2 weeks n was planning to sell this s1. But i dont think to sell my beloved s1 cause of the community and support from devs and users. This community is great hence i still use this s1.
Anyway good luck with your new community.

The s2 cpu is very powerful. I never feel lag and I have it undervolted so I have great battery life. I can run vice city at max settings (including draw distance) without lag.

Well, CM10.1 will never be fully "Stable" until samsung releases the code source for the S2 however it is still extremely stable, it just cannot be officially called stable. I've never had issues with it and no-one really does as well (only the people that **** something up in their system do) but it cannot be called "Stable" by CM until the source is released. Stock samsung (4.1.2) is extremely fast, nice and smooth. They really have improved their stock firmwares and the good thing is that the S2 will get official 4.2.2. (sometime in the future)
There is also another issue that the s2 has and that is that the RIL crashes sometimes on 4.2.2 and 4.1.2 (I've never had it but others have) and it won't be fixed till official 4.2.2 from samsung is released however, using Dorimanx kernel prevents this from happening.
I think that you should get it, just install CM10.1 and Dorimanx kernel and you will see how fast it is compared to the S1.
