Thanks Devs - Vibrant General

I would like to thank all of you that help keep my Vibrant new and awesome. I'm glad there are people like you who enjoy this and share your work with us. Since joining here I have become a flashoholic on my and my wife's phones. Keep up the good work!
Sent from my buttery smooth Vibrant.

+1 this phone would be no where without the devs, no ics, no GB which means we would all be stuck in froyo right now haha. Thanks devs

This phone would have died, the devs were even responsible for an increase in sells

Very true statement iwillkillyou, instead of becoming a dead device people are now willing to spend double the amount that was originally spent on it! All thanks to our amazing devs!

My G1, Vibrant, and Nook all have custom roms. Thanks Devs.

Samsung/XDA part2

I haven't forgot about you guys. Today we had a meeting with XDA owners via telephone. Were just getting everything ready before we make a huge announcement. I told you guys I'm NOT going to let you guys down. Just be a little patient.
Thanks

Thanks for the update. It is appreciated.
Thanks for the update!!!
By the way, before this thread becomes full of just thanks, I suggest that a mod close this?

what's a "TELLY FON"???
hope this is what i think it is. would like to buy a sammy phone again but its gonna take something good at this point
Would rather hear about a froyo source release for our phone than a official froyo release to be honest. Our devs do way better work with source than what samsung would release as official froyo. Look at the amazing work that noobl has done without source for froyo and we have an awesome dev that even has released work of an miui port (which I am most excited for coming from an htc incredible with a fully working port).

Regardless of the announcement I'm just glad to see there's some communication going on.

Hopefully it'll have Touchwiz 4.0 like the Galaxy S II. If not, I'll just stick with Launcher Pro .

Samsung John, thank you so much for making a connection with the people at XDA and being less transparent with the end user. However even if you are coming out with an announcement, could we have at least an eta. After a while of hearing nothing but coming soon, something along the lines of coming in a month, 6 weeks, 2 weeks, whatever would be much appreciated with any announcement. I am not even talking about froyo, I am talking about anything in general. But again thank you for coming and creating this channel with XDA.

We finally got our leak, and i just wanna say thanks to all you devs who were really ready and got some new toys out to all of us. You guys are what makes a dev community possible, and its good to see this place alive again. Thank you very much.

Now that we have given you these toys i think the dev community deserves a little break lol im so tired.
All of you devs are amazing. Wish my parents would let me donate because you all really deserve it.
I wish I had the know-how to create my own roms. Until then, I thank you devs for all the hard work.

Loving the new ports. I've always been a big sense fan but I feel like I've fallen in love all over again!
I had started to get sick of sense and was using CM7 for a while. Definitley going back to sense once its a little more stable and can answer my phone calls. Great work!

Give Gingersense ReMix by wdfowty a shot. I think the only thing broken is MMS and that should be fixed soon if not already. I've been running it for a couple days and it is sick.

WOW

Well samsung has given away an sgII to the cyanogen team with the purpose of them getting cm7 to the sgII read the article here http://phandroid.com/2011/06/06/samsung-delivers-galaxy-s-ii-to-cyanogenmod-dev-says-get-to-work/ All device manufacturers should begin this trend
i want a free sensation from htc! xD

That's pretty neat! Gets the CM Team that much closer to their dream of having CM shipped on a phone. I mean opening up a brand new phone in the box, running CM, how cool would this be?
Must be nice lol
I agree..that's huge

I like what Samsung is doing. Hopefully they'll do it with SG3s next summer or whenever they come out. That's when I'll be able to upgrade.
If they start to have CM come stock on their phones, itll be pretty beast and fast. Cm is far better then any bloated stock rom on a phone. Them lucky devs!

Wow, amazing. Congratulations cyanogenmod team !

Agreed that more companies should do this.
I was looking at upgrading to the Samsung Charge before unlimited plans go away but I like CM7 too much.

My hopes for this is that HTC will do the same thing so that the CyanogenMod team can hopefully get TV Out to work on AOSP Roms.

Farewell from me.

Well after playing with the galaxy note i bought for my gf a few days ago, i decided i couldn't take it any longer so i went to phones 4 u and asked what they could do for me. They have paid what i had left on my contract 7 months early for me and given me a galaxy s2 for free on a £20.50 p/m orange contract.
Not a bad deal i don't think.
I'll still pop in every now and then though as i still have a wildfire at home and dont want to get rid of my introduction to android, thanks to everyone that has shared anything i used and for teaching me how to get the best out of my phone.

This section will miss you and all your threads and help. Good luck with your GS2.

Mate, that was quick lol. The itch took over quicker than i expected. Sg2 is prob my realistic expectation too and for about the same £pm but on 3. Keep in touch mucca and all the best with the new toy. Its gonna be like losing an arm
I was just about to post another thread but oh well
Yesterday I received my HTC One S on contracts, 25.92 p/m for 12 months, 260 or something upfront.D) I've always loved Willy, he is the best legend to date and I don't think I can sell him
Being with Willy has been a rollercoaster, I learnt about rooting through it, my first two roots were with two Wildfires. I couldn't take Sense anymore, so I got CM7, and then eventually we got CM9!! (Well done to Erwin, if I can find his donation link I will most definitely donate)
I'll still hang around on the CM9 thread and a few others, though now I'll mostly post on the One S forums, hope to see you guys there
cya
Congrats! See ya around on the S2 section!
Bye scratch and thanks to all your work.
We'll all definitely miss you here
*SNIFF*
Here goes another valuable member from the wildfire forum.
BTW maybe you'll see me soon in the SGS2 forum.
If not then I'll go for a galaxy note (I like big screens )
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using Tapatalk 2
Thanks everyone and Congrats on the one s mate, hope you enjoy it as much as i am the s2. I thought id wait a little while before rooting but ended up rooting it today, its a bit confusing reading all the info but i ended up doing it in 3 and a half minutes without even touching my pc........
First flashed temp cwm from stock recovery, then flashed supersu to get root, after that boot into recovery and flashed siyah kernel. Full cwm, root and plenty of tweaks to play with. Just need to decide on a Rom now.
Oh...... The note is a real beast of a phone, hope you have big hands our lass doesn't.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Thanks everyone and scratch, I haven't managed to root mine yet - we don't have Revolutionary yet, and I'm scared if I root it using HTCDev they won't take my phone in for service if I ever need it. And there aren't many ROMs, most are Sense 4.0 based, except for the Alpha 10 CM9 port!

Gl with your new phone, i ditched one s because they are not shipping it with krait here and are using piece of crap s3 instead.
Really crappy move from htc.
Now i dont know which one to get, plastic fantastic samsung is not for me, all others either, so that only leaves me with htc. They ruined a perfect phone.

You were the ONE for themes and all that awesome stuff. And I have to leave too cause my wildfire had a small accident but the successor is a nice shift from the GPUless and LDPI device!
