I did a little search which only pulled up HTC phones. I'm gonna take an educated guess and say that command won't work. I'm not an expert on the matter though.

The nexus 4 doesn't have a splash1 partition.

What else do I do to change to splash screen?

are u talking about the boot animation? just asked coz u said splash screen...
and if you are...
this is the thread you are looking for
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085023
and if u are talking just about the google splash
hmmm need to research on that

I was talking about the splash screen, which is basically the Google screen After many search attempts, I still can't find it.

I believe its located on the kernel level. When I was trying to build kernels for the GNex I remember seeing the images there.

You can only change that if you will edit initrd.gz in the boot partition.

You are really lucky it didnt flash all the files, for example the bootloader and the kernel. If it had done that you would have had a hard brick by now.
Just use This guide and revert to stock.

I love pocketnow, but personally I'd say if you want to find a tutorial for anything which could potentially harm your device always go to the relevant forum on XDA rather than using guides from people with questionable knowledge (although I know that Joe Levi was formerly a mod here so that's an exception).

I don't think it's possible to change

Why would you need to change the boot animation for your S 4? dont make any sense, just enjoy the phone mate, such things are risky to play with .

Because you like it? Because you want something else? Just because you can?
On the SGS2 I used this tool with great success. I know, the look would suggest otherwise
If something like this comes up for the SGS4 I will most certainly use it as well :good:

Android AIO Flasher - Boot your phone into Fastboot mode. Run the Android AIO Flasher and Click the Splash Image Maker tab. Set the following fields: Conversion Method: ffmpeg Resolution: 480 by 800 (depends on your phone). Click "Browse" and select the image you want to set as the splash image. Click "Convert". Check "In Fastboot Mode?" and Click on "Flash the Splash" button. Then, Go to the AIO Flasher Tab and Select "From Fastboot" under Reboot Menu. Click "Reboot" button and Wait for your phone to reboot.

Those instructions are for other devices (Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0/Karbonn S1 Titanium/K-Touch Lotus II/Kiss U86 and Cherry Mobile Flare/Karbonn A9+). S4 doesn't have fastboot, so you can't use AIO Flasher.
As I see, there is still no tool / instruction to change boot logo on S4.
For the love of g-d!!! Samsung gs4!!!
Can someone PLEASE develop a tool for this?
MANY people out there have a GS4 and want this done!
Sorry that I'm not a dev, but I'm willing to develop if someone could start me off where to look .
In view of all possible customizing currently available for the Samsung Galaxy S4:
1: Boot Splash Image: Not yet developed
2: Boot Animation: Already successful
3: Removal of Yellow Triangle/Flash Counter: Already successful
4: Custom Recovery: Already successful
5: Custom ROM: Already successful
6: XDA Xposed Framework App on JB, KK, LP, MM: Already successful
7: Bcmon: DON'T GET ME STARTED!!!
Can a dev out there PLZ have mercy on us all??!!
Maybe by getting a custom_param_lfs.tar for the Galaxy S4?

Yeah it's that only. It replaces the splash images from the splash partition and is independent of the ROMs and doesn't get replaced on changing ROMs.
