Hi,
I have two Nexus 8gb, one rooted (mine) and the other one unrooted (my wife's), both run stock JB 4.2.1. The thing is that BT sometimes works fine and suddenly it doesn't work anymore till I reboot the device... it happens in both device, so rooting is not the trouble. I have restored the rooted one with factory settings and the same... BT works fine but some day it crashes, after rebooting it works again.
Some of you have the same problem? Any solution?
Thanks in advance.

What you're describing is an issue I've had with Android over multiple phones and multiple versions of Android. I don't have a solution for you but I will tell you that I'm pretty sure there will be some work done to the BT stack in the next release of Android as there are multiple problems with the new Broadcom stack they are using in v4.21. New sound quality issues and connection issues primarily. So hang tight.

I use Bluetooth all day. I turned it on this morning at 08:00 AM. It has been on almost 5 hours. The phone is streaming Sirius XM satalite the entire time. No issue. Same thing every day. I have had 0 problems since I bought the phone.
I think your BT device is the problem.
I don't think so, because the BT device is off when I turned on the BT in the Nexus 4... I have tried several ways, 1st turn on the BT device, other times the Nexus 1st... but there isn't a clear patter, it doesn't work randomly. The BT in the phone doesn't activate, it blocked, only a reboot makes it works... extrange.

Hey lads hope everything is going well.
ive had some issues with my DHD GPS. ive returned 2 and now im on my 3rd one.
this is the problem, before rooting and installing apps the gps would connect in a min or less, after rooting and installing the apps gps take forever (45+ mins).
i was getting my phone ready to be sent back and factory reset it and then tested the gps and it connected again in less than a min, now the one i have now i tested gps and perfect, then rooted and tested again and connected in less than a min but after like a few hours i tested it again and it wouldnt connect so i unrooted with visionary and now it connects in no time.
anyone else having this issue?
I have no issue with visionary r14. However some custom kernel might cause this.

I'm having the same problem. GPS is taking forever to connect (30min to forever) and i cannot see what the problem is. My DHD is running stock software.
I run LeeDroid and have no problems with GPS. Connect in under a minute.
Hi guys,
My N7 wifi only 16GB got problem with no sound on right handside headphone. I tried with several headphone and still no sound. So I formatted, data reset, clean install stock rom and still no luck. I'm attending to go service center tomorrow but I tried unofficial cm10.1 today and both left and right headphones are working again. Has anyone face that kind of problem and how to solve it. I appreciate every reply and advice.
Thanks!!!
I had the very same issue, I was running stock rooted 4.1.2 on my grouper and one day there was no sound in one headphone, external speaker worked fine just the headphone was weird. I called Asus and they said I would need to send it in for replacement. So i flashed factory images and unrooted and Boom! Everything worked again. That was like a month and a half ago and I haven't had any problems since. Not sure what caused it (sorry for that) but its gone now.

working again
Thanks for the reply.
Last night I decided to go service center. So I flash back factory image, unroot and relock the bootloader this morning. Then everything working back. Now I unlocked, rooted and check again and everything is fine. Don't know what is the problem. At least I don't need to go service center now. Hope the problem is solved like yours. Thanks.

I have a similar problem but I don't know how to do what you both did.
My Nexus 7 is not rooted or anything. Three days ago I installed Blackmart Alpha and installed 2 applications with it, and everything was ok. The next day everything was still ok, without any sound problems. Last night, I tried listening to a song and it only produced sound on the right side. I tried different headphones but it was the same. I have read many threads so far on a few forums and this is the only one in which you have seemed to manage the problem (other ones were just to push the jack harder, that's not my case).
So far I have already tried doing a factory reset, but it still have the same problem. Any help?

Now I've found a way and I uses it everytime the right handside sound gone. Plug in your headphone and play a song with maximun volume for a few second. Then the right handside sound will come back Sometimes it needs to play around like unplug and plug again. Good luck buddy!!!
Greetings,
I'm asking this question in name of my brother, whom I have given my nexus 4 when switching to a nexus 5.
Often when he uses bluetooth to connect to his car, his nexus 4 reboots, with date and hour completely reset. Also, recently the phone randomly shut down because it had 0 charge left, however the phone was practically just recharged. I never had any problems, but then again, I never used bluetooth.
Additional info: the phone is not rooted and is on android 4.4.
Is this any known problem?

He is not rooted and not tech savvy. Also, I'm not going to root the phone for him or he will come to me every time there's a problem. Isn't there any other way?

Try flashing the factory images for him.
Sorry for digging up this sort of old thread.
I have similar problems on my N4 with CyanogenMod 11 (04/12 Nightly, Cm11 stock kernel). I use a Sony Smartwatch 2 and while connected, it'll randomly reboot, particularly while updating/dowloading from the Play Store. Im going to try a newer nightly and if not the latest factory image to report.
Lately, I am facing this terrible Bluetooth problem on my s6e+. All my devices are dropping connections even if the phone is in my pocket.
My Bluetooth earphones would disconnect if I keep my phone in either pockets but would work fine 10 feet away from laptop.
My Moto360 keeps dropping connection, vibrating constantly which makes me think I received notification and makes me go crazy!
I thought I had problems with Android wear so I resetted my watch, removed android wear app and reinstalled, paired again.
Still problem was there so I tried headphones to confirm the problem is with phone. I tried unpairing all devices, clearing cache.
Does anyone have solution other than wiping system. That is the last thing I want to do.
I am on stock 5.1.1 unrooted. TIA
EDIT: I wiped/Factory reset my phone. Still the problem persists. I am starting to believe it as hardware problem.
UPDATE: Samsung replaced main board and Bluetooth problem is solved now!

Were you able to solve it anyhow? I haven't received any updates since I bought the phone.
No, it's still happening
I had similar problems, was losing connection to my card obd II dongle and my car audio system.. resolved with the MM update
I am on Tmob so I haven't received the MM update. It would take atleast a month and I am not sure if that will work 100%. So I sent my phone to service center. Will update when I get their response for this issue.
Yes happen after 5 months one day my pebble watch start to disconnecting and then my car radio.

Somethink disabled in Package Disabler Pro ?
The Bluetooth connectivity is so messed up with this update that the phone is not usable with a Bluetooth headset (and its the only way how I take calls). I dont get this: I hoped that they improved the WiFi 5Ghz problem and video stutter issue ( I didnt checked the first one) with the update, but they messed up one of the essential functions of the phone. The problem is: the phone is 1000 Euro and after every update it has at least one MAJOR ISSUE. I couldnt use it normally for a single day for a 1000 Euro phone. And I wanted to give it a chance. This is getting rediculous.
Anyone having this problem?
When they dont fix it quickly, I am returning the phone for good.

If you're just going to threaten to return the phone Everytime there is a bug your in the wrong place. Just return it and stop your moaning.

Well you are right about complaining regarding returning the phone, but I think you are not seeing the problem here. When we get to the point, its not A bug, these are major issues impacting the daily usage of the phone and one of them is always there: Bluetooth connectivity, WiFi 5GHz constantly disconnecting, video recording stutter etc. Its about reliability of the device. And I am hoping that they can be fixed, especially the issue with Bluetooth connectivity.

have you try to factory reset don't restore anything just re-download your stuff and see if everything works. I bought two of them one for me and one for my wife my wife's was acting up I dumped the phone twice and wallah everything's been working fine since.
The issues with her phone was 1 it wouldn't connect to the computer but one time and it only lasted 30 seconds. The on-the-go wasn't working properly either I couldn't even connect a thumb drive to it for it to read it. it wouldn't download anything over data or Wi-Fi it was fully activated on Verizon but still would not work. fingerprint sensor would only let us register one finger on it. So I dumped the phone the first time and I restored all her stuff all the issues came back with the restore after I dumped it after that I didn't restore anything other than her call log and her text log and everything has been working flawless since her phone is now bootloader unlocked TWRP recovery installed and magisk rooted.

If it is really a problem everyone must encounter the same issues, for me Bluetooth working perfectly the stuttering is gone and the WiFi performs on my device good from day 1.

Well, the bluetooth connectivity manifests by making calls through the bluetooth headset (music is fine): I hear everthing, but i cant be heard fine. My voice is distorted or changed with occasional connection lost. Sometimes it works fine. I wouldnt have noticed it, when I wasnt told, that I can be barely heard.

I don't doubt the fact that what you experience is the truth for you but I have a bleutooth headset as well I don't have those issues and bleutooth performs even better for me with the last update.
My suggestion is make a ticket on the OnePlus website about it
