Tab becomes agonizingly slow if internal sd space is below 2GB - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

I have experienced it twice now. The first time I experinced i thought my tab was broken but then decided to do a factory reset and it went back to its original state. Now after doing some heavy downloading with utorrent for android my tab became slow again.
I've searched the net and found out the 16GB Nexus 7 also experiences this problem.
The only solution so far that i found working is doing a factory reset. Clearing cache, data, and dalvik doesn't help either. Uninstalling apps and deleting files will also not resolve the issue.
Can anyone also test on their tab if it also happens?

My P6800 running PA 2.55 has been fine with less than 2gb free on the internal memory

I'm running official ICS on my P6800 and I have no such problem either.

can you guys do a quick Database IO benchmark on Antutu and check what the score is?

did another test:

My tab 7.7 now has 3.5GB of free internal SD, but it is very slow. I used official 4.0.4, Zeta rom (4.0.4), and now I'm on Paranoid 2.50. After ~1 week after reset or after setup a new rom, my Tab becomes very slow. Even if free internal storage >2 gb. The process mmcqd/0 uses the most % of processor when my Tab becomes slow.
Now AntuTu shows the result 85 for I/O test
P.S. I think i found, where the problem is. But the progrann, which solves it, don't run on my device

ICS 4.0.3 OTA halted by Google

http://androidheadlines.com/2011/12...e-to-high-cpu-usage-and-battery-life-bug.html
google stopped the ota
i just wanted to have a confirm of what i 've read in a italian forum.. it seems that google decided to stop the ota because of an excessive usage of the cpu and a battery bug in the ics for nexus s.. is it real??
Yes due to high CPU usage and battery drain. Hopefully the CPU usage is contributing to the poor app drawer performance. If not then hopefully it is on the list. The app drawer on my S is TERRIBLE compared to friend's Galaxy Nexus.

Ok so probably they will release another ota i hope.. the battery goes down in 9 hours
Nice can look forward to me rom
Don't understand why they didn't notice in first place

They were probably under pressure to keep their promise to release a from within weeks of the GN release. Hell idk

I have a ns4g and for those that received the ics update on the ns, Google will fix it. I'm sure within a week(s) because they are admitting fault and pulling it so more people aren't disappointed. I on the other hand have an extended battery and would gladly take that ics update lol
I dont think this is happening to everyone, I am using 4.0.3 and cpu usage is low and battery is great. Same with 2 friends that installed it. Maybe something related to specific networks or sinals.
Sad to see Google break because of a deadline.. There is no possible way anyone involved in the development and testing of ICS on the Nexus S line didn't notice the problems with it on this phone. This is something I'd expect out of Samsung.. It's ok though, thanks to devs my phone is finally stable enough..
New ICS build at the horizon? (4.0.4? 4.1?)
Ha. Thanks for the link, "Instigator".

No wonder the i9020a hasn't seen the update yet. I hope they can resolve this bug quickly. Like before Christmas.
It will take a few builds for Google to get all the bugs ironed out. Same happened with the Nexus One and GB.

it;s a kernel issue...use a custom kernel, and it should be fine
I'm having this problem. The phone stays awake while I don't use it. And when I check the stats Android OS' is eating most of my battery and keeps the phone from sleeping. I have stock ICS with stock kernel.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
So where is the official statement from Google that the OTA has stopped?
There hasn't been one (EDIT: that I've seen). The updates are still live on Google's servers, so until there is official word or the update is pulled, there is no reason to assume the OTA is ending.
Very strange, 4.0.3 is much better for me than 2.3. What we can expect?

[HowTo] find out when my phone has been manufactured *secret code*

Hi everyone!
For some short time, thanks to our great developers, we have CM10 aka Jelly Bean!
But this also brought some problems with it. Some users are said to have lags. Fault for this is said to be the different speed of the NAND partition. I do not want to discuss this here, because I am of the opinion that CM10 is insanely fast, even with older chips. -> seems to be solved now, with the new partition layout :victory:
But how do I check the date of manufacture (DOM)? After a short search on the internet I've found how to check when your phone was manufactured, but this may vary of course from the sale date, so please be careful. And it also says nothing about the speed of your NAND partition.
Open dialer, type *#*#197328640#*#* to open SERVICE MODE (if it isn't working try only *#197328640#*)

My phone is older than yours and i didn't expect such big lags on cm10. In fact, the latest build is very smooth and responsive.
Maybe the lags aren't caused by slow NAND partition at all, because the slow one has still 54Mbit/s speed, could be enough for data partition.
I believe in pawitp's work. Till it isn't even a official CM10 build we can be happy to have JB on our SGS..
I guess you have to just test the rom with full wipe (+format system) to know for sure, if it runs well on your phone.

2011.2.16 - I guess a newer version of SGS-I9000. However, date on the battery (below SN) says 2010.10.28.
I have CM10 installed and I have experienced lag with the previous alphas (mainly using apps), not so far with the latest version.

I never heard anything. For the time being I've built the CM10 and ported the AOKP framework.
CM10 is going to final builds soon, and AOKP has already stopped at M1, so once this gets all ironed out there won't really be any changes. Future updates will address bugs only until I can figure out the Git myself and add the Camera.

I had no problems charging as mtp was already checked off from my previous install of JC Sullins' preview CM10. Matter of fact, if you plug into usb, even though it won't connect you can then tap usb connected from notifications and see whether mtp is checked off or not and check if needed.

[I9500] Camera app causes random device reboot

I am having this problem where opening camera app will sometimes cause the phone to reboot. Does anyone else having this problem? I just want to confirm either this is firmware issue or hardware issue.
I'm running build I9500XXUAMDL. Stock, not rooted. System updated recently. Had the same problem before the last update too (can't remember previous build number).
Update:
1) The problem is still there with ME1 update.
2) It happens with 3rd party camera as well (I tried CameraZoom FX) so I believe the problem is on lower level than app.
No camera issue here. Using XXUAMDL firmware.
Yes same problem.. On DXUAMDK.. Happens with my friend's s4 as well
The camera uses the external sd card if one is installed. Try setting it to use internal only.
My S4 has issues with accessing the external sdcard (seems a common problem where the solution is reformat the external sd card.)

lol what do you expect? no device will be bug free ever!!! Every device have their own set of issues... whether the issue is reproducible by others is the question. We all know samsung ****ed up the release of s4 and rushed it in advance due to competition and hence we still have some bugs here and there.
Wait for few weeks until the bugs are fixed, im sure in a month or so the s4 will be more than perfect.

I know it's been rushed to compete with the z and one. But looking at s4 bugs, I think the most buggy of the 3. Heat +brightness throttle +battery (unplugged mine from 100 went down to 99 after 5m' screen on time and I had no Wakelocks) + this + smearing, that's a lot.

benchmarks are so "gingerbread"
get the "feel" of the phone man.
if benchmarks are to be believed, you should get exact ( or even similar) scores in benchmarks. benches are NOTHING. the octa core smokes Antutu, but even it has mild occasional lags.
I just use benches to show off my phone a little.

Your going to see a lot of variations with your score depending on the temp of your cpu. Our devices run hot and usually throttle under extended heavy loads. The KT kernel throttles at 70c, not sure about the stock kernel. My phone got 24,500 stock and actually sometimes scored lower after I OCed the cpu and gpu. Turns out the problem was throttling. After cheating at cooling my cpu down to 20c in the fridge I got a score of 27,000 :silly: obviously I don't keep my phone in the fridge all the time. The only time I run into throttling issues is when I'm benchmarking, I get the full 2.05ghz under normal use.
I'm a little confused, I have the SHV-E300S(octacore) version and my scores are 23000 - 24000. I think that this scores are a little bit low.
How can improve the scores?
