I am interested in this, can you explain more on your setup. What is the DL-165?. An asus docking station? There is a USB to HDMI video converter for sale in the fry's add today for only $12.99 that uses a displaylink driver.

DL-165 is a chip type of DisplayLink Adapter, known supported devices are DL-125,160,165 based devices.
That adapter costs me $30. Currently this is not suitable for daily use because it is too slow (1fps), I'm working on it.

bluetooth through OTG?

Hey guys, just curious since I know the BT in the device is a bust would it be possible to get BT unning through an OTG cable and adapter. I was only thinking about this because i was going to try playing with an emulator and thought it would be neat to be able to use a real game controller.
Not possible, you'd need driver support in the ROM for specific hardware.

OTG + Eye-Fi = Profit?

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if it would be possible to use an Eye-Fi card with my DSLR and an OTG USB cable set up to use my Nexus 7 as a viewfinder?
Thanks in advance!

Unless there's something about the Eye-Fi that I don't understand, I don't see how this could work. The Eye-Fi doesn't broadcast a live image as far as I know. I'm also not sure where the USB OTG cable would fit into the equation since I'm assuming the Eye-Fi would go into the camera.
I should also mention that I'm not completely familiar with the way Eye-Fi card work lol

don't think that would work - Eyefi only sends picture files not live video stream and for that matter the nexus 7 is not designed to take video data via usb

What type of camera do you have? I remember reading in this forum someone with a Nikon DSLR was able to connect it to the tablet using a MHL cable. I think he had an app on his phone for nikon cameras as well. Chainfire also makes an app for Canon EOS cameras. The comments make it sound like it works on the nexus 7. I'm planning on getting a cable and testing it out as well eventually. It offers live view and a lot of other features.

Not to sound mean but you should really at least look at a product's website to get an idea for what it actually does.
http://www.eye.fi/how-it-works/features/direct-mode
This says that you can send the pictures directly to your Android device.

You don't need eye-fi. Just the otg cable, root, and chainfire's app. This will give you live viewfinder.

i want buy a tab but cant decide..

pros and cons????
performance????
ur views will be valuable for me...
Yes.
Pros: cheap, fast, direct updates, large dev community, awesome roms...ect
Cons: front camera, many screen lift reports
I just bought this today. I have a HP at home, this thing rocks. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. I have two weeks, originally I was 95% sure I was going to return...now, I'm want to keep it.

It's definitely the best thing going for the money you pay. Smoother than an ipad too!
It is the best tablet you can buy. You probably read about screen lift issue, well dont bother about this, every tablet has issue when it release first. and Anyway, it is fixed by now All new built device has this issue fixed (this apply to some C8O and C9O Model Number and up )

Plays 99.9% of games super smooth:good:. N.O.V.A. 3 is the only game that lags on the nexus 7, but that's Gameloft's fault.

Not natively, but there are several free media player apps that do. One of these is MX Player.

Exciting stuff, cannot answer whether it'll work or not :/
Will not work, because nexus 7 do not support MHL
Jellybean will support Miracast which can stream to your TV or other device.
It's new to me but looks interesting and could do away with HDMI.
That is the SlimPort adapter that the Nexus 4 has. It required hardware to be used, that we don't have. So it will most likely not work.

OK, lets stop all these jokes.
Obvious answer would be:

but MacGyver would use NFC->Bluetooth 4.0 LE adapter
Use MHL 2.0 HDTV Adapter :good:
thanks guys appreciate your help
i saw few people using NFC to mirror phone on tv
i will buy mhl cBLE then

On the you tube video, there are times when you use a controller instead of the S4. Can you tell me what that controller is and how it connects to the phone? Where do I get it?
Thanks

even for last year 'highest' model of tv,es8000,screen mirror does not work, but streaming video is okay(from player you select output device tv and in a few seconds its there)
but this still sucks, better to use some stupid computer or android stick,or just your computer(tv as monitor, heh),smart tv my a**
i call this proof of concept, not working technology
or maybe purchase evolution kit...yeah,sure
(note that i don't have any adapter,i don't see any hardware problem there, and i'm not gonna buy hardware patch for software problem)
