Hey, I'm new to android (own all apple gear, iPhone, iPad, ATV ect.) I just purchased a nexus 7 about a month ago and am pretty comfortable with it now. I rooted and unlocked and am wondering how I make a full system back up. I have been reading web pages and forms for days and found thousands of methods but most require a insane amount of steps and various programs. I'm just wondering if someone can let me know of a app that allows a complete backup (ie. All my apps, games and saves, settings, screen layout) kind of like a iCloud backup.
P.S. I'm aware of titanium backup, from what I'm reading all this app does is back up apps/games and their settings/saves along with everything else out there... I want to save everything ! Including my screen setup, widgets, settings, everything
Thx !

Titanium backup, save your apps with your apps data.

But does titanium back up settings...like home screens set up for example?

Use a custom recovery like twrp or cwm, easiest full backup ever.If you want to be able to update or change rom with same apps and data after install then titanium is a god send.

That's exactly the answer I was looking for ! Thanks !

Of course, titanium backup apps and it's data. Means, all your setting or score (games) will be backed up.

I'm happy with twrp it handles the encryption does everything I need

Can I back up my saved games that I have for example Dead Trigger, GTA III, ETC. I have a lot of game progress in many apps and wouldn't want to lose that, is it possible for me to back that up and have it once I go back to JB 4.1, I'm just having too many problems with the new 4.2 that's why.

All the files and backups are stored locally, don't wipe your SD card partition, then, when you reinstall the titanium from the play store, all the backed up apps should be there. WARNING! Dead triggers data will be wiped when flashing a ROM, and tanium won't work for it. Back it up in the cloud by going to New Hope and login and backup from the game itself. Hope this helps.

Hey, I would like to know what some good backup options are. The main thing I want is for the backup to have everything, files/data/apps/etc. The reason I'm asking is because I can't find one that looks like it will backup things like downloads/documents.
Thanks,

I use a sync app like syncme to backup everything on to a PC or in my case, a network drive. I set it up to run every few days at night while I sleep. It syncs via WiFi so don't have to do anything.

Samsung Kies if your on windows/os x
I don't have access to a laptop or computer are there any other options
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
does kies include saving app data like saving game progress, for example you reach level 10 of a certain game with 100 credits, etc . kies is cumbersome for transferring text messages.. not sure if it will work with whatsapp messages too.
i am asking this because soon i will upgrade too to the note 3 and I dont root also. how about the titanium/helium i keep hearing about? thanks, thanks
I tried helium but it kept asking to connect to computer I thought I could just save to sd card

Good Luck with the backup. I found whilst moving from IOS to Android that the backup for non rooted devices leaves a lot to be desired. This is one area Sammy needs to get sorted out properly. I mean can they not emulate / copy itunes or somethng? lol
itunes saves app data? sorry im clueless about apple-related stuff lol.
some of the games i play can be stored in google cloud but i am not sure if it will work properly on a new phone.
craigel, from what i understand, for sd cards you can store pics, files, etc, as well as apps, just not the complete app data if i am not mistaken
Don't rely on kies. It's garbage.
Try Mybackup
In your opinion what's the best back up and restore option to use?
Love the 90s good times
Titanium Backup or that floaty tube backup program? Unless you mean system settings. That will not be easy. Google backup tries to get some settings across.
