In your opinion what's the best back up and restore option to use?
Love the 90s good times
Titanium Backup or that floaty tube backup program? Unless you mean system settings. That will not be easy. Google backup tries to get some settings across.

No problems here, maybe try uninstalling TB and reinstalling then trying the pro key again. Silly question, you are rooted right?
Yup, rooted to the foolest! And, yup, I tried the uninstalling and reinstalling thing and still... no glory! Guess i'll play around with it till it kicks in. I just don't understand it. Thanks anyway

Visit the Titanium Backup official site and in particular the wiki.
The feature I use most on TB is the freeze feature. It is also useful to backup settings for programs, like K9 mail, that do not have a backup feature built in.
Useful info. Marv... Thanks.

Hey, I'm new to android (own all apple gear, iPhone, iPad, ATV ect.) I just purchased a nexus 7 about a month ago and am pretty comfortable with it now. I rooted and unlocked and am wondering how I make a full system back up. I have been reading web pages and forms for days and found thousands of methods but most require a insane amount of steps and various programs. I'm just wondering if someone can let me know of a app that allows a complete backup (ie. All my apps, games and saves, settings, screen layout) kind of like a iCloud backup.
P.S. I'm aware of titanium backup, from what I'm reading all this app does is back up apps/games and their settings/saves along with everything else out there... I want to save everything ! Including my screen setup, widgets, settings, everything
Thx !

Titanium backup, save your apps with your apps data.

But does titanium back up settings...like home screens set up for example?

Use a custom recovery like twrp or cwm, easiest full backup ever.If you want to be able to update or change rom with same apps and data after install then titanium is a god send.

That's exactly the answer I was looking for ! Thanks !

Of course, titanium backup apps and it's data. Means, all your setting or score (games) will be backed up.

I'm happy with twrp it handles the encryption does everything I need
I want these two apps out of my app drawer, so I want to make sure I can uninstall without issues.
Thanks

Yes, it is safe to disable or freeze them.
Delete the trash
Yes, I've deleted both on mine with no issue at all.

I thought you could only "disable" them
How did you manage to delete them?
I use Titanium Backup Pro. But keep in mind that you will not gain any storage by deleting system apps so I freeze most of the one's I don't want.

yep, freeze them in TiBU
Jus delete them... you can get them back from the play store...
I can not remove the Play Magazines by any means. I deleted a file magazines.apk from the system/app by Root Explorer and then rebooted, but the program continues to run. How to get rid of this sticky muck?
Use Titanium backup to uninstall it. You'll Find it under the system files filter.

I'm so confused right now.
One more question.
I've rooted and disabled know, but I keep getting this message. What's this about?
Also, I get FCs on a lot of apps either after backing out, or after using them a while. I'm completely stock aside from root and adaway

In Titanium Backup look for something that says Verizon and shows that Shield. Select and uninstall. Believe mine was called that, but I don't know why yours wouldn't be the same. You can also in the interim go into your apps on your phone and find that Icon and long hold, App Info, and Turn Off until you find the App to force Uninstall on TiBu
