Can I back up my saved games that I have for example Dead Trigger, GTA III, ETC. I have a lot of game progress in many apps and wouldn't want to lose that, is it possible for me to back that up and have it once I go back to JB 4.1, I'm just having too many problems with the new 4.2 that's why.

All the files and backups are stored locally, don't wipe your SD card partition, then, when you reinstall the titanium from the play store, all the backed up apps should be there. WARNING! Dead triggers data will be wiped when flashing a ROM, and tanium won't work for it. Back it up in the cloud by going to New Hope and login and backup from the game itself. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I'm looking for a ROM that is as close to the Nexus ROMs as possible, also without root access.
Basically imo touchwiz sucks, but all the replacement ROMs i find seem to come with root access. As I want to use certain apps that won't work when the phone is rooted, these aren't suitable for me!
Is there anything available that fits my needs?

Er flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604366 and uninstall the SU app?
That's the sort of thing I'm looking for, but the apps I'm looking to use can still seem to detect root even after the such app and binaries are uninstalled :S

I think that in Cyanogenmod 9 you can choose if you want root access or not. On my Xperia arc running cm9, it's under settings -> Developer Options -> Root access. I hope this helps.

This is the only ROM that matches what you're actually after and was the first true AOSP ICS ROM for the S2. It is a little outdated but will give you the stock experience and ran fine when I first used it.
[ROM][GT-I9100][4.0.4] koud AOSP (v.21.04.12)
Alternatively flash any AOSP ROM and then flash the Siyah kernel and extweaks from Play store as IIRC there's an option to remove root in the app so you can use apps that don't like root.

I have an S2 and a Nexus - prefer the Nexus now...sorry S2 people... but Nexus with JB 4.1.1 is just better.
Anyway.. sure you have the pure Nexus set up, with no root and run Barclays PingIT etc with a Nexus, but you still cant if you root it an any way and it is a hard thing to resist considering the GNex is so easy to root, to back up everything completely in case any thing goes wrong etc and to remove the few remaining google bloatwares like google+, book store app and things.
All i want now is a way to remove root from a system you have tided and improved without losing any of your improved settings and not adding anything stock back to the phone and simply leaving it just how you want it., cant be done it seems.
Hey, I'm new to android (own all apple gear, iPhone, iPad, ATV ect.) I just purchased a nexus 7 about a month ago and am pretty comfortable with it now. I rooted and unlocked and am wondering how I make a full system back up. I have been reading web pages and forms for days and found thousands of methods but most require a insane amount of steps and various programs. I'm just wondering if someone can let me know of a app that allows a complete backup (ie. All my apps, games and saves, settings, screen layout) kind of like a iCloud backup.
P.S. I'm aware of titanium backup, from what I'm reading all this app does is back up apps/games and their settings/saves along with everything else out there... I want to save everything ! Including my screen setup, widgets, settings, everything
Thx !

Titanium backup, save your apps with your apps data.
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
But does titanium back up settings...like home screens set up for example?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Use a custom recovery like twrp or cwm, easiest full backup ever.If you want to be able to update or change rom with same apps and data after install then titanium is a god send.

Of course, titanium backup apps and it's data. Means, all your setting or score (games) will be backed up.

I'm happy with twrp it handles the encryption does everything I need
My Brother just picked up the Nexus 7 with 4G. He's an iPhone guy switching over slowly.
Anyways, he asked me for some good Widgets. I said an Android classic is the "News and Weather" genie widget. He said that's not on this tablet. I told him to look under apps, for News and Weather, and sane under the Widget tab. He said nope, not there.
Did Google remove that classic Widget ?

Anyone ?
I don't own the Nexus 7 myself. Just a Galaxy Nexus, and a Note 2 running CM10.1 and the "News and Weather" genie widget is standard.
Is it not installed on the Nexus 7 ?

Nope not installed on the nexus 7. I read somewhere on here Google does not support it any more or something like that?
I've tried to side load the apk file to my n7 many times with no success.
However I am running clean ROM inheritance 3.2 and it comes with the ROM.
I am new to all this stuff. This is what I don't understand, the app is listed as transperent. It does not show up in titanium backup and I can't find it with root explorer.
I have no idea what is going on with this app.
I hope someone can clear this up

I would download Avast from Google Play and scan sdcard and apps. Not sure what it is. Looks like spam-ware.

I found that in my phone the other day too. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't really do anything.
Could be a log file. I'm not sure what it is. I would scan again once it appears. Not sure if it is I needed file or not. I don't have a nex 4 but was looking into getting one that's why I'm at the forum.
You can try sd maid which has a system cleaner. Or change the files permissions if you are worried about it transmitting data. But I wouldn't mess with it too much until you figure out what it is.

You guys could wipe your sdcard with twrp if you are worried, but back up all your wanted sdcard data to a computer first. And then put it back on right after. I do that with my Nexus 7 sometime. Not sure if it is the same process on Nex4. It may not be necessary, not sure.

does kies include saving app data like saving game progress, for example you reach level 10 of a certain game with 100 credits, etc . kies is cumbersome for transferring text messages.. not sure if it will work with whatsapp messages too.
i am asking this because soon i will upgrade too to the note 3 and I dont root also. how about the titanium/helium i keep hearing about? thanks, thanks
I tried helium but it kept asking to connect to computer I thought I could just save to sd card

Good Luck with the backup. I found whilst moving from IOS to Android that the backup for non rooted devices leaves a lot to be desired. This is one area Sammy needs to get sorted out properly. I mean can they not emulate / copy itunes or somethng? lol
itunes saves app data? sorry im clueless about apple-related stuff lol.
some of the games i play can be stored in google cloud but i am not sure if it will work properly on a new phone.
craigel, from what i understand, for sd cards you can store pics, files, etc, as well as apps, just not the complete app data if i am not mistaken
Don't rely on kies. It's garbage.
Try Mybackup
