Wifi problem - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi there,
I've been having problems with my wifi at my home conection. I can connect to the network, but the amount of data transeferd between the phone and the router is close to nothing. It doesn't even connect to google services... Somebody knows anything about this?

only at your home this happens?
have you installed the aurora updates?

Yes, only at home, and I have the Aurora update 18.

Did you try using wpa_alt in /system folder? (or /system /bin i'm not sure tho')

I did that, and nothing changed...It still connects, but I can't access de market or any other site on the browser. Sometimes, when I turn Wi-Fi on, the phone reboots, I don't know if it has something to do with this or not...

Last thought, try changing your modems encryption and radio channel. If those doesn't work i'm out of ideas. Goodluck

Tried both of them, none worked... I already did a factory reset, I have the latest Aurora update, checked the router DHCP log (wich shows that the android device is connected), and I still can't access internet. I already tried another android phone in my home network (Xperia U, which worked), and tried my phone in another wi-fi connection, and it also works.... This is so weird!

[Q] Android Market "File Invalid" Error *On some WiFi connections**

Hi everyone,
So I've rooted my Kindle Fire and installed the Google Android Market. When I'm on my home Internet connection, I can download/install any books/apps I please. However, when I try to do so on another Wifi connection, say, at a friends house, I am always shown an "Invalid File" error after the download completes.
I've read that clearing the cache can sometimes fix it, but I've not been able to find how to do that in any of the Settings menu.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks a lot in advance
don't think it has something to do with your kf
maybe he is running a firewall on the router and blocking some ports

I can try. Do you know which ports I should ensure are open?
I've tried on several different Wifi connections and all of them except for mine give the same error.
I cleared the cache/data of the Market.
don't know the ports - sorry
but an other idea:
do you possibly use a fixed ip adress on the kf ?

I did check to see if any of the Wifi connections where on a static IP connection because I read somewhere that turning that off might help, but none of them where.

I tried that and connected to the Wifi for next door and it still gave me the error. The only connection it works on is the connection that was used to setup the Google Market.....no other connections work. It's almost like it's somehow locked to that internet connection....
I appreciate all of your help by the way mate.

I did that several times. In fact, I've downloaded a CM7 rom and install it. And the Market. Guess what?; the same bloody "Package File is Invalid" error.
It must be something to do with the Internet connection because earlier today, I was at a new Wifi connection and it worked there too! But straight away when I went over to a Wifi connection that it wouldn't work in the past, and it still wasn't working. This is really bloody annoying me.
found a post - maybe a hint in the right direction:
This may or may not be relevant to your situation, but here's what the deal was with mine. I have CyanogenMod 7.1 installed, which puts dalvik-cache in the /cache partition instead of /data.
When you install apps from the Market, it downloads the .apk to /cache/downloads and installs it from there. If you don't have enough room in /cache/dalvik-cache for the installer to put the necessary files there, the install fails with a "package file is invalid" error.
There's nothing wrong with the package file at all. It's purely a matter of not having enough space in your /cache partition.
(forgive me if you see this exact same post in multiple places - if I'd known weeks ago that it wasn't really an "invalid package file" issue, it would've saved me a ton of useless googling - I'm just trying to spare others the same hassle)

Hi, Thanks a lot for that, but I've tried that too and it didn't get it working. I think it's something about the DNS/Ports as that would be the only way to explain why it always works on some connections, but not others. On all of the connections, it connects and fully downloads the file, it just can't install them.....
dns ? then i have some:
Addresses are cached for 600 seconds (10 minutes) by default. Failed lookups are cached for 10 seconds. From everything I've seen, there's nothing built in to flush the cache. This is apparently a reported bug http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=7904 in Android because of the way it stores DNS cache. Clearing the browser cache doesn't touch the DNS, the "hard reset" clears it.

[Q] Aurora ICS wifi not working

I have an x5 bought from greece. I had installed the oxygen from here with android ver 2.3.7 and everything worked perfectly.
Yesterday I followed the instructions (restored in my 2.2.1 version, upgraded to 2.3.5, rooted and upgraded to 4.0.3 Aurora 1.9). The device seems to handle the ICS.
All was well but it could not find my wifi connection (which is available using Connectify!).
The wifi switch goes to on, but no wifi connections appear in the list.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Try this
My IMEI code is not 0 but still the WIFI is not able to find any networks, also I am having problems with 3g. My provider gave me the correct apn settings but nothing. Is anyone else having problems with the 3g connection?
Check if you have mac address.
The mac address was fine.
I say was because I messed it up everything trying to load a backup, so now I am trying to save the device and load the stock 2.2.1 rom so that I can start from scratch!
I am having the same issue you have, I had TMN original Froyo 2.2.1 than updated to original 2.3.5, and after that rooted and after 3 step wipe I installed aurora.
No wifi, have mac and imei, and did 3rd wipe again followed by reinstall of Aurora, no go.
Even nstalled latest kernel with new wifi drivers, even worse
i have a non blank IMEI but i dont have a Wi-Fi MAC address...is this why i cant get Wi-Fi?

Mac filtering and playing with ROMs

Hey guys. I know I'm new here and it's probably been answered somewhere, but I can't find it. Here goes - One of the WLAN networks I use most is protected by MAC filter. Yes, it's necessary. The thing is everytime I flash a new ROM I need to change MAC address in network configuration. Is there anything I can do to keep/set a constant MAC? A script or something?
My kernel is the latest Dorimanx kernel 6.4.

I remember reading a thread where one guy had 2 HD2's and they both had the same ROM on it. And he wasnt able to connect both HD2s to his router because the router only would accept one MAC address. It wouldnt accept two mac addresses of the same value. I remember him being successful in changing the mac of one of them. But i went back to page 18 and couldnt find it again. Im trying to search but i cant find it -.-
EDIT: Found the thread,
use a root browser to change wifi mac address.I recommend root browser lite.Go to /system/etc/ folder.Find and open for editing the file "calibration" and in the first line you will see the wifi mac address.Put another one, save the file and you`re ready to go

(that's not what he means, i don't think, , i think he already knows how to change teh mac, but wants a script he can run once when he changes rom so that he always has the same mac for every rom, without having to manually edit it every time, something like provxml did for winmo.)

Thanks alot for your hard job, this ROM is AMAZING!
I have signal drop after install this ROM (using version 2012/7/21).
To solve my problem, I copied the File_GSM and File_Seem_Flex_Tables files from my stock ROM (Retail Brazil) and replace the CM9 files.
I put the files in /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default and reboot, and now I have strong signal and no more drop calls.
The ROM CM9 to Motorola Bravo CrystalTalk function is supported. I tried to copy the file Phone.apk this ROM for the Milestone 2 and the option to configure the CrystalTalk appears in the phone settings, but after a reboot the settings are lost.

Hi,
I got the same problem for Wifi and in minor way for 3G with mine (my baseband is EPU93_U_00.60.00).
I deactivated the national roaming but reactivated it now for testing ...
For the Wifi I tried to disable 802.11n in the tiwlan.ini file but seems to not work.
I'll try to do the requested log readings from tezet when I would have time.

I'm from spain. The sbf that worked well for me was the uk gingerbread (MILS2_U6_4.1-22_SIGNED_UCAMILESTONE2B1B80E1014.0R_USXMILE2GBRTDACH_P013_A007_HWp2a_Service1FF.sbf).
I didn't replace that files because these are for brasil baseband. I replaced those files with ones on my backup that worked well. The problem persists.
So then I created a sbf using motoandroid depacker that only containts the cg45.smg (baseband files). Flashed it. Problem persists.
Checked the files permissions they are ok.
Used baseband changing app. Sadly, problem persisits.

I have tried several methods:

And also apps like "wifi key recovery" or "Wifi QR share"
The problem is it shows a diferent psk password. Its like a long line of numbers a letter, like if it was in another code.
¿How can I translate that so it shows the real password?
