Hello!
I bought a new battery (original motorola) from amazon a few weeks ago and it drains in a strange way... it goes down from 100% to 1% in like 3 hours and then stays at 1% for 3 more hours... does anybody know the reason of this?
I already wiped battery stats (manually from recovery and with battery calibrator)... at the beginning i thought it was a matter of time, that the battery would have worked after a few complete cycles of charge but it didn't go that way!
thank you all!
Here goes a screenshot of my battery status... and i'm still using the phone at 1%...

I had the same problem with my phone when I got it and I tried everything with battery calibration and such.
In the end it was a mix of several problems:
1st my battery was crap. I tested all the batteries I could find on ebay from any company and I didnt have the 1% issue in the end anymore but the voltage was crap.
I got an original hf5x battery in the end, no drops and everything is fine.
Also try this:
Get Battery Monitor Widget Pro-->Calibration-->set the output voltage of the charger and read the data what the battery tells you.
The cheap ones say 1150 or so, my hf5x told my 1700.
Then charge-->uncharge-->... and battery monitor widget pro is dormant and calculates the real voltage of the battery. Then click on "Update mAh" and set it to the setting the app tells you to.
Thats your real voltage, no 1% issue in the end anymore.
Most possible that your battery is a fake which hasn't the required capacities. Is often happen with after-market batteries.
Thank you very much dude! Could this fix the "drops" problem of the original battery too?
I bought this one because the original one had 20% drops...

Searched but could not find answer to this: is it worth the trouble (or is it even possible) to use the Defy + battery on a dead-stock, non-plus Defy? I found one thread mentioning a couple of "files" needed to be changed to make it work. Does that mean it can only be made to work on a modified rom? Thanks
You can use both of Defy and Defy+ battery with any Defy device. As I do.
There is no need any kind of files to get it work. It is possible that your ROM wont recognize the biggest performance. And when your battery get the last 1% it will stay there for hours without switch off.
There is a good solution to use third party battery monitor apps to get the right state of your battery status.
1.) Battery Monitor Widget Pro
or
2.) Battery Left app with Battery Indicator Pro app
I prefer ther first one.

Wow, really? I thought the Defy+ battery had different chemistry and didn't charge on standard Defys. There was a thread about it a few weeks ago.
How much longer do you find it lasts?

OK, so from what I've read (though there does seem to be some confusion) the Defy + battery works in the Defy, gives longer performance, but the Defy won't display the proper battery status without software alteration?
Thanks

I've had several battery problems with my TMobile g2 for a while now
First and probably most important problem is the battery doesn't charge all the way to 100 percent, at one point the battery use said I was on the battery for about 14 days, doesn't matter which ROM or kernel
Also while playing with an app or just browsing the web the battery for about an hour or so will drain down to about 15 percent
I've tried the stock USB chargers my phone came with my friends chargers and batteries still same issues
I've also had issues where if I was rebooting the phone while on the charger at let say 15 to 20 percent it would go down to about 5-10 percent
Getting very annoyed with this phone and considering moving back to the iphone
Any help would be greatly appriciated, thanks

Have your tried underclocking or charging the phone while your device is powered off?
have you tried wiping the battery stats? truthfully its probably a bad battery or multiple bad batteries if you have tried multiple roms and kernels and get the same results. either that or theres something else you are missing here
underclocking no will try that now.
As for charging while its off it would turn on to recovery mode
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA
And the battery stats yes several times just woke up it only charged to about 40 percent reset it now it's at about 80 percent super weird
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA
Sounds like a bad battery. Have you tried other types or models? Another OEM, Mugen, etc..? All the batterystats and ROMs do is report to you what the battery states. No matter how you cut it (change ROMs, kernels, undervolt, underclock, overclock, etc...) if the battery is as bad as you say after all those changes, it HAS to be the battery.
Have tried another battery sent to me by TMobile and nothing actually even worse, as for third party no have not tried it yet don't but will this week and report back, hopefully my pants wont explode

+1. Also, if it comes down to it, I have a spare Mugen 1800mAh that I am able to part with. Just shipping and a small fee.

I have the same problem. I tried with the phone off, but the issue is still here. Full charge (7 hours) and the battery percent shows 54%. I changed the battery for a new, but is the same. Some idea, please?

LOL, you think iPhones don't have battery problems? I've known more iPhones with battery problems than Android phones. And you can't (easily) replace the battery in an iPhone.
Considering FOUR of my iphones I owned the batteries actually charged to 100 percent without me restarting it and wouldn't have to carry a charger around AND the phone itself is easier to replace, yeah...
The battery I ordered should come in today so will update later

I hope that works for you. In my case, it was not. I bought a new battery and nothing changed. I am increasingly convinced that this is a hardware problem. Anyway, I appreciate your feedback.

Although my phone is a G2, I bought the battery from the Incredible S because it has a little more capacity (1450 mAh).
I'm using HTC Wildfire and I have same problem. I tried everything: I bought new battery, Rewrite software also bought new charger.. nothing.
You can try another battery like mugen 1800mah!!! The best for me!

Hello,
I bought a new battery for Defy, original BF5X because I have this horrible here was going from 40% - 20% and 20-10%. I was told to buy another battery
I replaced the battery and the ROM with MS2.
My doubt is: What do the ROM to recognize the new battery, say the percentage ... I want to delete the tracks of another battery.

The battery indicator is stuck at 100%. The battery itself drains. After a few minutes of heavy usage the phone just turns off.

Your battery is sn AA, so you don't have a factory damaged battery. Anyway this doesn't necessary mean your battery is not damaged. If i were you i would try with a second battery from any friend (or just buy it, it is cheap and so you will have got a second emergency battery) and see if same happen. I am almost 100% sure it is a problem with the electronic circuit inside the battery (not electrical problem) which provide status information data from the battery to the phone.

You cannot calibrate the battery using an app. Every app that claims that is lying. You could in the past but that was a long time ago.
I've same problem. Have someone solved it? How? Help asap pls
Replace your battery. That's the only way to solve the problem.

Download Repair Battery Life, and Advanced Battery Calibrator from Play Store.
@Uzair40:
Today's myth debunking: "The battery indicator in the status/notification bar is a reflection of the batterystats.bin file in the data/system/ directory."
--Dianne Hackborn, Google Engineer
Battery calibration apps do not work! The only thing they do is something Android itself already does: delete batterystats.bin. The only viable solution here is for the user to replace their battery, as the microprocessor in the battery itself is faulty and reporting an incorrect voltage, which Android translates into a battery percentage.
Calibration doesn't work. Battery is ok. I checked with other device. Baterystats.bin deleted and doesn't work.
thank you

I'm using 4.4.2 stock XEO and yes, this happen on every ROM. I downgraded from 5.0.1 to see if it would work but nothing changed.
You've tried the battery in another device and it works fine, so it's not the battery. This happens on every ROM, so the only possibility left is that you have a hardware problem on the motherboard itself.

So, I 'have to use to it. It won't be a problem but i won't know when my battery will be low. Is there any app that show real battery status? I'm asking because LED shows real status while charging. And sorry for my english but I'm still learning it.
Hello I just bough a s4 because my old iphone 4s battery was draining really really fast and now i have this phone for 5 days and the battery goes kinda very fast away... I just rooted it to delete all the nonsense apps and it spaced up like 300mb of ram on it and I counted: 1% goes in 4 minutes of just touching my phone in 0 brightness. Is this normal for this phone? I already formated it few times. Please help.
Not its not normal.Install GSam Battery Monitor and check Kernel WakeLocks. And post result.Good Luck.
S4 batteries have a problem. Go to samsung service center and exchange it.

well if it's the battery itself i think it's better if i just buy it 20€ is a new one because if i send my phone to the service it's going to cost 10€ to send it to them and back and i probably won't have it back in 2 weeks...
So this when i open the app, shoudn't the mA be higger than that?
edit: after unplugging it it has only 460 mA -.-'
Click first icon down on left. And click on View Kernel WakeLock post the first result.:good:.
I have too WakeLock fix it by delete Cache in Settings/More/Storage!After that Settings/More/Application Manager press Menu Button and click Reset app preferences.Good Luck!
If new battey is at a reasonable price go for it. But take care that new batteries are cured from old batteries problems so beware when you purchase. Also there are anker batteries which are good too.

I'm only going on the phone to write an sms and 5 times on snapshot+wifi and then turn it off and the % flies away -.-'
So it's the battery?
check your battery if it is swollen (thick)
Yes as he said, check if battery is swollen.

Well if your battery is draining 1% every 4 minutes with screen on, then you should get around 6 hours display on time which I would consider is pretty normal...

Had no idea an iPhone battery would fit an SGS4. Not much use anyway as it has a much and much smaller capacity. But thx anyway :good:
