if you tried everything then your last resort is flashing stock via odin

experienced the same problem,
it's due to a mismatch on restoring the system apps from previous installations,
if you use titanium backup don't include the Settings/Google Services data since it will result in a mismatch

[Q] Problem boot Galaxy Y

Hello World,
I'm new on the forum and my first topic is this
I have a very big problem. I installed the custom rom Hyperion 7, last week. Today, I wanted test a tutoriel to unlock up to 900 MHz..So..
at the beginning, I did a backup with ClockWorkMod of my rom if I had a problem.
I did the tutoriel without probleme until the reboot :/
My phone reboot automatically on Android System recovery, at the bottom of screen, it's write with blue characters :
"very/log
E:failed to mount /cache
(Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Cant' open /cache/recovery/last_log"
However, I tested all, I wiped data/factory reset, I wiped cache partition, I tested to re-install Hyperion 7, nothing, nothing at all, my phone is lock on the Android System recovery.
Impossible to boot on ClockWorkMod. It's very strange
I don't know What do.. What Shall I do ? Please Help-me !
Thank you very much
(Sorry for the mistakes, i'm french )

Ok, but I don't know which choose. I'm in France.
After going through the tread I am not sure myself since France is in Europe and he has plenty European builds u should flash 1 of the multi language builds
P.s if u flash a firmware that isn't from your region your phone will still function normally the only problem u may get is connection problems like connecting to 3g and such so I'd just flash 1 as long as no connectity problems are present ur golden so just try 1

That happened and I fixed it by flashing a stock Rom that contained boot loader and pit the Rom wasn't from my region so I first tried to flash the pit and bootloader from that rom with my regions firmware but that didn't work so I tried with that rom from in its entirety several times and it eventually worked and fixed my problem I then flashed my regions firmware so I wouldn't have data problems which was also successful so I flashed Hyperion but now I can't get 3g it's stuck on edge
It's worth mentioning that I used the doky73`s galaxy toolbox that came with Hyperion to unlock my phone but I always unlock my phone though not by this method I usually flash unlock.zip but anyways could that be the problem if so how do I fix it

You tried flaring csc of your region ?
One more thing - there are no differences in bootloaders and pit files for different variants of firmwares - i use the same pit file and bootloaders with all Roms and it works fine for me . Haven't had much experience unlocking so can't comment on that stuff
The pit file that came with the rom was different it was called pit.pit and was larger than totoro pit file for our phone and yes I flashed the entire Rom from my region including csc
Edit:I don't know why but only my phone file flashed via odin my csc and pda didn't change I checked by pressing *#1234# is their anyway to flash them without odin

[Q] Wi-fi not working on SGH-i337 S4 (ATT) after "unlock"

Having an issue with my father-in-law's SGH-I337 S4 (ATT). A few months ago my father-in-law had this S4 "unlocked" in Vietnam to use a local SIM and wifi/data hasn't worked since (calling works and I believe texts were ok too). New to Android but I gather they replaced the baseband or something (baseband was MJ9 while build was MJ6). Wifi toggle would not move at all, and data did not work. Also got a error message after trying to toggle the wifi.
I reflashed using the MK2 TAR (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2621279). That seemed to get data working and fixed the error but wifi doesn't really work. After first boot/setup, when it asks for wifi network/password, wifi seems to work and shows available wifi networks like expected. I select my network and enter password, then it just hangs for a bit then goes back to the wifi enable screen, with the on/off toggle not green and the area below just says "turning on". Rebooting doesn't change anything. Can't turn on after that. After a hard reset, I am able to do the setup again, but same thing... works to enter password but then never again.
Seems like the options to try are to reflash a kernel or try a 4.3 ROM, but I don't want to take a few steps back after the reflash got the data working again (at least it can be used as a phone again). Also, my main goal is obviously just getting it working like normal, but I also don't want to lose any future flashing because I was rash and did something I shouldn't have.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Your update to NB1 and use towel root method . I had the same problem when i owned this phone . Even after flashing the kerenel modules i still had no wifi . It will only be a problem for you if you are wanting to stay on the MK2 firmware . Just install Nb1 and after installing dont reboot system , reboot into download mode and flash the NB1 kernel modules and reboot . It may take up to 5 minutes to boot . I switched to the tmobile galaxy S4 and then S5 now because the locked bootloader is a pain in the a$$ and you cant install custom kernels as of last time i checked .

Hiii....I am also having the same problem. My phone was unlocked by a guy and everything was working fine then. From next day the i could not turn on WiFi(It would go grayish for some time and then return to normal).I tried searching for it online and found the following soln
1)Reboot and check(Didn't work)
2)Factory Reset:After doing this it worked for that initial scanning but again was back to normal once wifi was switched off
3)Factory reset and installed root browser(my phone is rooted as i was able to install root explorer) and tried renaming the wpa-supplant config file
.This was worked for me for like 4 days.
After that again the problem is back and its even worse. It is immediately turning off as opposed to delay in previous case. When i tried to follow the same procedure the config files are not present.I could not on wifi even after factory reset even once
As i am a new around here detailed help would be appreciated;

1)Andriod:4.4.2,SGH I337
2)Baseband:I337UCUFNC1

The abbreviations are the different types of recovery software that are generally used. TWRP = Team Win Recovery Project.
Plase take this in the spirit its intended, but if you can't use Towelroot, then you have some reading to do before you plug in anything. Trust me. Knowing all the steps you're going to take beforehand is going to save you a TON of trouble, you'll never be stuck with a brick, and you'll possibly save money.

[Q] Bricked S5 Exynos Variant....

Hi XDA!!
I am experiencing problems on my Samsung Galaxy S5 Exynos variant (SM-G900H).
It has been soft-bricked. I can clearly say so as it can boot into stock recovery and in download mode, but not in stock 4.4.2.....
It has been bricked due to following the steps mentioned in this thread : s health and xposed
Many videos on youtube ask the viewer to flash stock Samsung Firmware from sammobile.com using odin in download mode.
I have a problem even there.... all versions of odin get stuck on initializing......
Tried on all USB ports.... Kies closed..... basically done everything everybody wrote on XDA.
Any new bright ideas would be appreciated....
Thanks in advance!!:good::good:

You need to do more reading. A lot more.
You clearly haven't tried everything yet. Nor are you are bricked if you can boot into recovery mode. It sounds like you have messed up the system files preventing a normal boot.
Odin is the most common way of recovering. Use Odin 3.09, ensure that you have disabled anti virus, malware amd firewall software and do not have intensive programs running in the background. If necessary use a different computer.
Flash a full stock firmware, ideally the same version as the current firmware on your phone. But in any event, not an older version and matching your current CSC /carrier /baseband. And you ought to make the effort to find the correct PIT file and flash it at the same time. This insures that you don't have any lingering partition corruption. A forum search will explain all about PIT files. And someone probably has a thread with the actual files too.
It will work. In the worst case, you will just need to find a different PC.

You seriously think that I don't mean it when I said that I had tried everything?? All steps you mentioned have been tried before I read your reply... Anyways, going on a different PC helped... apparently Odin is quite moody.... If it decides it is not going to run on a PC, it simply will get stuck on initialization... hence the solution is to find a PC which has run Odin before... It will work on that PC definitely!!! If you can't find one, try running on all PC's in your vicinity (friend's, family etc). There will be one that can run Odin...
And by the way, I clearly said my phone is "soft-bricked"... It means that I can boot only into recovery or download... not android... so my friend, you are quite wrong in saying that my phone isn't bricked...

Did you try a data factory reset/clear the caches in recovery and reboot and go one from there?

Yes... but to no avail... anyways... like I said above, flash the stock firmware in download mode again using Odin... If Odin gets stuck, try it on a different PC...
I will not recommend anyone to do data factory reset as
(1) It won't do anything that helps you
(2) If you don't reset your phone, you can still retain your apps and settings after flashing the stock firmware again!!
<i>LOL, here I am, posting solutions to my own problem!!</i>

I am an exynos man, and have fewer options and waiting for better prospects OR 6 months of purchase to pass before tinkering. Anyway I appreciate u posting the solutions you found for your own problem. See you have gained a THANKS point from me.

I have thanked you for thanking me...
For everyone else, this thread will remain open forever even though my S5 is back up and running...
This thread is now no longer limited to the Exynos variant... All are welcome...
Any problem regarding unbricking any S5 can be discussed here and I will try my best to help you...

Help with a stupid decision!!

I was there, modifying my J5 when I, in a stupid decision turned on the OEM Lock again in the Developers Settings!!
Now the phone refuses to boot and only Download mode works
Should I try to ''download'' a stock ROM through odin??
Unfortunately so, I'll be doing that before I see any answers since my phone is the only way to connect to the internet I have...

Flash stock rom trough Smart Switch! You need a computer connected to internet, you need a cable to connect you phone in download mode and the latest samsung drivers installed on the computer. Smart Switch, after you initiate an emergency software recovery, will automatically download and flash the stock rom for you. It will also wipe everything you have except internal data.
Unfortunately, I give priority to offline procedures, since I don't have internet at home, and my PC is completely offline

There is no other way to solve your problem other than flashing stock rom like it was mentioned in previous post as far as i know.
You can download stock rom through Updato for faster download and use Odin to flash it. I dont know how fast download Smart Switch as ive never used it, but if you wanna use Odin method, then use Updato.
You have network since you have posted here .
In such cases I always do buck up of my custom or stock roms!
