I think you are making it too hard. Download the Rom you want to run to your device. It will be on your virtual sdcard. It will be in the download folder or the download folder for your browser. If you want to download the Rom to your computer, just connect your device via usb to your computer. If you have the right drivers installed your device will show up as an MTP device and you can access it like any other storage and copy the Rom over to your device. Just like you were copying it to a real sdcard.
There should be no need to format your 'card'. If you feel like your device is that whack then just flash back to a stock image and start over from there.

Oh I know that mate its just something I like to do, it really does help. OK I will just do an stock flash with jrom flasher and start again

Flash the factory image if you're really that much into it
Although if you're just moving in between roms, wouldn't a system wipe do the job?

rom update without PC

i have no pc with windows. can i update rom on my htc hero just from memory card like i did it with windows mobile on sony ericsson xperia? tnx
The only "official" way to update your Hero is via an HTC RUU, which requires Windows.
However, if you are able to replace the recovery image on your Hero without needing to "downgrade" your ROM, you will be able to update via a zip file on your SD card.
This is very much dependent on the version of the ROM you already have on your device.
Regards,
Dave
tnx
oh thanx! nobody else was able to answer his, i asked on many forums. thanx a lot!
so i just open the file manager on my phone, find the recovery image and replace it, then just go to settings / security / factory data reset ?
where can i find that file on phone?
where can i download the "recovery image"
..if you know, please
Have a look at this guide.
Note that it relies on you getting the APK and recovery images on to your SD card, and in the guide it mentions using a PC, but I think if you download using the browser on your phone you should be ok. However, you may need to use an Android file manager to move the recovery image to the root of your SD card.
If this doesn't work, you have no option (I believe!) but to use a PC to downgrade via an RUU before you will be able to upgrade.
Regards,
Dave
Could you not do it via VM?
Yes you could, but I assume that when the OP says they don't have a PC with Windows, they mean they don't have access to any kind of PC with Windows, VM or no.
If they have access to a Mac, or a Linux PC, they'd be able to copy the APKs directly onto the SD card anyway.

Dave

Installed MAGLDR.......

Hi guys,
I have a international HTC HD2 win6.5.
I have installed MAGLDR using these 2 post..........
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-boot-android-from-sd-card-of-htc-hd2-with-magldr/
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-magldr-and-how-to-install-and-use-it-on-htc-hd2/
When I boot up now it goes to the MAGLDR bootscreen; how do I make it boot to Windows 6.5?
I believe you don't, it wipes your nand memory so you can then either flash Android or WP7 to the internal memory.
OMG! I didn't know that, I thought it was another version of harret; booting up into harret instead of win6.5..........
hmmmmmm.............is there a win6.5 or win7 I can burn into NAND?

no.
you can have 6.5 with android on sd or wp7 with android on sd or nandroid. no dual-nand.
Thanks!
I would like to have original Win6.5 that comes with HTC HD2, is it available here?
Look at posts in Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM Development section. Especially http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=713977
just donwload the official rom from htc (you have it one their support site) and flash it trough your pc or trough SD card but if you flash it with SD it will Uninstal HSPL
I have just flashed Windows 7 into my NAND, and I want to revert back to Win6.5; How can I installed energy rom?
I tried running "Leo_SoftwareUpgrade.exe", after extracting the energy rom, and it says error, and quits.

I can't flash it thru my PC now, as Windows 7 doesn't do activesnyc.........
this has been asked and answered countless times. it helps to read about how to undo what you are doing before you do it!
answer: simply flash your wm6.5 rom from your sdcard.

It's not possible to flash thru the PC, somehow I can't even transfer files via PC.
How do I flash it thru SD?
I've downloaded it and it's "RUU_Leo_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.14.707.3_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe"
Any progress?

did you do like ANY research or are you just doing something without knowing what the hell you are doing??
in the first place if you thought you could install MAGLDR and still have WinMo in your first place you probably didn't read anything
and concerning flashing that WinMo ROM back on your phone you might want to try and hit that search button because i've seen it hundreds of times explained exactly how to do it...
no progress.........
not sure what to do now...........the UI interface from MIUI current version is not what I am after
[ Before ]
- Official Win6.5 ROM + MIUI SD ROM from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969661)
- but then he said he not support SD anymore
- so I thought of moving to MIUI on my phone
[ Now ]
- with MIUI directly, I find that I can't access my SD from PC
- UI not nice.......
I feel like moving to Win6.5 + MIUI on SD, I find that with these configuration, I can access everything via activesync, if I didn't like a particular Android on SD, I just remove it from SD and restore it easily............

didn't work; the 3 colored screen just sits there on serial.......
4) Uninstallation
Only way to remove the HSPL is to flash an original SPL from SD card.
- Take any "RUU_signed.nbh" from a ship ROM and copy it to SD card.
- Rename it to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.
from this:
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/01/01/how-to-upgrade-htc-hd2-rom-through-sd-card-video/
20. You should get ‘Red, Green, Blue and White’ screen with SPL-2.08.HSPL.
21. Let go volume down button when you see ‘loading…’.
22. Then ROM upgrade screen will be loaded.
I don't get to "21"...........it just sits on "Serial"............
Oh! Stupid me!
I am able to flashed to official ROM now;
[ STR ]
- connect USB
- restart phone and hold down "power" + "volume down"
- the boot menu should change to USB
- and wait for computer to install proper drivers for it
- THEN!! run RUU_Leo_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.14.707.3_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe
I know the problem now, it's because I didn't wait for the computer to finish installing the drivers to communicate with phone

U8800 + Linux + CWM

I have been a Linux user since Redhat 7.x yet this blasted phone is kicking my assets. Perhaps this is because many solutions are based on connecting a Linux phone to a Windows computer. I installed Win7 to a virtual machine. It sees every other device on USB except for this phone so no help there.
What I am trying to do - from Froyo - is a Nandroid backup which presumably requires CWM. Apparently, the only way to install CWM is through ROM Manager??
I can temp. root the phone. ROM Manager sees a different Huawei and then responds with a privileges issue. I know that I am rooted because, through adb shell I am getting a "#" prompt.
Oh, I am running Fedora 17. I have installed android-tools which includes adb and fastboot. Booting to purple/pink and plugging in USB seems to mount the entire phone (other than the SD card) in Dolphin. I suppose that I could copy the entire phone to the SD card but then how would I use those files to restore?
Ultimately, my objective is to install Aurora with the ability to restore the thing if necessary.

You can install CWM in pink screen by replacing recovery.img file.

[Q] couldn't format sd card, accidentally deleted OS, can't mount to computer

Hi I broke my nexus 7 3g. I wanted to reinstall paranoid android and make everything fresh. Checking wipe data with goo manager didn't completely make everything stock so I figured maybe PA saved something to the "sd card", so I tried to wipe external data in twrp and I got unable to wipe /usb-otg, then I figured maybe if I wiped all the other options that might fix it and that just got rid of the OS completely.
I get unable to mount /usb-otg when trying to mount it to my desktop to copy a copy of the rom over because it seems my sd card did manage to get formatted. Unless I'm not choosing the right thing I don't know somebody help please before I throw this thing in the garbage.
I can't get it to show up in the nexus 7 toolkit but I have the donate version of that if by some chance that'll make the process easier. God damn please help me.
I've installed I think every program ever made for windows (gonna have to reformat windows again weeeeeeeee) trying to fix this and they all seem to want my nexus in adb mode but I don't think there's an adb mode when there's no OS installed. I'm willing to pay if that'll get me some help faster.
"mount /usb-otg" is for putting a usb storage device (flash memory key or USB Hard Drive) on a OTG cable attached to the N7 when booted into TWRP recovery.
It is NOT for making the N7 look like a USB mass storage device to an attached PC.
So put your ROM file on a USB key drive (VFAT formatted, not NTFS formatted), and flash it from TWRP "external storage". You don't need ADB to be working if you do that.
If you don't have a big enough flash key or a USB Hard Drive to do this with, then you have two remaining options:
1) Get adb working
2) Get fastboot working (and fastboot flash a stock ROM, and then proceed from there)
good luck

Holy crap I kinda thought the otg thing was because I flashed the kernel for using a charging otg cable. You know what I googled everything under the sun except the error itself. I was serious about the money if you want like $5 or $10 let me know if you got a donate link.
I'm pretty curious to know how to get adb working without an os installed. I'm pretty curious again about using fastboot because I have fastboot and it wouldn't show up on the nexus 7 toolkit etc etc etc. If you don't want to explain them that's fine because I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna mess up this bad ever again and I'm gonna buy a second usb flash drive now that I know I might finally have a reason to have even a single one haha.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you I guess I can throw out my tape and floppy drives now that it's 2013 and we're in the future.
The custom recoveries also run ADB... so you don't need an OS installed to use adb - just a custom recovery.
But there is a catch: ADB from the custom recoveries (either CWM or TWRP) show up on a different USB IDs than what the N7 (Android) OS uses
This little tiny detail effs up just about every newb Windoze user because they get an ADB driver installed for one or the other (either the OS flavor - using Google or Asus drivers, or the custom recovery flavor - using the "Universal Naked Driver")... and then they can't understand "why ADB doesn't work" in the other mode.
Sorry but I'm not going to rehash a tutorial on Windows drivers. I put up a gory long winded story somewhere, wait here it is. Feel free to ignore it. Woe to you if you are using Windows 8.
Rather than profuse "thank you"s, click on the Thanks button. At the end of the year I'm going to trade them in for some brownie points.
Well I clicked the thanks buttons but I just have to type it once more thanks there it is, I'll read that link soon too and I'll click the thanks button on that see ya in the future

Here you go:
Required
SD Card
FlashFire download
TWRP as recovery (mentioned you have)
Custom ROM (mentioned you have CM14)
Stock Firmware Package (mentioned you have)
Steps
Part One: Assuming you have all required files mentioned above
Boot into recovery
Choose Mount
Choose USB Storage
Copy all those required files to SD Card except Custom ROM
Unmount USB Storage
Now Reboot Device
Part Two: Assuming you are booted into the Custom ROM
Enable Developer Options in the phone and enable Root from developer options (if not enabled)
Install FlashFire and Open it
Click on +, select Firmware Package then locate where you copied downloaded files on SD Card and choose .tar.md5 tarball
If you want pure Stock ROM then remove tick mark from "Preserve Recovery" and " Inject SuperSU" options, also put tick mark on Wipe Data and Cache
Now start flashing and after reboot you'll have pure Stock ROM
Tips
About device not being recognized by PC, may be correct driver is missing so try installing Samsung Smart Switch (Kies are for older devices) download
Don't forget to post the result
