Looks like vignetting from the lens, but why and why red? Can you share with us any other images with or with out? Have you looked carefully at the lens to see if there's anything in or on it?

Thanks for your replay i am attaching few other photos l. some have no defect

It definitely looks like something optics and not electronics related. Maybe you should replace your camera module.

But it doesn't visible in cloudy whitebalance and sometime it disappear during focusing, not visible during night shots with flash or without flash.

Yeah. It tells me: optics. The camera module is an integrated component anyway it does 95% of the imaging job all alone.

Same on Galaxy S1, S3 and Nexus One. Haven't seen it on iPhone 4S though.
This is white balance related. Unfortunately it depends a lot on the illumination in the room (as is mostly visible in darker environments).

THat looks like something software, code related. I've never seen this.
All the filtering shows is red is being removed. The fact that it shows up in certain amount of lighting also reinforces that it is not hardware but software related. Is there anyway you can reinstall the camera APK? I don't know how possible or safe that would be.

Its seen in other camera applications like 360 camera etc...
So the fault may be the driver.

Camera samples?

Can u guys share some samples ? pictures and hd videos, one of the things im most concerned about atrix aside the glossy plastic body is the camera, my god my milestone's camera is horrible! im so mad that the droid bionic got an 8 mp camera
The camera is ok but not great. Compared to the 8mp one on the inspire it can't touch the inspire. I wouldn't depend on it solely but Like I said its just ok.

I absoluterly DO NOT agree with you. I had 3 inspires (for various reasons) and I thought the camera (like every HTC device I have ever owned) was thoroughly dissappointing, especially the flash. Once you figure out the Atrix camera, its very good. I find you need to push it one stop as it tends to underexpose, but some of the images I have taken have been great.
I also believe the quality is better under 5MP than it is on Widescreen

Yea, seriously...and that was VGA. For real, who cares? In reality I doubt people use their phone camera THAT much, or at least as much as they thought they would. For me it's nice to have one JIC. But overall, I HARDLY use it.

leegoon84, try wiping the camera lens glass clean, I suspect you have a finger print or something on it to cause the haze. Also, determine where bright lights are coming from and use your other hand or something to block that light from hitting the camera - put a shadow over the lens.
You have to clean your lens before you take pictures silly willies!

I also wanted to restate that our lens tends to pick up fingerprints like crazy. The haze is mostly due to that issue... it's annoying but just remember to wipe the lens before photos...

someone tell me about noise on Gnote camera!

Hello all gnote member
I bought my new N7000 on last week
and after shooting some pictures and recording some videos
I noticed that the screen has more "noise"
In recording video 1080HD, I just stay in default ( and not recording any video , only stay in application)
I see so much "noise" on screen although not zoom and recording
So i posted this thread to find someone help me explain this problem, the first I think that the problem in LCD screen but after changed the new LCD screen in Samsung customer service, it still have " noise" when zoom or recording video
please tell me when use camera app, the " noise" will appear while you just stay in default and not tap recording button or not? ( will appear when zoom in 720HD and not appear when not zoom )
Thank

Since your phone is new, make sure you remove the transparent sticker from the Camera! Just saying..
Some roms have it some dont in my opinion which do you have? And have you tried another camera app?
Also check and test your settings and if the foto looks different on another screen
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
You can go back to show it and ask for a diferent one because this one they may not be able to fix. Only if you are not able to swap, I would start experimenting with other roms

Then I guess, if you have it on both roms, with different apps, and lens is clean/ not scratched, go back to store and say you want replacement unit. Because they didntbfix it last time demand compensation. You wont get it but stay polite., Dependant on store service they will give replacement.
Have tried changing settings? If you explain that you have walked all avenues, and which they were they should also be more leniant.
Best case when buying stuff, test it instore you can returnswap emediately. Its a shame its needed....

Are you sure that what you are observing has to do with the camera and is not simply the well known blocking effect of the samoled screen of the note? There is a well known issue with the note screen, search for "rendering blacks", "phasing", etc. in this forum. Simple test: is the problem still there when watching the camera shots / vids not on the note but on an external monitor?
Sorry if i missunderstood

but after my phone had replaced with a brand new LCD Screen in Samsung Customer Service, the noise still not change so may be problem must in camera

Dead Pixel on Camera

I just got my Nexus 4 (16GB) after being in Limbo 2 since Monday and when I got it today and tested the camera, there was a black mark/dot on the camera. It appears on photos and anything that accesses the camera. I've already called up Google and placed an RMA, but I'm curious if anyone else has this issue?

I think it's probably something very small stuck to the glass of the camera. Can camera's even have dead pixels?
take more photos and we can make this into a game of find the black spot!
My phone has a rattling sound when shook, or picked up quick, tapped....
Then... i started focusing with the camera and the camera focusing started to make clicking and locking sounds....
Yeh it doesn't look like a dead pixel. It looks like a speck of dust/dirt..
looks like a dead pixel to me. i had the same on my Galaxy Nexus, but the dot wasnt as big as yours. Proceed with the RMA and get a new one
How about trying to take some reference pictures. Get a sheet of paper with a grid on it and take a photo then give the camera a good (but careful) shake, then take the same photo from the same place and see if it has moved. If so, you know it's dust.
Not sure how that helps cos you can't get at the camera to clean it out. I suspect you'll need to RMA it either way

Quick question for others about cam that have tried. How are your pics in gallery zoomed in? Mine seems to be blotchy, almost impressionistic when zooming in on taken shots, I thought there was an effect on at first. Worried at the moment as have tested in various light settings. Will post when i get a chance
Edit: seems to be a "raising of expectations" effect. I will test tomorrow in better light. Compared to my note 2 it is winning out by far in low light, which was my test at first
Slesh, have you moved on to the s5? My biggest complaint on the note 2 is the low light capabilities. I'll be interested to hear how this pans out with the camera. I've been due an upgrade for months but just haven't been won over really with any of the new releases..

last night did side by sides with Note 2 and s5 in low light, S5 blew it out of the water. At first I was upset at clarity of s5 in a certain lighting, then tried Note 2 in same scene and saw it was pitch black in that area by comparison. Was like a night vision difference. There still seems however to be a blotchiness/effect it seems going on in pics when I zoom in on the the pics. But it might just be me

I had this problem with my ATT model
the hot spot in the center usually happens with cmos cameras looking at flat gray colors (like a gray floor)
It might be a bad sensor like we had on the m7. The sensors temps would skyrocket and cause colored noise or something to that expent. Have the phone cool down by turning it off for awhile and when u turn it on launch the camera and see if the pink tint is there. If it appears a few moments after it might be the same issue.

Samsung has already acknowledged this issue as a hardware issue in some initial phones and said that the issue is fixed in newer phones. Get your phone replaced. It is not OK to dismiss this as something that is universal. This is specific issue affecting some users.

im pretty sure the issue Samsung is replacing is a "camera Failed" issue

No, They are not doing this just for camera failed error phones. They replaced S5 (exynos version) which had exactly this issue. Pink smudg / hue over entire picture. Even in some moderately lit areas without any grey objects.
In the dark, yes, it does get noisy and blue/purplish on all S5s. But this should not happen in daylight. But it is on some units. I talked to the service supervisor when initially the desk clerk refused to acknowledge the issue. But they indeed had memo from Samsung to either replace the camera units or the phones (those who claimed DOA) if customers complained about this issue.
This is not usual chromatic aberration issue. This is different. It is not happening only on the edges. It is like there is some filter in front of your entire lens. I wish I had saved those images to show what the issue is. I ended up returning the phone in the end. Getting new one in couple of weeks.
