Never had this problem with SM-G900F.
It's happened when I take pics from very close object.

Is the pink hue all over the screen, or just along the edges of objects? Does changing the white balance help?

Just the center of the camera. It's normal? For the scene capture, the problem not persist.

Hm... Try imgur.com. (You don't need an account for it.)
I had this problem with my ATT model
the hot spot in the center usually happens with cmos cameras looking at flat gray colors (like a gray floor)
It might be a bad sensor like we had on the m7. The sensors temps would skyrocket and cause colored noise or something to that expent. Have the phone cool down by turning it off for awhile and when u turn it on launch the camera and see if the pink tint is there. If it appears a few moments after it might be the same issue.

I find pink tint on Samsung phones quite common. My mum's s2 has it (excessive), my note 2 has it and my s5 has it, but very minimal. This only occurs indoors under certain lighting and in centre of the picture.

Samsung has already acknowledged this issue as a hardware issue in some initial phones and said that the issue is fixed in newer phones. Get your phone replaced. It is not OK to dismiss this as something that is universal. This is specific issue affecting some users.

im pretty sure the issue Samsung is replacing is a "camera Failed" issue
you could test 20 phones and find this in 18 of them

No, They are not doing this just for camera failed error phones. They replaced S5 (exynos version) which had exactly this issue. Pink smudg / hue over entire picture. Even in some moderately lit areas without any grey objects.
In the dark, yes, it does get noisy and blue/purplish on all S5s. But this should not happen in daylight. But it is on some units. I talked to the service supervisor when initially the desk clerk refused to acknowledge the issue. But they indeed had memo from Samsung to either replace the camera units or the phones (those who claimed DOA) if customers complained about this issue.
This is not usual chromatic aberration issue. This is different. It is not happening only on the edges. It is like there is some filter in front of your entire lens. I wish I had saved those images to show what the issue is. I ended up returning the phone in the end. Getting new one in couple of weeks.

It definitely looks like something optics and not electronics related. Maybe you should replace your camera module.

Yeah. It tells me: optics. The camera module is an integrated component anyway it does 95% of the imaging job all alone.

Same on Galaxy S1, S3 and Nexus One. Haven't seen it on iPhone 4S though.
This is white balance related. Unfortunately it depends a lot on the illumination in the room (as is mostly visible in darker environments).

THat looks like something software, code related. I've never seen this.
All the filtering shows is red is being removed. The fact that it shows up in certain amount of lighting also reinforces that it is not hardware but software related. Is there anyway you can reinstall the camera APK? I don't know how possible or safe that would be.
Its seen in other camera applications like 360 camera etc...
So the fault may be the driver.

My phone is having this pinkish tint issue. I can observe this issue on white text and also while watching videos. I want to know whether this is a software issue or the hardware one. If it is hardware issue, I can apply for DOA for a new one. Please advise.

There are several S4 thread covering this ... at the moment it hard to tell if it's HW or SW. Try to read some of the threads and see if the symptoms fits on your device

Pink tint is NOT software related. It is a hardware fault.
AMOLED displays have had this issue since the Galaxy S1.

YES and NO.
IMO this is how AMOLED works and Samsung must find a way to calibrate screen in a way that we can have "real" black with minimal smear, and they just didn't this right yet.
Pink tint in part of the screen is faulty HW
Equally distributed pink tint is SW
Agreed

Hey guys, finally went to customer care and convinced them about the pink tint. As they didn't have another S4 with them to compare, I told them to compare the whites with S3. There was this bluish tint in S3 and mine with this pink tint. So lot of difference there with these Amoled displays. I got the DOA finally and went back to the shop where I bought the phone. They gave a new one in exchange for this.
But the new one is also showing the same issue with the pinkish tint (for the whole display). I am worried now whether this issue is there for the initial batches or this is a software issue which can be resolved in the future update.

If I receive another DOA, I have to go to the same shop for exchange for a new one. I guess they have received this faulty batch and I would get the same issue with the new one again. Thinking of going to customer care and telling them to replace only the display as it will be still under warranty instead of getting the whole phone replaced in which case I am afraid I will receive another faulty one.

Maybe is due to screen protector? I try to put another screen protector on the existing one and the effect when i tilt the phone is more pronunced! I do not want to remove my spiegen screen protector to try, i'm afraid of dust... but i've tried the same thing with galaxy s3 and the screen color doesn't shift so much as galaxy s4...maybe is for different productive process of the screen?
Just want to let every developer know, I have a possible way to fix the purple tint.
This is my findings...
When you set your saturation and explosure to -1, the purple tint just gone. But saturation -1 seems too much for the photo. It is ideal to have -0.5 or somthing.
It is nice that if a developer know how to modify the Camera setting and make it default.

Hey,

It definitely has to do something with the saturation..
My resaults:
1. Saturation -2 others 0 - no purple tint but white tint on the sides.
2. Saturation -2 contrast +2 - no purple tint at all and even less white tint! Though i didn't try to snap a photo.
3. Saturation +2 - my screen is ****ing red!!
Or set ISO to 100 and it goes away too.
It's annoying. I had a phone replaced because it had really bad blue and sometimes purple tints in low light pics.
The replacement was fine. I then upgraded to 4.3 (ARHD) with the newest firmware (3.22) and the problem has returned. I still have a nandroid of 4.2.2 so may downgrade.

Funny, i still think this is hardware related, while many people report that at ISO 100 it disappears mine still shows it, even with this trick mine was still pink unless the saturation was at -2 which turns pictures black and white.
It's deft hardware related, not software.. The setting adjustments you talk about might 'lessen' the haze, bit it ruins the picture.. They are bad/wrongly positioned sensors within the phone itself. Unfortunately
*s¡gned
I think it's heat related. Seems that the red /purple gets worse when phone is running hot
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk 2
Mine is stone cold and it still happens. Since it didn't happen prior to the 4.2.2 update, it definitely isn't a hardware issue.
Firmware related?
Sent from my One using Tapatalk 4
I'm fairly sure it is a software issue. I heard somewhere that every camera sensor does this (I think it as in a anandtech podcast) and it is then taken care if in software to make it look good. If this is true then HTC did a pretty bad job of mapping the sensors characteristics.

Heat can cause magenta tint to image sensors - this happened also when my DSLR's sensor overheated a bit.
Anyways, I checked mine and seems normal, does not have any tinting - on 4.3 :?

Yes. My camera was perfectly fine till I updated the firmware. Now it's stuck this way even going back and forth. I don't know if the driver for the camera gets broken or something... It sucks.
Just bought a HTC One Nordic today - it came with firmware 4.1.2 which is now updated to stock 4.2.2 - and I have had alot of purple tint on both firmwares especially on indoor shots - sigh
So much the camera is more or less useless.

I have had my Verizon 64 GB Note 5 for about 6 days now and since day 1 I have noticed that the screen color when on a white background is not uniform. My phone appears to have a section that has a red hue to it around the left side and more of a blueish hue to the right side of the screen. It is very noticeable on anything with a white background. I seem to notice it the most when I am reading text. I have gone back to the Verizon store I got the phone from and looked at their demo model and it seems to have the same issue. I also went to my local Best Buy and looked at 3 other Note 5's and all except one of Best Buy's seemed to have the issue.
Pull up a white background on your Note 5. Do you see this? I am going to take my phone back and swap it out this weekend, But with so many that I have seen with the issue I am not confident that the new one will be any better.
EDIT: Added poll
Got some pics of mine. NOTE!!!! Pictures do slightly exaggerate the issue

I wonder if a bad batch got shipped to my area? It's strange that 4/5 of the phones that I looked at had the issue. This is making me hopeful that I will get a good one when I go swap it out
Yes I have the same issue, imported phone from Singapore.
My 32gb Verizon model has this, except it's my right half of the screen that has the reddish hue. I'm planning on swapping it for a 64gb before my 14 days are up anyway, or else I'd have already returned it. It's incredibly annoying while reading text.
It's like the matrix effect. Once you've taken the blue pill you can't ignore it. I see tinting on every single amoled device I look at now.

Ha! I have been looking at all my co workers phones and I do see uneven back lighting on almost all of them but none have 2 distinctly different colors on each side of the screen like the Note 5 does. I could handle the uneven back lighting but the 2 colors on the Note 5 make me cringe every time I look at it for more than a few seconds. My co worker's iPhone 6 plus has a fairly uneven backlight from left to right but there are no specific colors illuminated more than others so it's easy to ignore at least for me.

You know what's weird. I owned a Note 4 on 3 of the 4 big carriers and the AT&T one was the only one that was bearable. It seems like its not as bad on the Korean models, which seem to be exclusive to AT&T.
This is what it looks like on mine
I have the 64gb White from AT&T and I cannot see this at all on mine. Colors look fairly cool throughout, not seeing any discoloration or even uneven backlighting.
no discolouration from what i can tell. though i do notice the colours (or WB) of the panel are different than my S6e panel which is warmer in all Display Modes (at full brightness).

I posted this in a verizon note 4 section. Would you guys return this Note 4? I bought it on ebay and it said excellent condition. Cosmetically, it is like a 9/10, but when a white background shows, it shows the screen burn in. Bought it for 180 plus shipping.

If they did not state screen burn in, in the description, return it. There are other Note 4's out there that are in great shape.
First, from the pic you posted, I can't see anything wrong with the screen. Maybe it's just not being picked up by the camera, or maybe I just can't see it (I do have my glasses on though), I don't know.
Second, it's a 3(?) year old phone at this point. If it's cosmetically in great condition, and it's still usable, and the screen issue (which again, I can't really see in the pic) isn't distracting while you're using it, then I say keep it. Especially if(?) you're just using it as a secondary/backup device.

Well so far didn't had this problem
Guys, even as a back up to my S7 edge, I have my sim in the Note 4 right now. Honestly, besides specs, the S7 edge has the fingerprint going and better camera imo. If the Note 4 had the fingerprint scanner and Better cam, I might've considered my S7 edge as a back up lol. maybe

I returned it. I bought a better one, but it has a pink tint/hue near the bottom half. Excellent conditio, though, not too much of a hindrance.

We can't! We would have to see a picture of the screen taken by another device and even then the burn-in would have to be very significant in order for it to show up on a picture.

If you don't believe me try taking a picture of your device's homescreen with another device and see what happens.

Yes really! How a screenshot is supposed to show burn in issue, if there is any? It just snaps the content of the display, whatever is on it, not a hardware issue like screen burn in, cause its happening on the OLED panel!

LOL
Try to take it to samsung service center, they can replace it. Mine had terrible burn in, vertical thick yellow lines going up and down. But I was within warranty.
BUT! What you have in the First post picture looks like a replacement screen with poorly cured glue. Had one like that on LG G3 replacement China screen
