Have you tried lowering the notification volume? Go to sounds-volume and slide notification volume all the way to the left.

Lowering the volume wasn't an option, the sound came through when listening to music, ect that's why it was annoying, anyways I did a full factory reset and that solved the problem

Audible Selection Problem? Anyone?

My volume works fine for music, videos, notifications....but it makes absolutely no noise when audible selection is checked and you touch the screen or use the keyboard. Suggestions?

mine works when audible selection is checked. I clicked notification bar and it makes a *CLICK sound, is ur sound settings high after u checked the box? It disappeared when i put my volume all the way done. Try checking the box and restarting it. If that doesnt work then i'm sorry maybe someone else will have a better answer =(

What's up with netflix?

Can anyone out there tell me what is the deal with the volume going mute automatically when I start up NETFLIX to watch a movie it didn't start this until I did the 4.2 update and so far the only way I can get sound back is to shut down and reboot I've noticed the speaker with the line drawn through it and even if you turn the volume all the way up you get Nada does anyone have or know of a fix for this any help would be appreciated Thank You so very much and GOD BLESS YOU GUYS

I don't have that problem, but does your Netflix app lock up frequently? It seems like every time I search for something, if it's not the very first thing I click on, it won't load the video, add to queue, nothing. Just sits there until I tap away from the pop-up screen.
No mine does not do that just the mute thing you might try clearing your cache and data and see if that helps you GOD BLESS YOU

The first thing you need to do to go into settings/sound and make sure volume for the ringtone is turned up. Then make sure there is even a ringtone selected. See if any sound occurs when you try out one of the ringtones. If notifications work, should be something very simple.

I've already checked this:Volume is Up,Ringtone is Selected..I've also changed the ringtone but it's Always the same
The strange thing is that ,when I'm selecting the ringtone,I can hear the ringtone selected but when i receive a call I can't hear the ringtone *confused*
DId you factory reset before you flashed CM? Maybe it's a bug from the nightly?

When I come back home I'll try to re flash the previous Nightly that didn't give me this problem.. I'll write here the response

Maybe check these also: Settings/Profile - make sure silent is not selected, also Settings/Quiet Hours. If there is nothing here, then I would reflash your current ROM or try flashing another altogether just to see if the problem persists.

[Q] how to silence everything but the alarm?

There must be a way of muting all sound from the phone (calls, notifications, etc) except for the alarm .... Besides manually lowering the volume for each volume

Try Silent Sleep from Google Play, works well for me or Mute Ringer.
Hold down power and press mute (speaker with a line through it icon)

Check out AudioManager. It's a pay app but allows you to control all individual volumes. I use the widget on my home screen when I set my alarm on my phone and turn sound off and I can verify that the alarm volume is still on.

depending on why you need this why don't try airplane mode?
even if you don't need data connection, is clear

I still want to be connected to the internet to allow apps and stuff to update and work in the background I just want to be able to mute all the sound except the alarm in 1 click
My alarm stays on full volume regardless of all the other sounds. I put my phone on vibrate every night and it doesn't ever mess with the alarm volume

Just put you phone in silent mode. Long press power and press silent.
Alarm will never be turned off regardless of the profile. That's a feature!

Not sure one ROM you're on... But lowering the volume using the volume rockers doesn't effect my alarm notification volume level.

exactly the vol buttons only effects calls, music etc, the alarm has to be changed manually,
there's also quiet hours so you dont need to change it every night
Such a big discussion about nothing. When you put your phone on silent, meaning all the sounds are off, you will still hear the alarm.
I change it ask the time depending on my usage.

Help with sound going really quiet

So this problem just started today. Everything I open or do the sound is very quiet, but when I hold the home button and swipe all the running apps away it fixes it for a few seconds until I try to ooen anything again. Even if there is just the messaging app open.
Anyone experiencing this issue?
