I Flashed Last CM Nightly yesterday and I noticed that now, when I receive a call,my telephone don't reproduce the ringtone.. Notifications-Music and Voice in-call works perfectly but there's nothing to do with ringtone, how can I fix this problem?
Thanks in Advance!

The first thing you need to do to go into settings/sound and make sure volume for the ringtone is turned up. Then make sure there is even a ringtone selected. See if any sound occurs when you try out one of the ringtones. If notifications work, should be something very simple.

I've already checked this:Volume is Up,Ringtone is Selected..I've also changed the ringtone but it's Always the same
The strange thing is that ,when I'm selecting the ringtone,I can hear the ringtone selected but when i receive a call I can't hear the ringtone *confused*
DId you factory reset before you flashed CM? Maybe it's a bug from the nightly?
R: Problem with ringtones(the phone is always mute)
Yep..I made a full wipe.

When I come back home I'll try to re flash the previous Nightly that didn't give me this problem.. I'll write here the response

Maybe check these also: Settings/Profile - make sure silent is not selected, also Settings/Quiet Hours. If there is nothing here, then I would reflash your current ROM or try flashing another altogether just to see if the problem persists.

I am using CM RC3..
When a call comes, neither the phone is vibrating nor ringing.. But it is working fine for SMS..
I checked the settings too.. Vibration is on and volume is also full..
What is the problem?
I am not sure why it's doing that, but my phone is working perfectly with my notifications.

The only thing I can think of, short of doing a full wipe and reflash, is to either change the ringtone, or download Rings Extended free from the market. It lets you choose songs on your sdcard for notifications. It might work.
There must be a way of muting all sound from the phone (calls, notifications, etc) except for the alarm .... Besides manually lowering the volume for each volume

Try Silent Sleep from Google Play, works well for me or Mute Ringer.
Hold down power and press mute (speaker with a line through it icon)

Check out AudioManager. It's a pay app but allows you to control all individual volumes. I use the widget on my home screen when I set my alarm on my phone and turn sound off and I can verify that the alarm volume is still on.

depending on why you need this why don't try airplane mode?
even if you don't need data connection, is clear

I still want to be connected to the internet to allow apps and stuff to update and work in the background I just want to be able to mute all the sound except the alarm in 1 click
My alarm stays on full volume regardless of all the other sounds. I put my phone on vibrate every night and it doesn't ever mess with the alarm volume

Just put you phone in silent mode. Long press power and press silent.
Alarm will never be turned off regardless of the profile. That's a feature!

Not sure one ROM you're on... But lowering the volume using the volume rockers doesn't effect my alarm notification volume level.

exactly the vol buttons only effects calls, music etc, the alarm has to be changed manually,
there's also quiet hours so you dont need to change it every night
Such a big discussion about nothing. When you put your phone on silent, meaning all the sounds are off, you will still hear the alarm.
I change it ask the time depending on my usage.

Hello XDA! My Galaxy S4 Front Speaker stopped working properly recently. All ROMS I've tried, it's still the same, even Stock. When I call, there is sound at first, then gone, but speakerphone works. I've tried clicking receiver in the Service Menu (*#0*#) and there is sound! I have sound in my front speaker during calls like normal, but is gone after I reboot and I have to do it again. Is there a permanent fix? Thanks in Advance!

I am not sure if this will help or not but if you have anything like Beats, Viper and DSP Manager installed
or flashed you must uninstall them. Also if you have any audio mods (audio louder flashable zips) you
need to remove/delete those kinds of mods as well.
If I were you I would also backup any audio apps I had which are sound/music related and then
uninstall them all except for the stock music player which comes with stock roms.
Then reboot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot the phone and test your
phone and see if this solves your problem.
If worst comes to worse and it still has the issue then you will need to flash a 100% Stock ODIN flash
non-rooted rom which is the same model that came with your phone and test it again see if its working
properly.
If its still NOT working properly then its a hardware issue, hopefully your phone still under warranty.
If it is you need to return the phone and either ask for an exchange or repair.
Good luck!

try doing a full wipe then flash a stock rom
I went back to Full Stock with wipe.. it did the same thing.. I still need to go to Service Menu. Would anyone possibly know if the Google Play Edition ROMS have a service menu if i flashed that instead?

On the dialer dial "#0*# then click the "call" button (General Test Mode)
it will give you a lot of options including "speaker" testing.
Good luck!
It takes less time to click the THANKS button then typing "thank you"...
even for aosp based roms?

Speaker issue
Hello there, I'm also suffering with the same issue.
Did the Test with *#0*# and no sound coming from the speaker at all, only from the receiver on the top of the phone.
Using cm 10.1.3 my phone refuses to ring when receiving a call. Have checked every sound setting I can find and I am not on vibrate either or muted for that matter. Sound works fine everywhere else. Thanks for listening.

Yes.. At time my nexus simply loses its notification sounds.
Media sounds still works just the notifying sound disappears.
And after a reboot it works fine.
Its the 3rd time I've faced such bug.
Has anyone else faced such bug ?

I'm on version M and still having the same problem.
Count me in as well. Mine does the same thing. I wonder if it has to do with the doze features

I switched back to the stock messaging app today and so far it hasn't missed any notification sounds. It may have something to do with 3rd party apps not being optimized for marshmallow. I'm going to try and turn off battery optimization on my preferred messaging app and see if that helps.

But mine doesn't notify anything:/
WhatsApp, Viber, text messages, calls..
Nothing at all..
Were you in same situation or only messaging app was giving problem?

Yeah I have been having the same problem with the messenger app, Gmail, as well as my 3rd party apps... I also use a moto 360 and that won't notify me either so Idk what's going on... It's annoying though especially with text messages...

For me it seems to be only 3rd party apps. Stock apps are coming through fine.
not sure if this will work for anyone else, but twice now i have had my notifications and alarms silenced. i figured out that both times it was after connecting to a bluetooth decice (once a speaker and once a ear bud) - even though i turned bluetooth off, and it showed as off, it was still trying to send the sounds to the bluetooth device. i turned bluetooth on and then off again and sounds worked.
I have the same issue, and I can confirm that it is bluetooth related for me as well. It seems to happen every time I connect with my car or my bluetooth earphones. I'd have to then turn off/on bluetooth or reboot to start getting audio for alarms and notifications.
FWIW, this doesn't seem to be the only bluetooth issue with this phone(or maybe Android M). I also have an issue with bluetooth causing wakelocks and preventing doze from kicking in (there's a thread on that as well).
I have the same issue and I think mine is related to bluetooth as well. After I started using a smartwatch that syncs with the phone via bluetooth, I started having the issue. Alarms, phone calls, messages etc don't lose sound. I have to turn the phone off and back on in order for notifications to work again. At times, sound from the keyboard of media works, but not notifications. At times media doesn't have any sound neither. I don't know if it's the Nexus 6P's problem or Android M's but this blows.
I'm having same issue but I don't use Bluetooth. Randomly lose all notification sounds. All stock apps, even ringtone and key sounds. Rebooting phone resolves it. But just now it's happened again, I then went into settings, sounds, and turned key sounds off then on again and bingo, all notification sounds are back to normal.

Same thing for me. I couldn't even go into system settings to modify the sound. It just hangs and eventually crashes. A reboot always fixes it. I did use bluetooth. Any notifications with vibration still vibrates though. Not rooted, or running exposed.
Just a quick update from my post earlier. Since I posted regarding my same issue I have since disabled the nexus imprint lock screen, which I had setup to unlock my phone, and a day has passed and all is good. Maybe a coincidence, I don't know but I've got all my notifications working as they should be.

Same issue here... This needs to be fix asap. Can't risk my alarm not having sound.

Update to my complaint, it still fails after sometime even when I don't use bluetooth.
Attached screenshot indicates it's related to the media storage permissions maybe?
This is pretty bad since I won't hear my calls or any other notifications!

Same here. At first I thought it was related to bluetooth but after disabling bluetooth and rebooting the phone, getting notifications and the losing them again, I can say that the issue doesn't seem to be related to bluetooth.
I've missed alarms and of course calls and messages. This blows!
