I know they took it off the market and there are apk's on threads here. However I am unable to get anything to work. I have downloaded 4 versions of the app all from different links and got the same result from version 1.5.4 and below. When downloading through the stock browser it instantly fails to download the apk, and through Dolphin it will say the download completed but it is always a 708kb file that I show in my downloads afterward, when the apk's I was downloading were all actually 2+MB in size and of course the files could not be opened once downloaded. Am I going insane here or what the hell could possibly be wrong? Sorry the post got lengthy.
Download an app called Friend Me. Its better than the Facebook app.

Want the Facebook apk?
Here:

this is the one I have, it works perfectly.
I hate how it ALWAYS refreshes. Every time I leave the app then come right back to it, it just refreshes everything. Ugh.
I fap to the porn forums on Tapatalk 2
I haven't really noticed. The lag when it accessing the bookmarks is painful though...
Yup really annoys me. Especially when you go to type something in and it refreshes and doesn't include what you just typed.

Chrome sucks. Get xscope 7. It is what chrome should have been
Even when going back to a previous viewed page in chrome it refreshes. Very annoying and totally kills the browsing experience.

I use to love Xscope (Amazon free app). Decided to buy it since it is now JB which Amazon won't upgrade to. It's real nice UI... but still isn't as good as it is on my Galaxy Player (GB). On my Player ANY mobile site will pinch zoom. On the N7, no mobile site seems to pinch zoom. This means "text" and "zoom" levels have to be "perfect" and changed quite often (since all sites seem to have different text sizes). I may start using Desktop mode, but I really like many mobile sites. Chrome works great. I was hoping the updated Xscope would be its replacement. Good thing it was $3 of my free $25!
PS: I never noticed a refresh in Chrome.

the android(aosp) browser, not chrome, doesnt refresh. and plays flash just fine, btw.
I've noticed that when I open several links in other tabs, when I get to the tabs they are blank and load or refresh the page once I switch to the tab.
I am not having this problem, in fact I was just viewing three pages simultaneously (switching between them) while on Skype and no reloading :S and while typing this I switched over to chrome and all 3 tabs still loaded.. :/

Hey guys, I know this is random, but I need to know. You see my brother has Kaspersky Parental Controls on his Nexus 7 and he has to use the stock browser so the internet filter works. He found out if he uses the incognito tab, he can get around it. Is there a way to disable incognito mode on the stock browser(NOT Chrome)? Or is there an older version of the stock browser without incognito?
He cant use any other 3rd party browser either(such as Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin, etc), otherwise the internet filter doesn't work.
Thanks

I hardly think that's an appropriate punishment. Wouldn't she be better off banning him from using it?
An option could be some sort of parental lock requiring a password to open apps, and locking the browser down. That way he'll only have access to other non internet apps. And if the parental controls you're probably paying money for have such a big flaw, then you should be asking for your money back and finding another.
Another option (albeit quite extreme) would be decompliling the browser apk, finding some part of the code that has to do with enabling incognito and having a tinker. This might not work, but it's probably the only way
EDIT: And it's your responsibility as the older sibling to have a chat with him about either hiding what he's doing a lot better, or finding another source. If his mother has caught him then he's doing it wrong
I really like Dolphin and UC browser but both of them leave stuff running even after you've closed the app. If you look in settings, apps, running apps, you'll find that there are services and processes that are still running long after you've finished using the app. UC browser actually runs even after you've chosen 'quit' from the menu!
Boat browser is far better behaved and so is Chrome but Chrome has no full screen mode and Boat a little clunky to use.
Am I right in thinking that these running processes are using my battery?
I've emailed support for both UC and Dolphin about this and while they're quick to reply about other issues, they are both strangely silent about these running processes..
Can anyone suggest a browser that runs full screen and doesn't pound the battery?

Try Naked Browser. It doesnt leave anything running and is very lightweight, with flash support and all. Try the free version first from the description of the play store app.

Maybe you can try “lightning browser”, its fast. However, in my own experience, i dont like the little options for me to choose and the full screen mode of it, coz in full screen mode I must scroll to the top and overscroll to bring-out the tabs which is not so convience in my view, but i think you might give a try.
P.S. The free version of this browser supports only 5 tabs and 5 bookmarks, plus version dont have the restriction
pay or g00gle it (seqrch for #APP_NAME apk) to get the plus version

Hmmm, it ran for me at once, but I guess that was cos I was using a custom ROM. Try one with Hybrid settings and compatibility view - Rootbox, PA or PACRom. Or maybe install it on your smartphone, and then try porting it through titanium backup, might work.

You can always get the current version of Naked Browser from the web site here: http://nakedbrowser.com/android/
Dolphin had been phoning home all visited URLs to their server, even unencrypted https URLs which is a serious blunder. They're not the only ones pulling crap like this. Most Android browsers are spying on users in some way.
In response to this situation, I made Naked Browser. It will never spy or monitor in any way. There aren't even ads. It does not run on boot, does not phone home data, etc. It is just a web browser. If you use the exit button, it actually exits. If you return to your home screen, it goes to sleep and does not wake up unless you go back to it. Here's the XDA thread for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929663

Here's an analysis of the current Ocean Browser APK: http://mobilesandbox.org/xml_report_static/?q=356301
Some interesting items:

Execution of external commands

android.permission.READ_CONTACTS
It is not widely known but apps can query contact data without requiring the READ_CONTACTS permission in the manifest. Why would a web browser need to read your contact data?
android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS
android.permission.USE_CREDENTIALS
These could potentially be used by the browser to auto-login to Google but they could also be used for really evil purposes.
android.permission.READ_LOGS
Basically no app should have this privilege. All kinds of data can be gathered this way.
Execution of external commands
This is scary because it means the app may be extending its tentacles almost anywhere, especially if you are rooted.
Cipher(AES/CBC/PKCS5Padding)
They're encrypting data, presumably to phone it home. WebView-based browsers do not need to do this as the WebView component handles all encrypted traffic. This is something extra added by this app which may have a legitimate use but may also be phoning home data about users.

Justin.tv doesn't have the android app out yet- at least according to their site.
BUT, justin.tv does in fact work from firefox vers 24 (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox) with flash 11.1.115.81 (http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/android/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk).
I have mine set up that I click to activate the plug in...I press it, wait a few seconds then the video loads. You need to kill firefox if it's running in the background when you install flash. After you restart firefox, you should be golden.

Well, in the nicest way possible- I'm not gonna d/l the one you posted and install it...(and I won't ask anything about the version or if it's legitimate or not). But I can say I'll install the one from the market I found by looking up the app by the filename of what you posted in the app store there's a free version for it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.bantamstudio.streamiefree&hl=en and it does seem to have some playback issues.
By further looking at some of the user comments of that app, I would think that it's a general issue occurring with it and you may want to either spring for the paid version (for real) or contact the developer of the app. It would seem to be that they know best what's occurring with it and can make the adjustments for things to work as expected. Also, by the comments on the reviews, it sounds like the developer broke something when they did their last update.
EDIT: Pretty much says it all in the description of the app in the play store, buddy:
"FLASH IS REQUIRED. Streamie will help you install flash if you don't have it already.
Please rate Streamie 4 or 5 stars if you feel we deserve it. If not, please contact us and tell us how we can do better.
If you have any bugs please contact us directly so that we can quickly support you.
Currently only Justin.tv and Twitch.tv streams are available. We are working hard to add other video services to Streamie.
KNOWN ISSUES:
* The flash player will stop playing if you touch the playing video. This is a problem with the player that Justin.tv provides. We are working on a solution to this.
* Sometimes Justin.tv or Twitch.tv will take a long time to respond to a request. Try refreshing.
* If you have an ad blocker on your phone, it can take a long time to load the stream. This is because the ad request needs to time out."

Yeah, that's what everyone else told them too...and the links were already provided....it's not necessarily flash that's the issue, as indicated my previous post and by the OP uploading the apk they're using... So, that's a pretty good indicator it has to do with the app they're using- that - coupled with the information on the app in the playstore reviews/comments and known issues in the app description - as also indicated in my previous post...oh and it's also outlined how the installer for flash you mention (that was mentioned earlier in this thread) ends up also working in firefox as indicated in my post prior to my last one as well...so I think that's a fairly good indicator that flash or installing flash isn't the crux of the problem...
call me silly, but if I could take the liberty to take a wild guess here, I think it's the app....okay maybe not such a wild guess, but it's the streaming app they're using- as indicated in my previous post...
