App require Flash Player and S4 not compatible? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Is there any way to use apps like Justin.tv in Galaxy s4?
Won't let me play the tv channel cuz the flash player doesn't work for S4 devices
Plz help!!

You must install flash player then use a browser with it enabled. Dolphin is okay but fire fox is more stable when it comes to flash.

You can find the adobe flash player apk in themes and apps

Boat Browser also supports flash

I have yet to find a browser besides Boat that works. And many sites require flash 11.5 or higher. Its just a bust. Not sure what's up with the mobile world these days.

Dolphin Browser HD
I've had success with Dolphin browser.
It's a slow SOB, but it works.

Justin.tv doesn't have the android app out yet- at least according to their site.
BUT, justin.tv does in fact work from firefox vers 24 (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox) with flash 11.1.115.81 (http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/android/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk).
I have mine set up that I click to activate the plug in...I press it, wait a few seconds then the video loads. You need to kill firefox if it's running in the background when you install flash. After you restart firefox, you should be golden.

Well, in the nicest way possible- I'm not gonna d/l the one you posted and install it...(and I won't ask anything about the version or if it's legitimate or not). But I can say I'll install the one from the market I found by looking up the app by the filename of what you posted in the app store there's a free version for it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.bantamstudio.streamiefree&hl=en and it does seem to have some playback issues.
By further looking at some of the user comments of that app, I would think that it's a general issue occurring with it and you may want to either spring for the paid version (for real) or contact the developer of the app. It would seem to be that they know best what's occurring with it and can make the adjustments for things to work as expected. Also, by the comments on the reviews, it sounds like the developer broke something when they did their last update.
EDIT: Pretty much says it all in the description of the app in the play store, buddy:
"FLASH IS REQUIRED. Streamie will help you install flash if you don't have it already.
Please rate Streamie 4 or 5 stars if you feel we deserve it. If not, please contact us and tell us how we can do better.
If you have any bugs please contact us directly so that we can quickly support you.
Currently only Justin.tv and Twitch.tv streams are available. We are working hard to add other video services to Streamie.
KNOWN ISSUES:
* The flash player will stop playing if you touch the playing video. This is a problem with the player that Justin.tv provides. We are working on a solution to this.
* Sometimes Justin.tv or Twitch.tv will take a long time to respond to a request. Try refreshing.
* If you have an ad blocker on your phone, it can take a long time to load the stream. This is because the ad request needs to time out."

Yeah, that's what everyone else told them too...and the links were already provided....it's not necessarily flash that's the issue, as indicated my previous post and by the OP uploading the apk they're using... So, that's a pretty good indicator it has to do with the app they're using- that - coupled with the information on the app in the playstore reviews/comments and known issues in the app description - as also indicated in my previous post...oh and it's also outlined how the installer for flash you mention (that was mentioned earlier in this thread) ends up also working in firefox as indicated in my post prior to my last one as well...so I think that's a fairly good indicator that flash or installing flash isn't the crux of the problem...
call me silly, but if I could take the liberty to take a wild guess here, I think it's the app....okay maybe not such a wild guess, but it's the streaming app they're using- as indicated in my previous post...

Wonder if it could be because of the os version too - 4.2.2 on the S4. I think the S3 & note are still on 4.2.1.
I know it was like that with the Crackle app & honeycomb on some devices there was issue playing for a bit.
Anyhow, glad folks got something figured out and/or alternatives.

The thing that sucks is all the sites blocking mobile flash player. Hulu, nbc, foxsports, tons of sites detect which version of flash you are using and block their content. People that are getting the google tv's are experiencing this too. So far, everything I would have used flash for, I haven't been able to anyway.

Curious, I tried both of these, but they won't install. I get the screen to install, but nothing happens when I hit the "Install" button. The "Cancel" button works fine. BTW, I do have the "Unknown Sources" checked... I am not rooted, but that shouldn't matter? I'm wondering why I can't install an APK???

The stock Hulu app plays ads just fine, but it won't play the actual video. I've tried everything I could think of, including re-starting numerous times.
Stock version was updated tonight and now works. I too was just able to view the ads only, but now everything works! Yay!!

[Q] Stable version of Flash

Hello guys I am looking for stable version of Flash for my nexus 4 running 4.2. Is there a stable version that will work with out flickering black screen when I use Firefox. Do I have to root my phone to get it
Any help would be great.

Im using this.... got no problems...
Currently watching the West Ham Chelsea game
Hmm. I downloaded and installed that on my first N4 and it worked flawlessly; I had no problems watching videos on cnn.com with Firefox. However, since then I have replaced that N4 with another -- the camera LED was non-functional on the first one -- and also received the update for 4.2.1. Now when I play cnn.com videos, I get sound but no video. I'm not sure what's responsible for that change -- cnn.com, the hardware, or the new version of Android. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm trying to install flash on 4.2.1. I can't get it to install. Maybe Google blocked it with some changes?

Right. CNN is the only site I visit regularly that uses Flash, but I tracked down another site and tried it and it worked. The funny thing is that CNN worked for me last week, and it was a bit too coincidental that it worked on my first N4 but not on my second for me to think it was something that CNN changed on their site. I guess maybe it was, though. Thanks for the reply.

[VIDEO] Adobe Flash Install for Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I know HTML5 has been widely adopted. Let's face it though. There are sites which will not change over and resources which are Flash based that will never be converted. That's why I always install Flash Player on my Android devices.
Note: Search function on XDA is disabled. Not sure if this is a repost here. If it is, sorry. Two, I did make a couple of errors on the video. I have a young baby girl that needs a lot of attention. I did not reshoot.
Prep
Make sure you go to settings > general tab > security and allow install from unknown locations.
Download
Flash download link: http://flash.cricketusers.com
Go to that link from your device. It will start the download automatically. This is a version I've used for a number of devices for a good amount of time.
Browsers
Download your favorite browser. It won't work on stock, and it won't work on all browsers in general. I'm sure people will start to chime in one what worked and what didn't.
Dolphin Browser - works and it is my choice because it allows for an always on option. This device is powerful, and I think it can process most sites with ease.Boat Browser - didn't see an always on option here. Looks like it has to be on demand. This means you have to click the little download icon to load the Flash object. That was one of the errors in the video. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, gripes, b..., moans, etc feel free to post a reply!

I haven't checked the OP but Adobe regularly updated Flash Player for Android to patch security vulnerabilities. The .81 link is the latest and, as it turns out, final version so it's not surprising that the file length is different.

I would have used Dolphin with this but Dolphin along with basically any other browser I install has terrible stuttering scrolling on the Note 3. So for now I'm using Chrome Beta which shows the least amount of stuttering.
My need for flash has greatly been reduced over time but it's great we still have a method for using it. Thanks OP.
