I don't know if this is the best place to post but I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
A number of my Outlook contacts have Birthdays entered in the Birthday field with a 7 day reminder. Although I only get 1 reminder in Outlook on the TyTn I get 3 reminders for the same event at the same time (it used to be 2 but it's never been only 1!).
I know I don't have duplicate events in Outlook because I've checked.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
I had the same problem. It was caused by multiple backing up and restores under different regional settings.
Solution:
Remove all calendar events (SKTools), kill the partnership, resyncronize. Don't play with regional settings.
Hi folks,
I've spent the last 8 hours organising all of my contacts getting their email addresses, phone numbers and birthdays all up-to-date on my Google Apps 'Contacts', and synced via Exchange to my mobile. Lovely jubbly. However, their birthdays never got transferred into my phone's calendar (which kind of defeated the point of me adding them all to the contacts!). So I downloaded and ran 'B2C' (Birthday to Calendar) which worked beautifully.
Only there's one issue - the reminder time that's been set for all of these recurring all-day events is 2 hours, which would mean that I'd only be reminded about each persons' birthday at 10pm the night before (which, to be honest, isn't ideal when a card and present are in order!).
So I was wondering if there was any way of changing the reminder time of each and every recurring all-day event in my calendar (since the birthdays are the only recurring all-day events I have in there) to 3.5 days instead of 2 hours? Can I run a batch script or something to do the job?
Trying to avoid having to use Outlook if I can, since I'm on a Mac and it'll be a pain in the arse trying to get all of that set up and working properly on my VM.
Cheers!
Hi All,
I had searched through the internet and thsi forum and could not find similar issues which I have encountered.
Just bought my HD2 and happily set up the exchange sync. Everything synced as per expected except of the calendar. whenever it synced, it goes into an infinit loop (calender entries goes into the 10s of thousands!) and doesn't stop at all.
FYI, I have checked the settings many times and I'm 101% sure that I have only set this thing to sync for calender up to just 2 weeks ago.
Due to this infinite loop, I can't sync my calendar as everytime it active sync fires up, it chews up my CPU usage to 97% and the drains my battery.
Please help guys as i'm getting desperate.
Thanks!
hi guys, any suggestions/advice? Thanks.
I work with Exchange daily, and I've seen calendar sync problems before, but never this exact problem, so the suggestion I'm about to offer is just a best guess.
I would back up my calendar folder to a pst file, and then delete all my calendar items. You can do this by changing the calendar view to "category", doing a select all, and then hitting delete. (warning, this will break any meetings you’ve setup with other people on your exchange server).
Once you've deleted all your calendar items, try syncing again. If it starts looping with an empty calendar, I'm at a loss... All I could think to do would be backup your entire Exchange mailbox to a pst, delete your Exchange account and start over, but that would be a major pita.
If after deleting all your calendar items, the looping goes away, try adding a single entry into your calendar and see if it syncs. Then try importing everything back into Outlook, and see if the looping starts up again. Hopefully it won't. If it does, it's almost certainly a particular item that's causing the problem. You'll need to import sections of your calendar and watch for the looping to start. It will just be a slow painful process of elimination to find the item that is causing the problem. Once you've found the item, try deleting it and recreating it.

thanks mate. This is similar to what I had planned for, i.e. since I was only going to sync past 2 weeks' worth of calendar events, I might just archive all events in those previous 2 weeks on outlook (PC) then proceed with active syncing on the HD2. If it works, I would then slowly port the archived events one by one and try to isolate where the problem is. Will be doing this very soon. Stay tuned and thanks for the advice!
All just wanted to say I have resolved this issue.
For some wierd reason, Active sync got stuck (running in infinite loops) at the Exchange calender sync due to some of the past recurring calender events having a 'no end date'.
To resolve this, simply delete all these recurring events bearing 'no end date' and sync again. I did that and it worked!
I have also verified that this problem ONLY happens in the VERY FIRST Calendar sync. Subsequent Exchange Calender sync for recurring events bearing a 'no end date' have no issues syncing.
woohoo!
I'm running into a weird problem. whenever i add an event to my calendar, a day or so later, there will be hundreds of duplicates. i've never had this problem before, and the calendar isnt synced with any other service. has anyone had this problem before?
I just got the LG G2 a few weeks ago and I love it, but I'm having some issues that I've never had before on Previous phones (Previous ones being Moto Maxx, Razr HD Maxx, Note 3, Note 2 & GS4).
First are my exchange contacts aren't syncing to the phone; at least not all of them. I setup my exchange account on the phone the same way I always do, set to push, mail, contacts, calendar etc...Out of my 500 or so contacts only about maybe half actually are on the phone. I go to call someone, and they aren't there, I double check that persons exchange contact in outlook or on my ipad, and it's there; just not on the phone.
The other problem I have is every time I delete an email, I get a new email notification for that (or those) emails I just deleted, when I open the notification it takes me to the email in the deleted items folder.
I'm REALLY hoping someone else here knows how to resolve these issues as otherwise this phone is awesome, but these two issues are driving me bonkers!
Thanks in advance for any and all replies!
