I just got back my milestone from Motorola as there's some problem. They updated to the newest 2.2 firmware. After rooting, I removed the stock MotoNav apk, and tried to install my own MotoNav apk. But it keep saying installation unsuccessful. So I used rootexplorer and moved to system/app. But it didnt show up in the application menu, so I tired to install from system/app, but it still says installation unsucessful.
Anybody knows how to solve it? Thanks in advance!!
Use rootexplorer and delete " com.navngo.igo.javaclient " from / data / data. Reboot to recovery and wipe dalvik/ cache.
Check if com.navngo.igo.javaclient is shown under settings->applications->manage applications-> all. If yes, force stop.
Then try installing.

Did you try pushing the Calender.apk and CalenderProvider.apk to /system/app/ using adb or root explorer. Then changing the file permissions to rw-r-r. Maybe it works. (If it force closes again, clear the application data from /settings/applications/manage applications/all/ and restart. )

Hello. I searched for a problem like mine, but I haven't found an answer. I'm using GingerDX v21 2.3.7. I wan't to install the Xperia Active Launcher, which I have downloaded from two different places :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188048
http://www.mediafire.com/?y2z28bb1z5kn5bu
I tried the both files. I used Astro File Manager, AppInstaller and Root Explorer with full premissions. Also I tried to put the file into system/app I than to install it, but the result was the same - application not installed. I searched for the same problem, but I coulnd't find a solution. So how can I install this Launcher? Any ideas?
P.S. Sorry for the bad English

OK, I have a U8800 (normal, not pro), and have installed the official android 2.3.5.
I have also rooted it (don't know how anymore, I followed the directions in on of the forums).
I would like to try a custom ROM with a new android version (hoping to increase battery life, and have troubles with some apps at the moment anyway). I was thinking about Aurora ICS 4.0.4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492957)
However, I don't understand how I can install ClockWorkMod (http://forum.xda-develpers.com/showthread.php?t=1377390).
Specifically, how to find/mount the /.cust_backup
I have ES File Explorer, and made my root visible (so /)
However, there is no subdirectory that starts with a '.'. So I cannot find /.cust_backup
There is a /cust , but does't seem to be it.
Can anyone give me a hint?
Thx,
T
You have to set Es File Explorer to show hidden files. In android, every file/folder whose name starts with a "." is considered an hidden file, that's why it's not showing it.
Root explorer works better in my opinion but its a paid app.

Hi, I recently downloaded a UPSM manager. It works well but when I use a texting app that isn't stock, I don't receive messages unless I am past the lock screen. Is there any way to fix this?
Running on BPB1
I have tried renaming the apk sms files to match the stock messaging app name and copying it in the system/priv-app folder with no success.
Thank you for any help at all.
