Hi, I recently downloaded a UPSM manager. It works well but when I use a texting app that isn't stock, I don't receive messages unless I am past the lock screen. Is there any way to fix this?
Running on BPB1
I have tried renaming the apk sms files to match the stock messaging app name and copying it in the system/priv-app folder with no success.
Thank you for any help at all.

my friends evo is rooted but he deleted standard email and messaging. Is there any way of getting them back?
anyone have ideas?
Find out what ROM he is running and download a copy of the ROM to a computer. Unzip the file and under /system/app you should find the apk's he uninstalled.
all he did was root, he must still be on stock. once i find the apk's do they need to be flashed or just putting them in the folder on the phone will work?
thanks
I have been trying out a few custom roms, and most of them have a stock messaging app that adds the option to have the screen light up when a text is received. I went back to a stock, rooted, MJA rom, but I would like to have that function back. Does anyone have a copy of that messaging app that I could have? (Or know what it's called and where it's located so I can pull it out of a rom zip?)
Thanks.
EDIT: Found the app. It's called secmms.apk and is located in the system/app folder. Pulled it from another rom, dropped it into the correct location, and it works perfectly. Not my screen lights up when I have a text come in, and I can easily backup messages.
Anyone else using this ROM? I love it but have a couple issues. For some reason i can not edit system files. I wanted to delete gmail.apk and install TBO's version but it is locked. I tried 4 different file managers.

If file manager isn't asking for root, I'd try another file manager (like root file manager from the app store). Try force closing the application prior to removing it. Or you could always try Titanium Backup which has a un-install feature for almost all applications:

thanks i got it to work after purchasing this

Could anyone link to or send me these two files? I did some googling and I found them for older versions of Android but not for the stock lollipop rom for my phone. Flashing my phone with a new ROM isn't an option right now. I was trying to delete the stock calendar app so that Google Calendar would stop asking me to choose between the two when I create a new event with voice commands but accidentally deleted the Calendar storage Apk also. Next time I promise I will make a backup with titanium backup first! I already tried using the files from an older version and also from a sprint s5 but neither of these worked.
I downloaded what I believe to be the stock rom (took the better part of the day since it was on RapidGator: L720VPUGOH1_L720SPTGOH1_L720VPUGOH1_HOME.tar.md5) and I followed rwilco12's guide to extract the files I needed. I set the permissions to rw-r--r-- and moved them to the system/app folder, but Google Calendar and Calendar Storage both still crash and fail. I tried creating a folder the way it was in on the image (in priv-app) but still no dice.
EDIT: Disregard! It's all fixed!
Please see this attached screen shot for details, incase you come across this problem too and need to fix it.
Hi and thank you for reading/responding to my urgent message!
I desperately need a copy of the STOCK (an unedited, default file) version of the NotoColorEmoji.ttf file located at system/fonts .
If you are using Android 4.4.2 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 SM-T330NU Tablet (does the device make a difference?) and haven't previously edited your emojis or this file at all AND your device is rooted, then I need your help!
I screwed up my NotoColorEmoji.ttf file using FlashFire for Android.
I tried to install or flash a custom emojis pack, it didn't work and rendered my tablet useless as each time I rebooted it would initially begin to load then once each startup app would try to initiate I'd get an "Unfortunately, blah blah has stopped working" error, for every app, over and over and over.
So yeah, I'm back now after master resetting the tablet but now my emojis menu on the stock keyboard won't show the previews, they will type out, but I have no way of knowing which one I'm clicking until after I've clicked it. So yeah, it's broked!
I desperately need your stock android 4.4.2 NotoColorEmoji.ttf file so I can overwrite my corrupted one at system/fonts.
If you're rooted you can copy the NotoColorEmoji.ttf file pretty easily and give me a copy. If you could upload it here/reply to my post that'd be awesome.
Pretty please and thank you!
