[Q] Need help for Wifi - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys
I've searched a lot without having responses, to get Wifi to work
When I use WinMob, GB or Froyo Builds, everything works fine.
With every ICS, JB or CM ( GB too ) Build which I tested, Wifi won´t start.
In every Build when I activate Wifi, it's stuck on "Wi-Fi Scanning" and no networks on the list.
After this the Button for Wifi is grey.
I tested a lot of NativeSD haret and SD Builds and cannot find the problem.
This problem appears with or without SIM Card and Wifix Manager didn´t worked.
My Router has no MAC Filter and switching the Channels from AUTO to any Number didn´t solved the problem.
Please help!

[Q] wifi on froyo anroid

hi.
mi phone hd2 anroid have problem with connecting to my home wifi.

i used many anroid roms like evo 4g 1.6 froyostone 3.3 /3.1.changed rom on wm.
my wm can connect to wifi without problem but when i boot to anroid it cant connect.
Did you pushed the modules to /system/lib/modules? Do it with root explorer.
The WiFi module is named bcm4329. You should get it with every single kernel you download.
If yes, try to update the firmware of your WiFi module.

Hey, im using the same MDJ build, ive also tried radio 2.14 but get better battery life/ slower drain from 2.15, tho as you prob know radio performance depends on many factors, location being a big 1, wifi worked fine with both.
2 suggestions, update kernel to MDJ s7.1 or go back to radio 2.15
Thanks alot for fast and swift reply ..
I have downloaded s7.1 mdj kernel , but in instructions he says that i should put zimage and root folder into android folder, but nothing changes... Kernel stil stays 6.1... how to change kernel ffs ?
No probs,
with s7# kernels you need to copy zimage to your android folder but the modules have to be placed directly in the system/lib folder (using es or root explorer), not the same folder as the zimage.
not near my laptop right now so can't give you the exact path,
its all in MDJ's kernel thread tho just look 2 or 3 pages back from the last page ul see the instructions
p.s,
make sure you do a full reboot when done.
Before you go changing your kernel, try booting into Android with wifi on in Windows, then in Android turn wifi on, if it says error, just try to turn it on again.
If that doesn't work, try booting into Android with wifi in Windows turned off, then if it says error, try turning wifi on again.
The reason I say this, is because with one of the builds on my card, if I boot Android with wifi off in Windows, wifi will not work at all in Android, but if I boot Android with wifi on, it works but sometimes says error the first time, but if I simply turn wifi on again, then it turns right on and connects.
And I have read other people's comments that wifi would'nt work for them unless it was turned off in Windows.
So I say try it both ways, and give it 2 chances at turning wifi on each time.
If it works, good. If not, you can still change your kernel or try another build.
Hope this helps, and saves you some time and effort

[Q] WiFi connection issues on AmeriCanAndroid

I have been using AmeriCanAndroid for a few days now and have found that I have some serious WiFi connection issues. I connect to my home network with excellent signal, but after approximately a minute, it disconnects, then after another 30 seconds or so, reconnects to the same network with the same signal strength.
I have tried connecting to the same network on windows and it is perfectly fine. Also, the same issue occurs with other networks elsewhere when booted into AmeriCanAndroid. Other Android builds I have tried have not had this issue, so it must logically be something to do with the one I am currently using.
I have tried rebooting multiple times, as well as Re-installing (I only deleted SD Card files and re-copied the previously downloaded Android folder), but the issue persists. Could anyone please suggest a possible solution, as I have gathered throughout the forums that AmeriCanAndroid is easily the fastest, smoothest and most battery efficient build released.
the rom is italian
is italian the rom?
Sorry, but I don't quite understand what you mean? I downloaded the build from the thread in the forums and everything seems to be English.
Edit: saw that there's an update available to download. Downloaded it and found that it WORKS!

CM7 Kang Wifi Problems

Thread to discuss how to solve wifi problems on cm7 kangs with the new kernel & wifi driver, like my kang here: http://kan.gd/1h7f
updated: wifi problem fixed, fix here: http://kan.gd/1h8g flash with clockworkmod.
problem with phone not waking up after long calls still exists, that will be fixed tomorrow.
Wbaw, I installed your latest KANG (cm-7.2.0-blade-KANG-wbaw-120225), and also have the same wifi problem, like here. (Can not post there, because I haven't got the 10 posts)
Wiped and format everything before install. It says "scanning...connecting...disconnected". I've tried everything from changing the encryption, to changing the SSID, nothing helped. I have a Linksys WAG54GS router, "G" network, channel 10 - 2.457GHZ, encryption is WPA2-PSK. Attached a logcat log from boot, if it helps recognizing what's the problem.
With other KANG and with older kernel & wifi driver, my phone connects to my home wireless network.
Thank you for your help!

I'll probably have to make a couple of test kernels for you, it looks like the new wifi driver is failing. It's either the new driver & kernel source or wifi undervolting, but I don't think it's due to undervolting.
You can also try this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22887053&postcount=92 it's the same except I removed some useless looking files from the wifi driver for the kang, they're in that package.
I'll make a couple of packages tomorrow for testing.
If you have any problems with my kernel, please use the issue tracker, open an issue there & I can respond: https://github.com/John-Kenney/zte-turies-35/issues
I will open an issue in the issue tracker tomorrow.
Right now i have to get data back from my SD card, because i accidentally formatted it...
You probably know that by now, that the new wifi driver works only with 802.11b network, so if your router was set to "G-only", the phone could not connect. Of course mine was set to that. I set to "mixed", and it connects without problem.
Can't wait to test your kernel for the GPU overclock Thanks!
Seems strange, it seems to connect at 'g' speeds for me, but my router is set to 11b/g/n auto.
It looks like the new wifi driver causing the problem rather than the kernel, unfortunately I think it's the only wifi driver that works with the new kernel source.

Evervolv-Perdo-2.1.0p12-passion wifi issue

I noticed some people had issues with wifi with this update in the Evervolv's Aosp TexasIce Cream Sandwich thread below (unfortunately I cannot post there until I get to 10 posts):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366897
I had the same issue initially, then choose the Forget network option, did a reboot, and then added the network manually (I had to anyway with my hidden network).
Then the network did its thing. Hope this helps

I will copy your message and bring it to the other thread on your behalf
Thanks!
I cant find the wifi forget option though.
In my case it won even turn on the wifi and therefore it cant find any.
Was searching for the wifi forget option in the wifi settings -> advanced, but could not find it.
Really curious of what to do exactly to make it work again.
Thanks in advance.

In my case it started to work after I installed tiamat kernel back after p12 installation wthout wipe. But since rotation and ksm in tiamat do not work yet, I decided to make wiping. So after fastboot -w, and clean install of p12 it works again.

Did a clean install and reflashed tiamats kernel and nothing worked.
Some people say that comming from p11 and straight away to p12 works just fine.
Thanks though.
---
This worked:
1. Wipe everything 3 times - reformat sd card
2. Install p11 - start it up
3. Install p12 right over it, dont wipe anything.
4. Enjoy the wifi
Thanks for the forward taodan. Hopefully won't be long until I can post there.
KJS021: When you're in the WiFi settings, press & hold on a connected network & then you get the option to either 'Forget network', or 'Modify network'.
Other info:
I started fresh with p11 (ran it for a couple of weeks), then updated to p12 without wiping anything.
I had wifi enabled with the icon appearing, but my network couldn't connect.
Google stuff played up, so next reboot was with gapps reinstalled.
Then I tried the network again & with wifi enabled I couldn't even get the icon appearing. I tried to re-add the network but still no luck. That's when I chose to 'Forget network' & give it a reboot. Then I added the network manually & mysteriously the network connected and the rest is history..
Other weird things that have happened in p12:
Google Maps crashed. A pop-up every few seconds kept informing me of this. I uninstalled Maps (which gave me factory Maps, before the update that is), then I cleared data just because.. Reinstalled from the market & all was good again.
Gallery wouldn't launch from my shortcut. Thought there was an issue, but found the gallery working through another app. Removed the Gallery shortcut, re-added it & that did the trick.
1 random reboot early in the piece, as well as 1 screen lockage I couldn't break out of. It's been good all day today though.
Misc Rants:
Also running A2SD (really needed with this rom) with 1GB ext4. One of the biggest issues I've had to deal with. Formatted my damn card various ways and just wouldn't seem to mount. Still not sure how I exactly got it working, but it wasn't long after I upgraded to the CWM recovery in texasice's downloads (CWM 5.0.2.7), even though I formatted the card elsewhere.
Other Specs: Radio: 5.12.00.08, everything else was done as in the OP of the proper thread.
Loving the rom so far, most things have been running fairly slick for me.
Waiting on the camera/video stuff to be fixed, and also pinch zoom to be smoothed out.
