Lately, I've been using titanium, and it will go to install an app like normal, but in the middle of it, it will open up the install prompt and either say "are you sure you want to install this app?" or "this app already exists, do you want to overwrite it?" "verify apps" in settings is unchecked, so I don't understand. never had this problem before. any help? debugging is also on btw, in dev settings.
Thanks for any help.

Was working and after flashing the new image for Sprint from Flipz it stopped working..
what do i have to do to fix it? can someone guide me please
What is it doing / not doing? It works fine. What steps did you take when you flashed it? What rom did you come from?
Make sure USB Debugging is checked in Settings>Applications >Development
Hey flipz....
I'm on your latest ROM Fresh 2.0d and flashed the new image over it..
Superuser doesn't pop up the allow/deny option whenever i try to run an app that uses it..
PROBLEM SOLVED!
MOD's delete this thread please ..thanks!
Just flashed from the first RegawMOD to Fresh 2.0d on my wife's and had to check it i didn't have to on mine but I've flashed so many times I can't even remember what it was before flashing Fresh. Always wiping before flashing as well.
I was having problems with all my apps that require SU permissions since I installed Fresh 2.0d. I realized that usb debugging was not enabled, but after enabling i was still having problems when the SU window would pop up totally black and just hang there.
What worked for me was enabling usb debugging then going into settings>applications>manage applications, then selecting the Superuser app and clearing the data. Now the Superuser allow/deny window pops up like normal when opening those apps which require permissions.
I have a question that some of you might be able to answer. It got buried in the dc2.05 thread. It's regarding the Superuser Permissions app/utility.
I get allow/deny prompts for various tasks, so the actual function works fine. I'm wondering about the management when I open the Superuser Permissions app. It looks like I can clear a set permission by tapping on the rule. However, it always looks like I only have one rule, which is listed at the top. If I tap on it to clear it, another rule will be displayed. It's as if all my rules are overlapping on the top row.
If I want to clear a single rule, there's a chance I need to clear multiple rules to get to it. Is that how things are supposed to work? I'm guessing all the rules should be displayed in a list; but being new to all this, I could be wrong. Are fresh users seeing this behavior?

Same function for me, just shows one rule at the top. Its been like this on fresh 1.0 and 2.0. Looks like you can only clear one at a time, or all at once in the "manage applications" setting as I described above.
I understand how to 'stop' the applications via the settings menu, but I want to know how to disable it. How?
Something like msconfig under Windows. Is there an app that uncheck the start-up programs?
This app works without root , just click on the startup manager, you might need root if you don't see the app you want to stop, you might need "titanium backup"

Ok, I searched for this and I couldn't find anything like my questions.. perhaps because I am too much of a noob at this to even know that its a dumb question.(probably)
I installed ManualNooter using the guide here and I got through it with no issues, except for step 12. (Uncheck the top box, then recheck the box again) I got the box there and it shows a green checkmark in the box but I can't uncheck it. BUT thats not the problem (if it even is one) that I have a question about.
I am working on getting Titanium Backup working and am seeing an issue with not having "Unknown Sources" selected but I don't have CyanogenMod to get into that settings window to check it so I was thinking of installing it, will that effect my ManualNooter installation?

This is what step 12 is for, to allow “unknown source” installations. Once you get that done, you can then install from Amazon appstore, and TB. You might have to tap at the check box a couple of times to get it to uncheck/recheck. The NC has issues with touch around the outer perimeter.
Thanks I will give this a try.
I have the 32GB Galaxy S 4. I rooted my phone using the motochopper exploit after I received the OTA update to I337UCUAMDB and I also replaced SuperUser with SuperSU. Every time I restart my phone and enter the unlock pattern I am greeted with a prompt to Complete action using Easy Launcher or TouchWiz Home. I have selected both and tried choosing Always or Just once for each choice but after rebooting I am always presented with the prompt again.
Has anyone else seen this or does anyone have any ideas why this prompt is appearing?
Thanks in advance for your help.
If you're rooted, get Titanium Backup and freeze the launcher you don't want. If there's only 1 installed, you won't get the popup.
You can also go to settings/applications and do a "clear defaults" on both, then reboot. Maybe that'll help the choice stick.

I tried clearing defaults and also clearing the cache and data on both but I still got the prompt. I froze EasyLauncher with Titanium Backup and that worked. Thanks for your help!

Is there any other method of accomplishing removal of that that prompt? I do NOT wanna spend 6 bucks a ****ty backup app just to freeze one stupif thing because of a bug in the S4. I have app quarantine but it doesn't allow me to freeze easy launcher.
You can freeze it with the application manager. Just select the one you don't want and where Uninstall usually is you will find "Disable”
You can find this disabling option for system apps when you change to the "All" tab.

Some apps do not allow you to disable within settings. Just support the developers of Titanium Backup and purchase pro and freeze it.

root=free but would have paid for
app quarantine=free allowed me to freeze 25 apps. would have paid for
nottach xposed=free provided 70 extra options
titanium= $6 bucks and does all kids of things i don't care about. all i want is a bug gone that I shouldn't have to pay for
there must be some other way of freezing the app or fixing the bug

Wanting things you shouldn't have to pay for, sounds fair and logical.
Can't you just use ES File Explorer (Free) and delete Easy Launcher then?
Yeah, like the person above just stated...you can use es file explorer or some other root file manager, you don't even have to delete the app...you can freeze it by renaming it!!!
Install es file explorer (free)
Enable root explorer
Mount /system
Navigate to /system/app
Rename the app by placing .bak at the end
Now its no longer recognized as an app due to the .bak at the end instead of .apk, if you want to unfreeze it then delete the .bak part and make sure it ends with .apk
-if your sure uninstalling it won't cause any issues than you can just delete it if you want

I installed ES File manager. Went to Root explorer. Uninstalled Easy Launcher. It said the uninstall failed, however it was removed from the list. I rebooted and no more easy launcher prompt!! THANKS :good:
I started having this same problem yesterday. When I reboot the phone I get prompted to "complete action" either use "touchwiz home" or easy launcher. If I select touchwiz home and set as the default action and reboot I get the same screen again. I'm just wondering what caused this and how I it can be fixed rather then disabling easy launcher.
just forcly close both of them
After rooting my device I was planning on installing AdFree, but for some reason it does not work. The phone is acting as if its validating the apps source - and since AdFree wants to be installed from an "unknown source" it refuses to install.
And yes, I have unchecked the verification, but the phone is acting as if the option is checked anyways.
Halp pl0x?

verification should be checked
you should post this in Q&A
I think from the title of your post that you've gotten it backwards. You have to put a check in "allow installation of apps from unknown sources" in order for you to be able to install apk's from elsewhere than play store.
Oh, d'oh.
I'm sorry for being silly, both for posting in the wrong forum section and missing the obvious here.
