1 disable 2 step verification on google account.
2. run google authenticator, tap and hold displayed code, select remove.
Next enable 2 step verification on google account and set google authenticator

Go to the 2-step-verification home page.
Under "How to receive codes" you have your current phone listed under Mobile Application.
Click Edit.
Rather than picking Phone Model and moving on, instead select "Set up a different phone" and follow the instructions.
It generates a new secret, which you'll need to enter into all devices you want to use Google Authenticator on.
The old secret is invalidated, so you need to remove the old secret from your original device.
You do this in the Google Authenticator application by long-tapping (Android) on your account and the 6-digit PIN, this gives you the option to "delete" the key.

Google Voice on my Evo -- did I screw up?

So, I love google voice.
<Back story> I have three Gmail accounts: business, personal, and a junk account. I didn't know there was a limit of it seems two or three times you can tie your phone to a google number. On top of that, my original EVO had to be returned to the store for a defect (i got a new one about 2 months ago)
So I'd love to use google voice again with the account I've already setup (one of my gmails) Problem is when i get to the part of verifying the phone by sending a text message I get "a problem has occured" message from the google voice app.
Some digging on google tells me that my phone number has already been tied to the maximum number of google voice accounts.
Further complicating things (and this one is my own fault) the ONE google voice accoun that I had working on my last phone (a 4th gmail account) I can't remember the password to. This seems to be the account that has the "active" status and would work on my phone if I could just remember the password. It's my junk gmail account, and even password recovery doesnt work.
Anyone got a friendly tip how I can go about getting my original Google voice account setup back on my phone? Is there a particular page on google I can request to have everything wiped out related to my phone and start fresh?
Thanks!
Jeff
Have you tried setting it up on the computer?
yes - anytime I try to setup on a computer it gives me the message "unable to verify number, the phone number you entered is already paired to two google voice accounts"
i guess their limit is two.
The weird thing is while the original phone was physically a different evo, I still have the same cell phone number (using it daily) that I used when I setup my first few google voice accounts.
Its like they just completely forgot to have a "reclaim" feature in their system such that someone can re-pair a phone with their google voice account as long as you verifty ownership of the number, which i totally can.
Go into one of your other numbers and change the main number to a different number. Like home or a friends cell for the time being. Then set up your main on your evo. If you really need 3 GV accounts, you can always get a virtual number for a minimal price. I use 3jam.com.

No two-Step-Authorization on Google?

Hi,
got my Z1 today, and I wanted to login in my google account. I use Two-Step-Authorization, but the device dont accept my app specific password. Is it impossible to use Two-Step-Authorization on CyanogenOS? What do I wrong? Thx for your help ...
Dave
of course not (can't use 2-step verification on Cyanogen OS)!
i have used it on the 1+1 and now the Z1
perhaps your verification code has expired?

sorry, I didnt understand exactly, is it possible or not to use an app specific password (two-step-verification) on cynogenOS? I tried it multiple times, the app specific passwords I tried can't be expired, i created it yet before. And what verification code do you mean?
I have some Nexus devices, and all of them I use with a app specific password for the main google account. But the Z1 didnt accept one. I did it by these steps:
- You generate it on the App passwords page (Sixteen letters (Example: ohgh uylv xkwd zgbz))
- You don’t have to remember it, because you can generate a new one anytime
- You’ll need it when you want to authorize a device, a mobile app (such as a Gmail app on your iPhone), or a desktop app (such as AdWords Editor) to connect to your Google Account
(support.google.com/accounts/answer/1070457?hl=en&ref_topic=1099588)
What do I wrong?
just download Google Authenticator from play store.

i used the app Share Where Pro to test for you just now.
(1) Installed Share Where Pro on my Z1
(2) on my Google security page https://security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords i clicked on Select App, selected Other, entered 'Share Where', and hit Generate.
(3) then on my phone, i went into Share Where's settings where it required my Email address & Email password, and typed in my email AND the 16 character code Google gave me in step 2 above.
(4) i received an email from Google stating that app password created for 'Share Where', and on the same page in step 2 an additional entry for 'Share Where' can now be seen (with a Revoke button next to it)
so, like i said, no problem using 2-step verification on Z1.
sorry i don't know where you went wrong, perhaps someone could help you. cheers!
Hi xdakewie,
thank you for your efforts ... now I know, what you mean. Yes, I also think, that's working. But I want to authenticate the device, not an single app, with an app-specific password. During the first installation of the device or after an wipe you have to sign in in your google account, and there I want to use an app specific password. Without this sign in you can't do so much with the device, also you can't download any apps from play store. I use my Google Account on some other devices, but on all of them with another app-specific password, not with the main password of my google account. The "app specific password" should called as "app-or-device-specific-password". I hope, now I had better explain what I mean. And sorry for my bad english ...

with the login to your main google account on the device by an app-specific-password, not the main password? I don't speak about the verification keys from Google Authenticator or the login for single apps, but the login in your google account on first configuration of a device. This is working on your Z1 with an app-specific-password? Sure?

Samsung Account Processing failed

Hello I've had my s5 for about 8 months I just recently did a hard reset so like any other new cell it asks for a Google account and a Samsung account if you have one...
Well I put Google account and everything is OK.. By the time I punch in my details for the Samsung account it says processing failed. I know it's not my details because I have 1 other Samsung s5mini and has the same I'd and password.
It's basically a paperweight right now it won't let me get passes the 3rd screen (Samsung account loggin)
Please help
I am having the same problem as well. I bought my phone from someone else over a year ago so I am not sure if it wants their account or what. The crazy thing is that if I use an incorrect password it says invalid password, but when I enter the right one I get processing failed. Not sure what to do, can't Odin older firmware
Check youtube for "Bypass Galaxy S5 reactivation lock"
same thing here. when i use the right password says, processing failed. when i use wrong one, it says, wrong password
pain in the butt this thing.
Samsung account username/password (test - validation) this is easy to be performed by a computer logging at Samsung website.
Customer support of Samsung this is amazing, if you contact them.
In case that you do log-in normally in your Samsung account over the web, and when you do that from your phone this Fail, then something is heavily wrong, and also Samsung customer support them will hold the answers about that too.
Check Samsung Account app permission ... grant everything and try again
I spent the last 6 hours on this, but I'm finally up and running. Forgot that reset your pw and wait 24 hours BS. The problem is the older devices don't recognize the 2-factor authentication, which means you have to sneak in the backdoor and turn it on. No need to call 911 either - leave those lines open for real emergencies! Here's the step by step, (assuming I haven't forgotten anything).
1. On login page, select the microphone button. This will take you to keyboard options. Select "set hot keys" and type any text in the field.
2. Highlight the text and tap to select Google Assist. On the menu that pops up, hit the share icon and then Google Drive.
3. Okay, this is the part I'm blanking on, so good luck! Somehow from here, I was able to access an address bar. I suggest clicking around until something pops up.
4. Once you get to an address bar, type in "Quick Shortcut Maker" and install and open the app. This app creates shortcuts to various applications on your device.
5. In the app, select Applications and scroll to "Settings." Voila! You just snuck in the back door. Interestingly, I was able to access all kinds of applications this way - NOT VERY SECURE SAMSUNG!!
6. The irony of this next step will blow your mind. Head over to the "backup and reset" menu and select factory reset. I know, you're probably thinking, "this is how I got here in the first place." That's what makes this SO funny.
7. Before you can perform a factory reset, Samsung asks you to verify your pw. Go ahead and enter it again. You will magically end up behind the curtain where you are prompted to enable 2-FA on your phone. Yay! And now you are logged in.
8. Before restarting go to the "accounts" menu in settings and view and verify your profile info associated with the Samsung account. I went ahead and entered my phone number here just in case that mattered.
9. I did all of the steps above with the sim card out. It still didn't work at this point, but after reloading the sim card, I am back in business!!

What happened to "Got another device?" "Tap & Go" feature?

Hi,
With my last device I always used the "Got another device?" option during initial setup to copy all my Google accounts to the new device. Unfortunately this seems to not be available on the S8+. Only the smart switch option is available which I don't need because it won't transfer accounts but just media.
It is important to transfer the Google accounts to the S8. No, I cannot enter the accounts manually because I don't have the password for most of the accounts. And No, i cannot recover or reset passwords. All the years it was a comfortable way to transfer the accounts to the new device but the S8 is different.
Please let me know if there is any way to transfer the Google accounts.
Thank you
Why can't you recover the passwords? Doesn't google send you a text to your number?
No, I specifically mentioned that I can't recover passwords.
I also want to add that the feature is called "Tap & Go" on some devices but it never shows up on the S8.

Try using smart switch on a pc? and above was asking why can't you recover passwords have you tried changing password while in account on old device and hit forgot password it sometimes will let you recover or change password via text or email verification I recently went thru on my gmail account which I no longer had my original phone number or access to backup email account and I've gotten it reset and countless customers phones, unless you use bogus info and don't remember such as name, bday yada yada yada. Also been there before numerous times
