get into recovery and try a cache wipe to start. if that doesn't work, do a factory reset. have you backed up your apps or anything? doing a factory reset will wipe your data and you'll lose all apps, settings, everything, but it will take the tab back to "out-of-the-box" setup.

What happened to cause this? Did you let it drain down to zero? Did it go from 50% to 0% at once?
More details please on what led you to this point.

Plug into wall charger, turn tablet off, let it charge for an hour and see if it boots back up.
Not USB, to weak.
And......you really should know better then to root and do intensive tasks with 13% battery. Just saying.

warrant replacement. call where you got it(google play, asus, other) and get a replacement. its a known issue. i had my replaced last month(google play store) because it stopped charging. they didnt give me a hastle, and sent a replacement out fast.

Have the same problem, battery is working good but looks likes battery sensor malfunction, so system doesn't know battery status!.
Don't know what is the effect of that for the battery life!.
Tried every thing to fix that.
Any way, the only solution is RMA, already called Google, and they agreed for a replacement.
So, don't wait, you got 15 days since you got it for a replacement.

I had this problem when I had the latest bootloader installed on my device, everytime I tried to charge it from (what it thought was) 0% the tablet would turn on and instantly turn off again because it had 0%.
I somehow managed to get it into fastboot and loaded the older bootloader (the one which won't let you into recovery without being connected to USB) and the tablet began to charge without turning itself on!
I left it to charge for about 2 hours, turned it on and it had enough juice in it to stay turned on and charge the rest of the way to 100%.
Not sure what the reason / cause of this was, my battery was at about 10% before it happened and it suddenly depleted to 0%!
Hope this helps!

my situation is different here, like this, I got my shipment at work, open the box, turned on the device, it's like 40%.
test it then put on the table for charge, take a look was in 98%..... after half hour it's 0% with on red battery icon.
Now sometimes battery work and I can see the "xx%", sometimes it stayed at 61% for 1 hour of use then jump to 42%!!
Sure something wrong with the battery sensor!.

This is a classic example what happens when people don't take the time to educate themselves on rooting their device. Anyone who owns a nexus device should know where to find factory images for both old and new firmware. And I always charge via USB and not AC. AC overheats my battery way too much. It can cause serious damage to your device.
Just saying

[Q] Device not turning on

Please help, when i was flashing awesome beats, at the end of flashing my device's temperature is very high and then it turned off by itself. After that, my device wont turn on when i pressed the power button although my battery shows 50%+ before flashing.
I tried to plug the charge and the white battery charging indicators appeared but then the device went off again after a while. It happens repetitively, white battery charging shows up, and then turned off. When i tried to turn on the device while plugged into charger, a google logo appeared and then turned off. I can access the bootloader when pressing the vol down button while it's charging. Please help me, what's happening with my device? is it because the battery is fully depleted or maybe another issue? Thank you
Sorry for my bad language.

i've tried to flash the factory image but the problem still there. it wont turn on with charger unplugged, when it plugged, white battery charging indicator shows up, and then turned off with red led blink, after a while it turned on again with white battery charging indicator and again it turned off with red led blink, this happened repetitively. If i put my device in charge for a while, the red led wont blink again when it turned off after the white battery charging indicator, but it still wont boot..

Let it charge for couple hours before doing anything to it. How are you flashing the factory image? I recommend using one of the toolkit to guide you through.

hmm that is weird. Did you try wiping battery stats? If not, give it a try.

Stuck a 0% Battery / Doesn't charge

I was running CleanROM (doubt it has anything to do with it). Woke up this morning, phone was working fine. During my first break at work, it was off. Tried turning it on but it goes through the LG splashcreen, then the blue loading circle. Came back home and it doesn't charge. Stuck at 0%.
Made a nandroid backup earlier so I factory reset it. I am able to turn it on once in a while and checked the battery settings, it says needs more time to collect battery usage. Still the phone is stuck at 0%.
Hoping anyone has a fix/answer. TIA
Plug it into a wall outlet. Leave it alone for an hour or so . Give it time to charge up

I left it there for 2 hours, still 0. When I use the phone (While plugged in) it works fine. Unplug it, turns off immediately. It doesn't do that when I'm in recovery.
I formatted data in recovery, still getting the same results. I'm trying to unroot and bring it back to stock but I'm having problems with my PC atm.

I remember that on CWM, but I'm on TWRP. I don't think I've seen that option.
Deleted battery stats, still stuck on 0%. I even switched ROMs from nanadroid to see, no changes.
Phone turned on this morning. Risked taking it out with me for work. The problem now is that the battery was stuck at 100%. After 10 hours of usage and wake an hour on screen time. That's not normal.

how did you get to 100%

[Q] Nexus 7 (2012) battery issue

Hi, I bought N7 (2012) 16 GB in December 2013 and suddenly it's charging went slow. At times, it just charges 5% after plugging in for 5-6 hours. I've no idea what's happening with it. Any clue?
Same here.
E.g. last night I turned it off at appr. 30%, plugged in the charger and in den morning it was at about 50%.
I am on PACman Rom 22.1.0
there has many issues about fast battery drain after kitkat especially about N7. There is no definite fix for this but you can try not to let it decharge under %30-35 because the lower battery is the longer it charges.. good luck with pluging and unpluging the charger a few times in out in out , it helps they said.

No, my case is something else. Everything was working fine and this problem happened suddenly one day. At times, while charger is plugged in, if I play game, battery starts to drain even when it's charging. There has to be some problem with the battery but I ask why did this happen and that too suddenly.
Get gsam from play store and see what's eating your battery. Or post screens here.
If you're rooted, you need gsam root companion as well. Shows more details then.
Otherwise we're all just guessing.
Mine started doing that just yesterday. I updated twrp today and did a wipe of everything, went to reboot, now it will not turn on at all. Won't even charge. I got it to turn on finally but it won't go back into recovery. Just gets stuck on the part when you first turn it on.

Here's something crazy! I unplugged the battery for a few hours, plugged in the power cable, tried turning it on (didn't work for obvious reasons lol), then plugged the battery pack in. Now it's charging fine and was able to boot into recovery.

Note 4 annoying battery issues!

I ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910T) last week on Ebay. It is a refurbished one sold by a seller named Cellfeee. On the first day it came with 0 percent. So I charged it with the generic non-fast charging charger it came with and it worked good until it suddenly turned off on 5 percent and I couldn't turn it on until I put the charger on. The next day I used another charger with a fast charger (not sure if the charger was broken) and it took 7 hours all night to charge but it strangely last for 10 hours and shut off at 20 percent. Is this a common issue? Should I send it back or order a replacement battery?

I have the same issue my phone n910t shutdowns at 20% and sometimes at 15% and phone won't turn on.but i can enter download mode and it remains on for hours
but when i plug in fast charger back it shows same 15% then why the hell it won't turn on ?
I think its nothing wrong with my phone not refurbished never rooted it definitely could be bad battery..
I have the same problem with my 2 year old Note 4 - bought a new battery but that didn't fix it. Phone usually shuts off at around 15-20% battery. However, when I connect the charger it shows 0%.
So, either there's another hardware fault which is misreading the battery level, or there's a problem with latest Android or Samsung app which is causing it.

Try this
Dial*#0228# and press quick start at bottom of the screen and hit yes.
This will clear old battery calibration status.
Then turn off the phone and charge to 100% and reboot
And your new calibration status will create automatically.
I did this and now my phone is not shutting down at 15 or 20%.

Hey trex.. i have the same problem phone shuts down at 15 to 10% but when it shuts down it goes to bootloop whenever you power on the phone it goes again to bootloop but once you connect the phone to the charger it boots just fine! I tried that with 2 batteries. I have bought a now oem one and it's worse than the 2 years old one.
I have exactly the same problem as everyone else, the phone shuts down at 20-30-40% and sometimes even at 50%.
Edit: I was talking about the *#0228# method.

I never face any bootloop issue. after i recalibrate bettery status its perfectly fine.but still sometimes when phone heats up a lot while gaming and it shutdown at 5 or 8%.
Maybe you flash a clean stock firmware and make factory reset after flash should fix this bootloop issue.

Thanks for your reply, it isn't bootloop as i described but it fails to boot if the phone is not charged enough( it should be over 5 percent) it will go to Samsung logo the restarts again unless i connect the phone to the charger.. very strange behavior! This started to happen after November security update.. i was thinking to factory reset but i have too many apps and without TB i will suffer backing up all these data 😣.. if factory reset did not help i will send it back to Samsung service center and let them suffer 😈.. thanks for your help trex really appreciated.. cheers

It might be a software issue. The battery still lasts pretty long even though 20% is like 0%. So buying a new battery didn't help. Did you try a non-oem battery? if so, did it do the same?

It might be because your battery can't supply enough power. I had the same problem and brought it to Samsung, they said I only need to change the battery. And since I had another backup one, it was fine and decided to buy 2 more batteries just in case. No more problem so far.

Battery issues

My phone's battery level is stuck at 35% and doesn't change on charging it over and over again. Left the phone charging last night and it was still charging at 35% in the morning. However if there's a drop below 35% level it shows on the screen but again charging the phone drains complete battery within a minute or two. The phone gets switched off and starts charging from 0. On switching it on sometimes it again starts draining the battery fast or stuck at some another battery level. Please help what should i do.
I tried reflashing rr rom freshly but it didn't solve the issue. Twrp recovery shows the same battery %.
Screen recorded as below.

Charger or phone faulty, either requires exchange under warranty, take it you are using cable and charger supplied with phone.
Do a factory reset just in case something has screwed up the OS, trying to charge with the phone switched off usually will confirm whether hardware or software problem, ie will not charge when off says its hardware.

I left the phone on charge last night in switch off mode but the battery level shows only 10% in the morning. Internally however it's charged 100% but the level is not showing correctly. Also since I've unlocked the bootloader, the device isn't under warranty.
what a weird battery behaviour!!
Whenever I start charging my phone using stock charger, it drains the battery within minutes instead of charging. Once the battery is completely drained out the battery starts charging from 0% and after a full night of being plugged into the charger it shows partially charged at different level when it's switched on even though it's full.
Is there no way to troubleshoot this or the right way to calibrate the battery?

Although I think it's a coin toss if it will help, try another charger and a factory reset... Moto service will want you to do a factory reset before sending it in anyway.

Not yet, only solution is getting the battery replaced. Now I've learnt to live with it, since the mobile needs to be restarted after every charge and the % gets stuck at some random value despite being fully charged.

I'll ask for replacement after Christmas holidays. Thank you very much.
I do also have the same problem. It just started a few days ago and sometimes I'd restart the phone and it will fix it and show the actual percentage been charged. But now that isn't fixing it anymore. However, as mentioned before the battery is actually being charged. So let's say it's stuck in 11% and I charge it for a few hours. Then I can use the phone for hours without going below 11%.. but how annoying when it gets there and all of a sudden you are running out of battery ?
Charging with original charger/cable. Do you guys think it might have to do with the turbopower feature?
Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm still under warranty for two more months. But it's always a pain to deal with warranty, you know no phone for a week or more... It would be nice if it can be fixed without going through warranty.
