I just got nexus 4 and it has problem connecting to bluetooth speaker. The first time connecting to the speaker, it's flawless. However, the next time that I connect to the speaker, it would play music for 3-4 seconds before muting. Nothing that I do would fix the problem. I would have to reboot the nexus, then the cycle repeats itself.
I'm using stock nexus, rooted and running Franco kernel r15. I've read around that Android 4.2 has been having problem with bluetooth connectivity (especially in Nexus 7). Is this a known problem for nexus 4? If it is, I hope Google will fix it soon. Does anyone experiencing the same problem?
I have no issues with N7 on bluetooth audio in my truck (a2dp) and N4 with both A2DP and hf simultaneously. But I haven't modded it.

Since the Nexus 7 was updated to Android 4.2x it's suffered a Bluetooth audio cutout problem when streaming music via wifi or 3g.
I have just ordered a Nexus 4, and hope it does suffer this problem, and it's related to the Bluetooth hardware in the Nexus7, rather than the common Android 4.2 code.
Anyone know for sure?

I haven't thoroughly tested it but i streamed music from my google music over wifi and to a creative bluetooth speaker, i played for over 3 hours last night and didn't cutout at all.
I stream spotify via mobile data to my Bluetooth factory head unit in my 2010 Mazda 3 Sport Hatchback and I get no skipping. Only the normal 2 second delay and rare audio pops during deep bass that I've been used to since using my iPhone 4s in the car.
I've been using the phone since the Friday of the week initial orders went in.
Sounds like it is a nexus 7 specific problem then.
Thanks.
Happens a few times during my morning commute. I'll be listening to a podcast and using Waze, and the audio from both drops.
Bluetooth is still connected. At this point I can wait it out (usually a minute or two) ... or turn BT off/on again ... both usually resolve the issue.
It's happened since day one - and my previous phone (HTC Inspire 4G, running stock and CM7) never had this problem with my radio.
Anybody else having this problem? Any suggestions on a fix? I know Goog changed the BT stack in 4.2 to improve "reliability" ... but this is driving me crazy.
I've been using my bluetooth regularly in my car (09 TSX) and not once has it dropped/stopped playing music. Whether I'm streaming from Tune-In or just from the Play Music app it always works. In fact it worked for my 3 hours road trip this past weekend without a single issue!
No issues with phone calls either.

I just set up bluetooth in my car yesterday. The audio and call quality is great, but I did have it drop out once. When it dropped out the phone locked up and I had to reboot in recovery. I'm running completely stock and have not rooted.
Try turning off WiFi , mine was cutting out whenever a wireless network became available. I turn off WiFi when I get in my car and have had no issues since

First a big thank you to dev(s) for their awesome work.
Been using CM10 beta as daily driver on an unlocked aussie RAZR m however there is another possible small bug: when you have a Bluetooth headset connected, phone audio goes to handset but media audio goes to the external speaker no matter what you do.
Anyone else have this?
Sorry couldn't post this in the cm10 thread .
Sometimes this happens to me, even before I rooted, even on my droid 2 global, sometimes a reboot of the phone does it for me or removing the bluetooth profile from the phone then connect it back up does the trick. I have a Insignia NS-BTHDP bluetooth headphones.
I tried this morning to connect my motorcycle helmets BT. Same thing, paired right up, but audio only went out phones speaker
Has anybody experienced any kind of disconnections with Bluetooth headsets?
My MW600 headset, which was working perfectly until 4.4 update, keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from my N4 very frequently with no pattern and only during calls - it never disconnects when listening to music.
Any experience / advice?
Hmm have similar problems with 4.4.1 and same BT.
Are you on same version?

I've installed 10.3.1 and have a Samsung S3 Gear connected usually. I have trouble connecting to my car and keeping a stable connection. The connection drops out from the car. Is this a known or common issue with 10.3.1? I then tried to put the phone on speaker and then the phone keeps trying to send audio to a bluetooth device and won't just stay on speaker. anyone have similar issues? know any fixes?

No problems here, I use a Bluetooth FM device in my work van and it works fine.
I also have a Jabra 65t set that work great,
never had any problems through many updates both stable and beta.

I have Jabra 65t as well and they work great. It's the vehicle Bluetooth in the Nissan that has been really sketchy I guess. I'll look into that as needing to be addressed then.
The other odd part is that even after I hit speakerphone, the phone tries to revert to Bluetooth.

No issues for me. Phone stays connected to my Fitbit no issue, and streaming music in the car and over earbuds works great for me.
No problems also for me
I have no problem connecting, bluetooth works properly. But I think that the bluetooth is switching on late as if it was turning on faster before, I made a clean installation.
i had a clean install, i did clear cache for the bluetooth system app and decided to just move on and have since installed lineage. bluetooth works like a champ with lineage now.
