I have a similar kind of problem, My phone does get detected on windows 8, but the DWI Bootlader WP7 rom package doesn't run.
I think it's a Win 8 bug.
I solved the problem by installing Windows Mobile!
Thanks

Setting up the phone with Windows 8 works fine, for loading MAGLDR, cLK, Windows phone, android etc...
I've used it to do all of the above.

Android, but I think it's the same thing...at the end must only identify the device...

Hi,
Make sure you have the latest version of ActiveSync in XP or WMDC in Windows 7 installed.
Or in Vista/Windows 7 to right click and run as Administrator

Guys
this morning i wanted to try a new rom and did task 29 and reinstall the radio and magldr 1.13 , and when i conected the phone via flasher mode it dosnt connect with the computer the strange thing is it connect via mas storage, i can flash win mobile which i did so my cable works, but I cant flash any android or win phone 7 ,,,i recently formatted my Pc besides that i could do it without any issue earlier what could be the problem
Damn it i cant flash anything via MGLDR it doesn't get connected only WIN Mobile 6.5
Hi, I would think that the problem is that you have formatted your pc, so you don't have ADB installed. Install Android SDK and you will get ADB support.
Thanx , i will try thanx a lot
I didn't managed to get it done i installed the SDK but no luck can some one pls help me to get my phone connected vis usb to MGLDR

Hi,
You are missing the drivers that come from ActiveSync in XP or WMDC in Windows 7.
Install whichever is appropriate for you and see if that works.

Yes and no, frankly, thanks to schlund there are two versions! I recommend you to try nand, there is also instructions on how to return back to wm
I am not sure if this nand version is really stable enough for daily use as a work phone. Schlund is fixing many bugs, and android version is improving greatly. I am waiting for an update which really solves battery lifetime/stability. Until then I stay with the old but proven Windows mobile .
hey, since you know how to return back to wm, can you pls tell me how to reflash wm? because when im in the 3 colored screen (vol- and power) what shall i do?my comp doesnt recognize the usb and it says something like "qualcomm cdma technologies msm" in the device manager...

Hey guys,
I wanted to play around a little bit with Windows Phone 7 on my HTC HD2 but again encountered a problem with it.
The micro-usb-port of the phone isn't working for a long time now, but i never was needed to fix it (even though i tried ).
At the moment i have an old Android ICS Beta-ROM running on my device and also CLK...and there's were the problem is.
I have no clue how I now could get Windows Phone installed on my device without MAGLDR or how I could install MGLDR without my USB-port :S
It's not very important to get it running, but i want to have tried everything before I give up
So if you have any idea please share it with me...thanks in advance

Thank you for the quick answer
I had the same problem (steadily disconnecting from my PC and saying "Unknown device")... And I was surprised to see that it only was the cable... try it with another cable before you send it in...
Hey I have MAGLDR already installed and I want to try Windows 7 but my usb port is broken...is it possible to go back to android afterwards?

Hey XDAers,
I'm trying to flash a new ROM to my OMNIA 7. I have followed the instructions and was successfully able to install MAGLDR on my Omnia7. But when I run the DFT DMLI tool to start loading the new ROM, I get the following error. (Please see attachment)
The status on my phone reads the following:
ATO MAGLDR 2.00
Build : Feb 6 2012 23:44:08
DFT, Cotulla 2012
----------------------------------------
CMD mode
Reset device to go back
Wait USB...USB !
CMD connected
I first tried this on my PC running on Windows 8 release preview and I had the same error. I tried using 5 different USB ports, restarted it a couple of times, reinstalled the sammy drivers. But I had the exact same problem.
So I switched to my laptop running on Windows Vista and did everything from scratch, but DFT DMLI tool can't seem to be connecting to phone, no matter what I have tried so far
I'm quite frustrated, as I have been spending hours and can't seem to figure out the issue. Any help to sort this out will be very much appreciated.... :good:
Ok...
It was rather stupid of me, but the ROM file needs to be in the same directory as the DFT DMLI tool... and Windows 7.8 on with Nokia Drive Rocks !!!
USBWorkDMLI_SAM.cpp (173)
