Defy mb525 restarting CM10 - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

defy is very resetting when you open 3 applications and more or less when you turn then resets again, anyone know what it is?
i use CM10 QUARX 05/12/12 clock 1 ghz 52vsel

Strange.. try doing a clean install again.. (wipe data+cache+dalvik) And I would also recommend using the blechd0se kernel . It's awesome. :good:
If possible, provide more details about your problem..
And please post this question in the CM10 problems reporting thread, more people will be able to help you there.

[Q] cm7.2 quarx rebbot after i quit asphalt 6

so there is my problem. when i quit asphalt 6 (while it runs no problem) my defy+ is rebooting.
im on quarx defy+ 120308 nightly
cpu settings:
300/20
600/33
800/42
1100/58
ondemand
any idea why is that problem?
strange thing, if nobody solved this bug you should try to wipe all and install CM once again. I have Cm7.2 and no problem with games - tried Asphalt - runs and quits like charm
after full wipe i flashed the 0316 quarx nigtly but the problem is still standing.. its sad coz this is a very nice and stable rom anyway, better then the 0127 eppsy
try increasing vsel4 a little bit, it might be too low ( i have 56/1000 )...
I've tried already. no change
Try the latest nightly. Have you tried running the app in your stock ROM? I don't know about the previous nightlies but it ran fine in the latest CM7 nightly for Defy+ in my case. I tested even in CM9 with success! However CM9 sometimes freezes and then you need to remove battery and wipe dalvik to start it!

Answer : How to custom Kernel ´Defy+ JB Quarx

Everything for testing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wrote this for maybe less confusion
Works with my Defy - red lense Bayer cam - on Defy+(gingerbread Kernel) Jelly Bean Quarx 24.8 Rom
I´ve
1. Flash test_2ndboot_6.10.zip from http://quarx2k.ru/ or my 2ndboot_06.10.zp from attached dropbox (search for 2ndInit recovery if you dont have and root your defy)
2. Boot into Recovery
3. Set 2ndboot as default
4. Go to tools/adb daemon and klick it and then reboot
If you want to go back to stock gb kernel flash stock kernel -like gb-234-451-134-signed.zip from dopbox i´ve attached
Remember everything is for Test the custom kernel
OT - Multiboot is ok with CM7 but akku is always 100%
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4fg71wuehyibzzx/oanepGgaRR
BIGNOTE: Green lens users who flashed redlens builds please dont try using flash, you will end up burning it like me and many others
Big thanks to our great DEV´s Quarx as porter :good: , Walter for fixing :good: and MS2 Dev czechop who made this possibile :good:
Great works men !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Defy red lens with defy + build gb kernel
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
I have done it in such manner
1. Prepared on SD card:
- CM10 ROM 24/09 for MB526,
- gapps for JB
- Qkernel 2ndboot_06.10.zip (with improved 2ndboot.ko)
2. Done factory reset and viped caches
3. Installed CM10 and gapps in normal manner
4. Flashed Qkernel
5. Went to bootmenu and choosed 2nd-boot (there was no chance to set it as default... i think, because phone immediately reboots)
And achieved "half success". All is working but with extremely lags... Was said so after first bootup system suppose to be laggy and needs to wait some time on sleep state with WiFi switched off. I was waiting whole night.
So now I want to know, if my procedure is right.
Nobody mentions gapps during instali of ROM - i suppose it's so trivial so nobody count it on...
Another problem - is there need of factory reset or cache wipe?
After installing Qkernel i went to boot menu to set 2nd-boot as default, but when i choose 2nd-boot phone reboots and I don't know what now with this setting up deafult 2nd-boot...
I am trying to fond any reason of system lagginess. Maybe something was done wrong. What's your opinion? To change ROM build? Or something else...

Of course I can try, but does it make any difference? Well, will see...
So I'm supposed to flash your kernel "as is" without much deliberation over existing installation?
If you are on boot loader ver 7 i cant say that it would work
Some peoples in this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32535395
Wrote about problems with custom kernel . Look around page 67 if your defy+ was stock bl7
I am using regular Defy with Bayer module and as first owner I am sure so there was not flashed any full sbf except once when I was forced to flash stock Froyo, so there is no case of BL7 I think...
So if I try can I flash this kernel over existing system or should I reflash ROM too?

Tried without success. Ill have to flash sbf rigth? Which do you recommend?
what are the advantages of using this kernel?
I don't know the advantage, for me it works as i do.
I started with stock cee European gingerbread which I've flashed after offical update comes out
New nightley from quarx cm10-2ndboot-nightly-defy(+)
Is out & works a bit faster

In General section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909242&page=84
they talk about BL5 and BL6 is supportet by quarx not BL4 and BL 7
Some say it works on BL7
But better read there for your self.......beforr you flash anything and think about warrity/garantie
For every booting i had to umount and mount again the battery.
And no Deep-Sleep in about 12 hours
Anyone else with this problems?
---------- Post added at 09:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:49 AM ----------
Now Deep-Sleep is ok. Dont know why .... But ... Quarx said in the xda-developer thread,
that with no usb-cable and with wifi disabled the defy should go 10-15 sec. in deep-sleep.
Before i have had usb-cable on or wifi enabled. Maybe that has been the reason.
After 3 hours 14 % battery drain ... not good ...
Quarx edited a new Rom today.
But after getting more and more slow reactions from the defy+ i flashed the 24.09 version.
All tips didn't really work in a good way.
And I need my defy+ functionabel this days.
But next time again ...
And today again a new kernel for update as *.zip ...
quarx2k.ru/cm10-2ndboot-nightly-defy(+)/update_for_11.10_v2.zip
13.10 Kernel update:fix wifi tether(reboot), reduce battery drain, compiled with linaro 4.5, fix charge only mode, cleanup unused drivers.

[Q] CM 10 on Defy+ to fix problems

Hi,
a friend of me has many problems with his defy+, like photos which disappear or reboots.
I suspect a buggy Android 2.3.6 (stock) on his defy is the reason for this, but of course, I can't know.
I think, if it's a hardware bug, the whole phone would not work (my understanding of hardware )
So I would like to know if somebody here had similar problems with his defy+ and installing cm 10 fixed that.
He doesn't like the idea of sending it back, so I would try CM10 first.
Thanks for answering,
Michael
Stock is peace of "censored"
Just flash CM10, and try it for yourself

Bro.. I had the same problem (Defy green lens)and was able to fix it with 2nd boot quarx rom and the camera got fixed. Thanks to Quarx and this community ! I had battery drain issues on official GB ROM and my battery would hardly last for 4-5 hrs even when not in use and would be dead in a couple of hours of internet usage over GPRS and would drain close to 50% even on stand by & screen turned off.
Did u experience same issues ? if so, has this been solved after installing this new ROM ?
Did u flash 2.2 (froyo) kernel while installing the new ROM ? coz I'm afraid to do so.. as it might burn my device..

not sure what you are aking but if you have bl7 on your green len dont flah any kernels except the one from quarx if you want the phone to enirely work
as for the drainage iue i ddint have before or after quarx cm10
i dont have my defy anymore
but with 1 hour of talking 2-3 of wifi and 1 of 3g it lasted 2 days
so maybe its just your battery
try to fully charge it
then go to cutom recovery -> advanced -> wipe battery stat
or fully charge it and use from playtore a battery calibration app

I mean, I have a Defy (Green lens) my phone was updated to Defy+ firmware(official 2.3.6 )by the service center and naturally that screwed up my battery and camera . So I guess I'm on BL7 ROM now. Camera came alive only after installing the CM10 Quarx ROM but the battery life doesn't seem to change much. I'm now on 17/11 ROM coz, heard that this ROM has battery battery backup, not sure how far will it help in my situation bcoz after the 2.3.6 firmware update by service center battery completely screwed up and used to last for half a day at most.
Plz let me know if there is a solution for the battery drain issue that I'm facing. May be a battery fix or something
Thanks and regards

never had the battery issue
are you sure your carrier updated your phone to defy+ firmware?
cause if so they should change it for you
do you have dfp 188 / dfp 231 / dfp 2311
check them somewhere in the about phone section from settings
if you have them youre surely on bl7
as for the battery dont know what to say
you can try to contact quarx for more details

I'm not sure what you are referring to and was unable to find what you have mentioned, but I'm pretty sure that my phone was upgraded to official 2.3.6 ROM by the service center and those f**** will not change it for me. And I'm not sure if at all it would be possible to go back to froyo as it was upgraded to official GB ROM.

if its defy+ rom you should see mb526 at your model number you cannot downgrade it
not untill the bootloader is unlocked and there are minimal chances
the only way is to stay on quarx's cm10
as for the battery drainage problem try to calibrate it
solved battery drain !!!

Hi Brother, It's been a loong time now.. but if you are still active here, could you please help me out with a stable 2nd boot Quarx ROM or any other stable 2nd boot ROM that works for me? As I'm still running on Nightlies (Sept 30th) and development on this is going painfully slow...: well can't complain though.. I just need something more stable.. the nightlies have some lag and the devices seems to be too slow even when not using data. I just want to put a stable OS on this and keep this aside.
Thanks for all the help from this community.. Really greatfull
