I'm thinking of buying an additional charger with cable and headset as a backup; possibly for primary use. What are your experiences with buying OEM-products from ebay. Are they really OEM; or knock-offs. Please judge the following links below and let me know; thanks in advance.

they look real to me except the last black charger, i got the headphones and the first charger in White, they look totally the same, but the last one has such a new layout i never saw before (Not the american Plug type, i mean the plastic design) which is probably because its the S3 one, but it doesnt matter, my old Nokia Charger charges the Note 2 just like any other MicroUSB charger... but the headphones differ, and that one should work

Put Original charger instead of OEM, you'll find a lot of different products.
I don't know why, but when they say OEM it means to them that it's JUST LIKE or NEAR original charger. I got OEM nokia wireless headphones, the jump back and forward buttons are backwards (when I press forward it goes back, and vice versa, even though they are IDENTICAL to the originals that Nokia makes!).
All of these items are OEM (Genuine Samsung), but I don't recommend to buy these chargers, because of they supply only 1A and you gonna kill your battery quickly. For Note 2 you need charger that supplies 2A.

I bough a european note and it came with a UK cheap ****ty charger in a separate bag.
Theres a genuine S2 samsung one on ebay for £6. Question is will this charge any quicker as the shiity one I got with the note takes 3-4 hours to charge the note.
How long should it take?
Thanks
whats the output of the "****ty" one?
i believe a regular GS2 is 800mah ... you wanna speed up your charge time, get a galaxy tab charger- 2A lol
That ****ty one is only 500mA, thats the problem! Cheers
The official Samsung charger for the Note has 1A output. The cheap ones work fine, but will take longer obviously (like twice as long) to charger.
the micro usb wire that came with my note is a much better fit than almost any other one i have. shouldnt they all be the same? also where can i buy a spare?
thanks

Do you mean one like this?
18 inches
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-Sam...513248?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1c20ed65a0

I usually get a few ebay batteries for my phone when i'm travelling but it seems that won't be the case this time around with the Nexus 4. Next option would be to pick up a portable battery charger. Any recommendations for one preferably with a built in concealable cable?
Something like this one but larger capacity: http://www.amazon.com/SlimTalk-Exte...TF8&colid=3JV3M6BBIVSNO&coliid=I3SU5TRGE8UZYR
I already have this one, it seems to work really well and will charge my Ipad, Nexus 7 and phones.

This is what I've got as well, it's pretty compact and easy to carry, plus the torch can come in handy at times too. Before that I had a 5000mAh Pebble, which was actually not that much smaller, and was a bit more of a nuisance because it didn't use microUSB to charge itself (instead opting for some weird tiny barrel connector).
I plan on getting one of these (the 10,000 Mah variant )

I may buy one later on. Until then I plan on making a solar charger for my car.

I have both of these. The one the OP is looking at doesn't last nearly as long as the MFG claims it does. The second one is great for the two settings 0.6 and 2.0 amps. The weird thing is that my N7 won't charge on the 2.0 amp setting. I have to connect it to the 0.6 amp setting. And the brand on mine is Anker. I like the latter better, tho you have to have a usb cable. Actually, now that I am thinking about it, it comes with some small cables and various connectors for different devices.

Can't wait until they build one of these with wireless charging built in. THEN I'll buy one
I just bought this one - check around for some coupon codes to get an additional $5 off. I liked the look of the Zagg sparq series and the ability to plug it in (no more carrying around an ac adapter) but the build quality is questionable and the price is too high!
What about this one http://www.amazon.com/New-Trent-IMP120D-Thunderbolt-Blackberry/dp/B003ZBZ64Q/ref=pd_cp_cps_3
It's a 12000 mAh.
I just ordered one of these 12000mAh from China off ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12000mAh-Ex...444570?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5d358dcf1a
I didn't buy from this particular seller and I haven't used it yet, so I can't recommend anything about it. (A bunch of sellers sell the same item.)
The marketing material seems legit and the price is good. I'll see if I made the right decision.
The width and height happens to be about the same as the S3 and N4. They claim an efficiency of 90% with the lithium polymer batteries. I would be happy if the N4 required one or two charges to get through an evening out and if this "power bank" could deliver ~4 charges.
The question is, how do you use these things? In the pocket, without an inductive Qi charger of the right size, i don't seem myself charging it with the cable in pocket regularly. It makes it a hassle to pull the phone out of the pocket and use. I see myself charging or powering the phone with it if I find myself sitting down for 10 mins or more, say at a meal.
How are you all planning to use an external battery brick?
yes, portable battery pack is required if you are high end user, playing high end games... I already have one
Is over-volting a big deal on these phones? It said in the manual not to use other manufacturer's chargers in danger of damaging the phone's hardware. I think I may have lost my charger that came with the phone.
No. Some people even refuse to use the stock charger.
All manuals state such things. Just use the third party one. It won't bite. However, don't buy the cheap ones. They suck bad.
Thanks, I'm just a little confused. I have a note as well, and I had the dock flex ribbon go out on me twice now. Some people in the note forum said that it might due to over-volting from aftermarket chargers.
Why wouldn't people want to use an oem charger though?

Some say it isn't powerful enough.
My history with li-po: only use what they say to use or your going to fry something.
Another reason I don't like the li-po batteries are each cell has a minimum volt it can be drained to and once that voltage is passed the cell becomes no good, swollen or completely exploded.
But what do I know, I only use li-po in my high performance RC cars.

So what's the verdict? To use, or not to use?
It's fine to use other chargers (unless they're the really cheap nasty kind).
Basically, the phone draws what it needs, so you're not at risk of it blowing up or anything.
I use the OEM Samsung charger from my wife's s2.
No overheating and works wonders.
Amazon has them for around 5bucks

Been thinking about getting a wireless charger for some time. However the price has been putting me off for a while.
But, now that demand for QI chargers have been growing, there are more cheaper versions available.
I've been looking around and seen the site mentioned a few times: http://www.fasttech.com
Prices are pretty good ($ to £) and there's free shipping. I've been looking at the USB version as I would want to plug it in to either my desktop or laptop rather than use a mains adaptor.
But I'm worried about the quality of these devices. They don't look too robust and might break easily. Also concerned about charging times, I've heard that cheap QI devices can take a long time to charge or don't fully charge the phone.
So, has anyone got any experience with these products : good/bad or are there better alternatives at the same price.
Thanks

People have been saying the Metrans one has been one of the best QI Chargers, As well as the Panasonic ones. Since more Flagship Phones (HTC ONE, Galaxy S4) are coming out with Qi Enabled I can see more chargers hitting the market. Ones I'm on the watch of are: QiMINI and the New Nokia Car Charger. The QiMINI mostly due to size and portability but if the price is over $60USD I'll pass since I can get the Metrans or the Orb for that much. The Nokia Car Charger looks very promising but if the Price is too high then I'll have to wait to see if other Car Chargers come out. And hopefully it won't have the QC Issues the other Nokia Charger had.
Yeah there are a lot of new designs hitting the market. However, I think paying over $30/£20 is too much for a 'novelty' charger. At the end of the day a wireless charger does exactly the the same job as a $1 cable but doesn't have the ability to transfer files. So I don't really warrant paying loads for a QI charger.
But on the other hand if I get a cheap one I don't want it to be crap!

You set your budget too high For what it does, I wouldn't pay more than 20 (plus shipping) for a QI charger. I believe they are so expensive now because of the novelty. Won't be too long, before they fall below the 20 mark. I already have one on order that costed me 21 including shipping. And that thing is as small as a hockey puck. Look it up in case you haven't, it's called the metrans mwt03

I disagree that it's a good counter. You don't need a wireless charger to transfer files wirelessly. How does that support the purchase decision of one? Add to that the fact that wireless transfer is slower than through a 1$ data cable, it actually weakens your counter
I made the point of Wireless chargers being a bit of a novelty in my review here:

Type into amazon "qi wireless charger" and it should be the first link that comes up, a white charging mat thats says "qi wireless charger" on it, sorry I cant post links :/
This charger has some good reviews on amazon and youtube, and its only £20 with postage! I dont think the official nexus orb is completely worth the money, since people have complained of problems with it not letting the nexus stick to it.
Yeah, so have a look for some videos on it on youtube

I can't comment on the speed of in car wireless chargers as I don't have one but the wireless charger I have at home isn't that slow at all, arguably if it's in a car then it will be on charge for the duration of the journey and so the time it takes to charge becomes slightly irrelevant.
Also charge time is dependant upon the current that the receiver can draw and the current that the base can deliver. The Base and receiver combination I have can work at about 800mA and so once you take a bit off for the inefficiency of wireless charging then they're not that much slower than a mains charger. if the 5V supply from your car charger can only deliver 500mA then yup it's gonna take a while It pays to look closely into the specs of these things before parting with your hard earned as cheap usually means just that.....sorry gone off topic

I went into my carriers store yesterday to look at the s5 and xperia z2. Came out with the z2. That darn flap would annoy me to buggery.
The z2 has the magnetic port on the left side which makes it slightly better.
Not wishing to troll, I've always been a Samsung fan since the Note2 and have upgraded to the s4 and then most recently the note 3 but the s5 didn't stand out for me.
Ok the z2 hasn't got all the features of the s4 or s5 but most of which I never used anyway, and those I did I used rarely.
Maybe in 6 months I'll go back to the Note when the 4 is released lol

Haha.
Wouldnt it be nice if we could take the best bits of several phones and amalgamate them together to make the perfect phone.
There is no perfect for everyone phone out there.
I change phones every few months now, so I suppose I know if I don't get along with the z2 I will sell it on.
So far I'm liking it though... The Sony skin isn't as heavy as TW. Can't say I'm missing any of the TW features yet... I think most are nice to have features but not essential.
