[Q] Help please? just ANYONE - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Already asked in the ' The Great Battery Life Impression ' Thread, but due to lots of traffic in there, would turn out your post un noticed.
Anyway, I have tried several roms and kernels, I cant bypass the 1:30 screen on time. At the time people saying they get 3+ hours of screen time. I am using the same apps I have used on my S3, or my Gnex, where I used to get 3 hours on there! What could be it ? My only fear is? are there faulty Nexus4's ? this is my fourth day with the device.

[Q] Battery Issue

Hello everybody,
I just bought my Flipout thought the design was kind of funny !
I am quite happy about it except the screen resolution (but I knew it before the purchase)
I need your help :
after a full charge I run out of battery after two hours of use (not standby), could you eventually help identify what is wrong ? is it because of the apps running in background or because the battery capacity is bad ? (or both )
The apps I am running: nimbuz, gtalk, several mail accounts, that is more or less it.
Another point, I have noticed that on heavy loads the Flipout becomes an oven, have you experienced the same ?
Many thanks for your help,
Bao

The other half uses this phone
had the same problem
after a few hours the battery died completely.
I turned off the happenings rubbish and the facebook stuff and everything seems fine now
sadly i cant install any battery monitoring software to work out what was really causing the issue
(as i've actually turned off most stuff on the phone now apart from background syncing)
battery seems fine now
Personally i believe the problem was the whappenings widgets on the home screen and the battery conditioning
Hello
right ! I suspect the data exchanges could be the reason
we could also diminish the frequency of 'mail checking'
I was actually thinking of getting a second battery or making a usb charger with AA batteries for this, something like that, so I could use it how I want and extend battery life

[Q] Inaccurate Awake / Screen On

Hey, I am not sure if this has been covered before, however I tried searching - didn't find anything.
I've been wondering about this since I got my the N4. WHY THE HELL is the screen on time not aligned with the Awake time?
Why does it say that the phone is barely awake at all?!?!
I loved that I could always see both (android 4.1)
Now its just IMHO broken:
Check it out
Any help is appreciated !
Bump
Someone must know something!

[Q] Battery draining instantly from 30% to 0

Hey all,
Thanks for looking at this in advance.
Total Droid noob here...I purchased my first android device about 2 weeks ago, a Galaxy S5 on AT&T (Love it!)
Needless to say, I haven't really done much of anything out of the ordinary with it.
I've installed a few official Apps from the Play Store and nothing else. No custom roms, no random apps/packages from the web, etc.
Just today, my phone was sitting idle (asleep) next to me as it always does at my desk. I looked at it to check the battery and it showed about 51%. No issue at all with that...I used to it to read my RSS feeds, listen to Spotify, and a bunch of other things on my way into work.
However, maybe a little over an hour or so, I went back to check on it...and the device was completely off.
0% battery, completely drained...
I was baffled, but this was the second time I had seen this happen. The first time it I ignored it, figuring I was just drunk or something. But now, I feel like I'm going crazy!
A friend told me to check the 'Battery' info inside Settings.
Granted Instagram was high on that list, using like 14% of battery or whatever...but thats not what struck me. It was the graph depicting the battery use (SEE ATTACHED)
Notice that it went from ~30% to 0 pretty much instantly
Basically, I'm coming on here as a noob with a few questions:
is this normal? is this known? is there a solution? should I return my phone?
Thanks a ton for any help you all can provide.
Please let me know if you need any more information, screenshots, etc.
Nothing to worry about, mate. Stuff like that does happen time to time. It may have been miscalibration on the software part. If the problem persists, than you shoul check for the battery malfunction.
Regardless of the platform, sometimes an app misbehaves and causes abnormal battery usage.
When you notice your battery level decreasing at an alarming rate when idling, reboot the phone and it should be fine.

I am from another device (Sony Xperia Z1) and I suffer the same problem with you bro. Still figuring how to fix this. This is freaking me out. :crying:

(Q) my phone won't go to deep sleep ?

my phone note 3 n900 with official Russian lollipop and with leaked one
i really start to hate the phone and i think of sell it because of this problem
i try factory rest and flash new ROM still the same problem even i try a new battery but the problem still the same and battery live get worst
my phone wont stand a half of day and screen on time in best time 4 hours and sometimes just 3 or 2 hours
what is the problem and how to fix it
see the screenshot
Looks like you've got a wakelock. Tried Wakelock detector? (If you're rooted.)
2-4h screen on time is very normal, by the way.
Have you tried removing the MicroSD for a while, if you're using one?
Sent From My Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 Using Tapatalk
I donot use sd card and just 2 hours screentime i think it is not normal because i need to charge my mobile twice in one day
You Might Have Bad mp3 Files.Use Wakelok Detector As Mentioned. If You Find 1013 Audimix On Top Of The App Then That Would Be The Prob.Or It Might Be Simething Else.
any help please

Hassan, you can't get any help without posting the required info. Install BetterBatteryStats or Wakelock detector (as someone already said) and monitor what app/process is keeping your phone awake mate. Those screenshots can't tell anything about this issue.

WhatsApp battery drain

Hi guys, Whatsapp has been particulary taxing on my battery while hardly using it, even after the last update. Battery usage has been around 30% at the end of the day. I've read that its been a problem across multiple brands/models but my brother had no problem on his galaxy s9. Check it out. Anyone has had similar issues with a fix / solution? (I do want to keep getting push notifications tho)
had it once about 2 weeks ago on miui 11, whatsapp just ate my fully charged battery through the night (less than 6h).
update apps, restart phone
you know whatsapp is from Mark Z.? they need to record this and that, download all kinds of files, build your database, so they can "provide better experience"

Disable all notifications from whatsapp (within the app and on the OS)
