Cellular One sbf or nandroid? - Bravo General

Does anyone happen to have a sbf or a nandroid backup for the Bravo on Cellular One. I flashed the stock ATT sbf before i realized the phone was from Cellular One. Now I have no service. If anyone has a backup or sbf, I would appreciate it.

You just need to enter you correct APN or flash CM7 which already has that info already. AFAIK, the only Bravo SBF is for AT&T. I'd like to see another Bravo SBF actually, but I doubt we will. You might get lucky on a nandroid of a non AT&T Bravo, but I've never seen one of them either.
Just flash CM7, you're better off with it.

Thanks for your response. I don't think the ATT firmware works for my Cellular One phone. Its not just data that is broken, it is also cellular service. I says error when i try to do a manual search for networks. I think the firmware broke the radio.
cm9 nightly is what i have flashed on it right. I didn't try cm7.

AFAIK, there's only the one official baseband for the Bravo and it shouldn't break the radio. While you're on CM9, write down your APN settings and try them the next time you flash the sbf. I'm thinking the sbf just doesn't have the correct APN for you. If the carrier came out after 2010, then it won't. If that doesn't work, you can just use the Defy Baseband Switcher and use any of the 850\1900 basebands -- I use Argentina\Claro and get better service and reception on AT&T than with the actual AT&T baseband.

I had forgot about the baseband switcher, but it didn't work either. The phone was in a bootloop when I got it, so it may be a hardware crash. i was able to get it to work by rsd (except for no service). I just thought it not being an ATT phone, that might be the problem. I guess it's just an andro-pod now. You win some, you lose some. Thanks for trying to help.

duh!!!!!!!!! I realized it was a Cellular One phone, but it never registered that I needed to sim unlock it. In the back of my mind I was still thinking it was ATT, and expected my sim to work. I will try to unlock it, and see if it works then. I hate it when I try to make things more difficult than they are. hopefully it will work, if I can find someone that unlocks Cellular One phones.

Milestone SBF on Droid X
I have a rooted Droid X that I flashed to alltel's network, however certian things like 3G and MMS were not working so I thought I would try to flash the alltel SBF to the phone and it worked! Kinda...it just isn't booting...I think it just needs to be wiped and SBF flashed again but I'm not sure. Either way now I'm stuck with a phone that I can't boot. Any ideas?
I figured it out...just needed to get into recovery by booting with home button and pressing the search button and wiping...after that I did another wipe and now everything is working perfectly, I think...still have to check the MMS but 3G is working like a champ!
just wanted to leave some important info concerning "STANDALONE GPS"
on my MB810`s i am not activated and have the BLUE TRIANGLE in notification bar with my stock OTA FROYO 2.2.340 or my OTA GB 4.5.596 on both my DX`s
you can not get STANDALONE GPS working if you have VZW and no activation!!!
i flashed to this alltel SBF from above and i have STANDALONE GPS and alot less bloatware from verizon
so we are running android 2.2.1....
is there no GB for this MB809?
i know this is an old thread but i know google tends to lead people to this thread so i needed to post. found out today alltel updated their activation number and therfor or atleast in my area this sbf will not let my activate my phone due to the built in old one. if anyone has any solutions please post it even if this thread is old. im also active in the droidxforums i know many people are eventually going to run into this problem as well.
thanks

what change? what the new way?
No, there hasn't been a Gingerbread release for the Milestone X that the regional carriers use. Hopefully it'll come.
So what's a guy supposed to do to get a DroidX to work on Alltel?
Just flash the Alltel SBF and everything will work just fine. Make sure you don't try to SBF back to 2.2 once you get the 2.3.5 update or it will brick your phone.
Anyone know is there is a Verizon software version that will also leave a brick if you try to SBF to Alltel? I have an X that someone wants me to flash but i'm scared to screw their phone up. It has the 2.3.3 version.

I have not.... was hoping for a simple process to flashing it back to sprint =/ but i'll take a look into that then.
I found that the Evo, my friend has is not rooted and has the 2.3.3 update, I've read to unflash the phone back to sprint i would have to flash a stock ROM that contains the Sprint ESN. but the problem is can a 2.3.3 Evo be rooted at least get CWM on it to flash the stock ROM? anyway around this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First I would find out with sprint if the esn is good.

an Evo flashed to MPCS is likely going to have a bad ESN and will not be able to be activated on Sprint again, hence the reason that phone was probably sold (or was stolen). However, that's not guaranteed. Definitely need to call up Sprint and check the ESN/MEID, or try this website http://www.checkesnfree.com/index.html, no clue if it really works though.
The ESN has not been changed on the device at all. The rom has nothing to do with the carrier. The phone can have whatever rom you desire on it and work on Sprint, MetroPCS, or Cricket if flashed properly. No ESN change necessary.
Btw, if that phone has the 2.3.3 update on it already then it IS a stock Sprint rom, and you won't be flashing other roms to that phone since the boot loader is going to be locked.
However, this should not stop you from being able to put the phone in diagnostic mode and flash the phone back to Sprint using QPST or some other phone flashing software.

Thanks for the response, and yes, the phone was sold to my friend which he later found out it was flashed to Metro PCS, and since the phone is on 2.3.3 the last option would be to call sprint and see if anything can be done.

[RADIO] 1.97.00R INT'L post

Hello all,
I have a T-Mobile UK Atrix and I was looking for the 1.97.00R radio to install so I would stop getting random reboots on Alien #4 (which i'm just testing now)
A member by the username "racca" made a post in his thread with sbf files for 1.92.00R and 1.97.00R for International users, located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14867756&postcount=47
I can confirm that the 1.97.00R sbf file flashed fine on my T-mobile UK Atrix (unlocked) and I have made a call etc. It does have the 1 bar bug but I don't mind =]
This is just a post for information, as I spent 2 days looking for this radio. Thanks all.

ATT ATRIX used internationally
I have always had this question but never got a crystal clear answer for! I am using a SIM unlocked ATT Atrix outside USA. what radios should i consider? ATT or International? I'm worried that if I installed an international radio this might affect the hardware as the device was manufactured to work on ATT networks?

AT&T. It is an AT&T phone, no matter where you use it.
what exactly is the procedure to flash radios?
Do you flash radios after custom rom or before? or it doesn't matter?
do you have to wipe cache? factory reset? before? after?
I've seen ppl say to wipe before flashing radios... how do you do this when you are flashing with an sbf file and RDS?
Do you have to re flash the ROM when installing new radios?
I'm not sure if there's a thread showing clear instructions... I couldn't find it.
thanks

I flash the radio last. I wipe the Dalvik and cache. Don't need to factory reset. I boot into CWM, clear the caches then reboot the phone while holding the up volume button and then I flash the radio through rsd lite. This has worked for me. Remember you will probably have to deal with the 1 bar issue. Also remember that using rsd is very dangerous after having updated to gb. I have used it to only flash radios and have not ever had a problem. When I need to flash a rom I always use CWM (romracer) and if I need to go back to a clean gb I use Fruitcakes.
thanks.

Is it possible? u8800-51 downgrade and full restore and still no 3g

I have managed to downgrade from official 2.3.7 MIUI Gingerbread for u8800pro, to my official stock rom for u8800-51.
First, I downgraded to a u8800pro 2.2 rom (with baseband 203026, same as my stock rom u8800-51), and then I did a full restore with my old rom (u8800-51 froyo).
I thought the full restore wasnt going to work, because they are different models and we are talking about a FULL restore: boot files, system files, data, cache.. EVERYTHING.
it worked and great. But I still got no 3g (I lost it when I installed official 2.3.5 gingerbread for u8800pro because the baseband changed).
HOW CAN THIS BE POSSIBLE?
I replaced all the files (including image ones), I have restored the baseband, i restored all the apns. Why isnt 3g working?
Is there any other file that I am missing?
PD: I will attach a screenshot of my phone looking NOW (with no 3g).
PLEASE help!
Have you tried forcing 3G only? And do you have the APN Settings in correctly?

Yeah, already tried that.. I forced "WCDMA only" and I lose 3g and also the signal..
Also, I restored my original apns (from a backup I did with u8800-51 froyo with 3g working) and still doesnt works. In fact, I tried deleting all APN except the one for my operator and still doesnt works.
I think there are files that are not restored in the CWM backup (neither backed - up)
I know this because of this post:
[TUT] Full U8800 backup with Linux howto
This is what he say:
I used this method to revert to a pre 2.3.5BETA state. Huawei's update wrote a new bootloader, which is something not included in CWM backups and restores.

I think that if someone with original froyo in u8800-51 do this backup, and share with us the img file, we would be able to get 3G back.-

skipped i agree after a fubar upgrade to huawei's 2.3.5 (before i knew it was not good for u8800-51) i finally got phone working again sorta by putting in the u8800pro rom it reverted me back to 2.2.2 froyo. but its just not quite right. dummy me did not back up anything first, im new to this kinda thing and i figured hey its an update from the manufacturer it should work just fine 0_o. long story short i would love if someone had all the files needed to put it back to the way it was when i bought it. it would be greatly appreciated. otherwise i fear i am looking at buying another phone which i cant afford atm
P.S. i dont care if the 3g works or not as i am on AT&T prepaid plan, and we only get edge anyhow. jusst want my old phone back.....lol

Updating my samsung fascinate (sch I 500) to the latest gingerbread

Hi everyone!
I'm very new to all this but still I don't want to get stuck with an old OS. I currently have a samsung sch-i500 (same as verizon fascinate) which I bought from reliance in india. It's currently running the stock OS ie android 2.1 eclair. Now I want to update my phone to android 2.3. The mobile operater won't give any ota updates. Hence I will have to rely on updating via pc. Can someone help me out with the same.
Thanks in advance.

Is it a CDMA phone? You're still on Reliance in India, correct?
I would recommend you look at the beginner's guide/FAQ and do just a little bit of research. While that thread itself is no longer maintained, the original post links to two other threads. There is a thread written by Droidstyle, easily found, that will tell you everything you need to do to get to the latest version of Gingerbread or even all the way to ICS.
My only concern is that you may lose your 3g if you don't flash the correct ROM.
Hi jawman27,
Yes it's a cdma phone on the reliance india mobile network. I'll surely search for the threads that you have mentioned in your post. In the meanwhile, could you clarify what you meant by losing 3G connectivity. I'm getting 3.1 mbps speed through evdo. Will i not be able to use the evdo once I upgrade?

When flashing MTD Roms on a fascinate from a different carrier you could end up losing your 3g data but flashing back to touchwiz should bring it back. Avoid doing those update your prl stuff by dialing a code on your dialer. Your not on Verizon so it would make it worse it, you will lose your data permanently and you need to take back to your carrier to get back your data.

Does that mean i can never upgrade my phone unless the carrier decides to give an ota update?
As he mentioned, look for DROIDSTYLES guide
Its in GENERAL section, read thru it carefully and you will find what you need.

Lol, you could upgrade. Just saying don't do those update prl dial code. I think you would also need massaints 3g data zip if you lose 3g just by flashing an MTD rom to get data back.
Edit: I'll post link to massaints thread or put up the zip if you need it. I know the thread is here somewhere, its just got buried deep after ics came out . It was only needed during CM7 days

I found this thread where a lot of people on Reliance were fine using EH03 and the Superclean ROM.
http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/3...gets-first-official-gingerbread-leak-in-eh03/
Read the guide and go for it. EH03 was the latest version of Gingerbread sent out to Verizon customers. Superclean3 is a great custom ROM, definitely worth considering. Perhaps just do it on a day off, though. That way you have all day to fix it if something goes wrong. Good luck.
Thanks jawman27,
But theres one thing I noticed from that thread is that everyone is using a unlocked verizon fascinate and not the one provided by reliance. And I'm yet to find someone who's still on Eclair DL14
One more query, how do I take complete backup. (my phone is not rooted) and where would I find the MIN No
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA
I see. Well, it shouldn't hurt anything to follow section 6 of droidstyle's guide and do a basic rooting of the phone. Once you have CWM installed, you will be able to make a nandroid backup of your phone that will save to your sd card.
Once you have your backup you could then go on to install eh03.
I can't imagine these simple steps would mess up your phone or wireless data, but these are all really just suppositions. You can't possibly be the first one on Reliance to experience this problem/desire. Can you find any forums back home with people who have accomplished this? If not, and you are truly the trailblazer, we should certainly document what happens.
I'm not sure about the MIN number. Any ideas, folks?
Hi!
I have downloaded all the files required for basic rooting of my phone as mentioned in droidstyle's guide section 6.But on reading it carefully i noticed that the rooting process & files are for rooting froyo (I am still on eclair version)? Will this effect the procedure in any way? Or just by doing this rooting will i be upgraded to froyo?
Also, after the rooting procedure is done, will i have to do any settings for connecting to my service provider for voice & data? or does it remain untouched?
Sorry for being so noobish but pls understand that this is the very first attempt at modding my phone..
I'm glad you're reading so closely. I've never actually done this exact process myself, so perhaps others will comment, but I believe that you won't even need to install the Superuser zip to accomplish what you want to do in this first step, which is to do a backup of your phone.
With Odin, you can install CWM Recovery, which should allow you do a nandroid backup to your phone's sd card. Once you have that backup and the added confidence it brings, you should then be able to use Odin to flash the EH03 stock ROM.
I'm thinking you may not even require the basics of what droidstyle's guide offers (root access, custom ROMs etc.) It sounds like you'd be happy on an unrooted gingerbread that works. I really wish you'd been able to find other Reliance users doing the same thing. That's my only hangup on this. Having said that, these are the basic steps I'm recommending:
Use Odin to flash the CWM recovery file you downloaded.
Boot the phone into recovery mode, just as droidstyle explains (three fingers).
Navigate to the option to make a backup, and let it finish.
Use options in CWM to wipe data, cache, and dalvik (this will wipe all apps/contacts/text messages from your phone, but it won't affect your sd card).
Power down the phone (you may have to reboot before you can do this).
Go back into download mode and use Odin to flash the stock EH03 ROM.
Reinstall whichever apps you want.
There are others in these forums far more knowledgeable, so perhaps they'll comment or confirm if we're lucky.
I've done a complete return to stock several times, even using the atlas repartioning file, and I've never lost my phone activation or mobile data. I don't have any reason to think you'll need to do anything else to keep your phone working.
Yup, flashing Touchwiz won't make you lose your 3g data. Just gingerbread MTDs. Even ice cream MTDs won't make you lose your 3g data on a none Verizon network. I don't really know why it's just gingerbread MTDs that does that, I just go with the flow.

Hi guys!
yesterday I finally made up my mind and decided to take the plunge. I backed up all my apps, contacts and messages. And just when I was through with all these, I just connected my phone to my laptop and connected using kies mini. To my surprise, I saw an update to my phone. Build EK10. I checked from the xda forum and rimweb and found it to be an official upgrade by reliance and samsung. So I followed the instructions and finally I'm on froyo now. It has unlocked quite a few options on my handset now.
Feeling better as for now but yes I'll definitely want myself on gb or ics soon..
Thank you all for the wonderful support that you guys extended to me.

Using CWM for flashing EH03 radio
Hi!
I was earlier on EH18 rom & now I am currently on geewiz 2.8 kernal & system (which was flashed using CWM red recovery) with EH18 radio. I have tried to Odin stock EH03 rom (md5 is correct) on my phone but could not go beyond modem.bin. I tried the same with FC27 rom too. Every time i try to odin i am getting stuck at modem.bin.
Has my handset been locked by my service provider from whom i have bought the handset ie Reliance (india)?
If yes, how do i unlock it safely without disturbing any other settings so that i do not lose my connectivity with them?
If no, what else could be wrong?
Can i flash EH03 baseband (radio) via CWM??
I need to do this as I'm not able to upgrade my handset to AKOP ICS roms which need my phone to be atleast on EH03 before starting.
Thanks in advance
