[RADIO] 1.97.00R INT'L post - Atrix 4G General

Hello all,
I have a T-Mobile UK Atrix and I was looking for the 1.97.00R radio to install so I would stop getting random reboots on Alien #4 (which i'm just testing now)
A member by the username "racca" made a post in his thread with sbf files for 1.92.00R and 1.97.00R for International users, located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14867756&postcount=47
I can confirm that the 1.97.00R sbf file flashed fine on my T-mobile UK Atrix (unlocked) and I have made a call etc. It does have the 1 bar bug but I don't mind =]
This is just a post for information, as I spent 2 days looking for this radio. Thanks all.

There's now a fix for the 1 bar bug in the Dev section but it seems some people are having problems with it so it seems kinda beta. Just released today.

Hehe, just tried it myself. It works well =] Thanks for your reply though.

ATT ATRIX used internationally
I have always had this question but never got a crystal clear answer for! I am using a SIM unlocked ATT Atrix outside USA. what radios should i consider? ATT or International? I'm worried that if I installed an international radio this might affect the hardware as the device was manufactured to work on ATT networks?

AT&T. It is an AT&T phone, no matter where you use it.

what exactly is the procedure to flash radios?
Do you flash radios after custom rom or before? or it doesn't matter?
do you have to wipe cache? factory reset? before? after?
I've seen ppl say to wipe before flashing radios... how do you do this when you are flashing with an sbf file and RDS?
Do you have to re flash the ROM when installing new radios?
I'm not sure if there's a thread showing clear instructions... I couldn't find it.
thanks

I flash the radio last. I wipe the Dalvik and cache. Don't need to factory reset. I boot into CWM, clear the caches then reboot the phone while holding the up volume button and then I flash the radio through rsd lite. This has worked for me. Remember you will probably have to deal with the 1 bar issue. Also remember that using rsd is very dangerous after having updated to gb. I have used it to only flash radios and have not ever had a problem. When I need to flash a rom I always use CWM (romracer) and if I need to go back to a clean gb I use Fruitcakes.

thanks.
anyone used this radio with cm7 beta?

Im trying to my cm7, i will update it afterwards

Just saw that thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074852 ). I wasn't quite sure why a final T-mo rom would be in the development forum, seems a little counter intuitive? I guess the dev forum really means the rom forum. anyway, thanks guys.

Its got a lot more than just ROMs, but also kernels, radios, guides, and other tools. Some stuff are custom or modded, some are stock tools that developers and others will find useful.
Please help -- how to flash this new stock gingerbread rom to a rooted g2
I have a rooted G2 running CM7, but the gps is totally dead. I'm too much of a noob to flash a new radio, which I think would do the trick. Flashing this stock gingerbread rom seems like the perfect solution because it includes an updated radio and i am just sure it will fix the gps problem.
I bought the phone rooted and I know how to flash new rooted roms through clockwork (so easy), but I have absolutely no idea how to flash a rom like this that updates everything.
I'm sure this question has been asked here before, but can someone just point me to a step-by-step instructions about how to flash this particular stock gingerbread rom to a g2 that is rooted and has clockwork installed?
Thanks~! This is my first post.

Flashing a radio is easy. Just follow the steps in the radio thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809
I know the second method (fastboot and radio.img files) is supposed to be safer. But that looks like it might be over your head, and you need the Eng Hboot to do it.
Flashing a ROM is easy, too. Just move the file to your SD card, and flash from ROM Manager. You will see an option "Install ROM from SD Card". Browse to the file, and the rest is the same as if you downloaded the ROM using ROM Manager.
Thanks, but a few more questions . . .

Thanks for the reply! I think you are underestimating how new I am to this, though. My question is really this: does it matter, when flashing the new gingerbread rom for g2 that just came out, that the rom is not just a rom, but also a radio and everything else? it is titled in the "PC10IMG" form, which seems to me, from reading other threads, to be a special thing.
[full title: PC10IMG_Vision_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.13.531.8_Radio_12.52.60.25_26.08.04.30_M3_release_188635_signed]
also, would you recommend that i wipe stuff before flashing? when the person who flashed my phone with me last time did it, he wiped dalvik cache and two others (can't remember which, or where he found them in recovery), and user data as well. but if you go to do it within clockwork, it doesn't ask you to do that, does it? again, i'm sure there is a thread about this somewhere.
sorry sorry to be so new to this! and thanks a ton for the help.

well, it's a bit complicate.
supposedly the rom will return your phone to a totally stock state, which will give you the new radio etc, but you will not have root - this was already confirmed. One other forum member mentioned that he flashed the rom and did not loose S-OFF, which is a controversy...
update: lol, dude having CM on your phone means you already have clockwork installed. you just need the /system part of the leak and it's available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074852
Really all he needs to do is run vision efs wipe. This been gone over a million times. CM + gps broke = needing efs wipe. No need to get into radios and all that just yet.

you can solve your gps issues by following two basics:
1. match libs in /system/libs with your radio version,
2. wipe two partitions like it is explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028405
You don't need the new rom, though - it still has the 2 muted seconds when receiving an incoming call - for me that is the no go.

I thought you were talking about the version of the leak that is mentioned in the last post (#10) and also mentioned above in post #4, which is pre-rooted. Thats the one you want. Flash from ROM Manager.
If you are talking about flashing this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074391
This is the official ROM, and as stated in the previous post, you will lose root. So you probably want to avoid this.
PC10IMG.ZIP files are flashable from Hboot (CWM not required). But since you have Clockwork, I believe you can flash any ROM or patch, as long as its a ZIP file. Its safer to flash from CWM anyway, so avoid Hboot for flashing ROMs.
Not positive, but I think you can keep your data since you are going between similar ROMs (Gingerbread, non-Sense). Wiping dalvik and cache are advisable. Not doing so when switching ROMs can lead to random bugs, and there is no real reason to not wipe them. You can wipe dalvik and cache in recovery. If you want to wipe data, you can also do that in recovery, under "advanced". But you will lose all your user data.
If you flash from ROM Manager, it will ask if you want to wipe. But I've never been clear on what all exactly is wiped (dalvik, cache, data). It might be all 3 of those.
Sorry, I've just stated a bunch of things I'm not completely sure about. So hopefully somebody else can confirm these.
The good news is, do a backup of your current ROM in ROM Manager before you flash anything, and if you screw up anything, you can just go into recovery and load your backup.
please help -- do not want to brick

I actually would prefer this to flashing a version of this rom that someone else has extracted/altered, however little. My fear is two things:
1 -- Will it brick my phone to flash a PCIMG file? (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838484)
2 -- what do I have to do differently to flash a PCIMG file other than what I normally would do in clockwork to flash another rom (for example a CM rom)
THANKS!

I have tried that, to no avail. I see others who have tried that and failed, and things seem to get tricky after that. I agree, I would rather avoid the nitty gritty stuff.
So I am devastated to see that there is no lock animation =(. That was something I was really looking forward to, despite the insignificance.

My opinion, you're better off flashing the rooted ROM. If you flash the official PC10IMG.ZIP, you will lose root, and not be able to get it back without downgrading (negating the purpose of flashing the official ROM in the first place).
Are you worried about malicious, or accidentally harmful modifications to the ROM (in the rooted version of the leak)? I don't worry much about ROMs for reputable developers. But admittedly, I don't know anything about that user that posted the rooted version of the leak.
In response to your questions:
1) As the thread you posted indicates, its safer not to flash those files unless you know exactly what you are doing.
2) I think you can flash from Clockwork. But as I said, if you aren't sure what you are doing, its not a good idea. You will lose root, and I think some people have also gotten S-On by flashing the official ROMs also. I which case, you may be pretty screwed (as far as getting root), since you can't flash other ROMs with S-On.
Alright so I've reading through all sorts of different forums and feel lost and exactly what to do. I downloaded the official 2.3 update ROM for the G2 that Football had released off of a mirrored site from my phone's browser then renamed it PC10IMG and moved to the root of the SD card. I then did the whole volume down + power button to load the zip but for some reason it says:

[GUIDE] Flash OLYEM 2.1.1 on ATT Atrix

Just flashed france's version of froyo on my ATT US Atrix and I have to say that it much better compared to our stock ATT Froyo(OLYFR 1.8.3)
Prerequisites
AT&T Atrix 4G with and UNLOCKED bootloader
Windows OS x64/x86
Motorola drivers installed
Alright, download these two files(1, 2) and use hjsplit to merge them.
Once the .rar file is merged, go ahead and extract it to to the root of your C drive and then you should have a folder in there called moto-fastboot.
Now its time to start flashing. Follow the following steps, one at a time.
Firstly, put your device in Fastboot mode by holding the volume down button while booting then volume up
Open up a command prompt and type
cd C:\moto-fastboot
moto-fastboot flash boot boot.img
moto-fastboot flash system system.img
moto-fastboot flash webtop webtop.img
moto-fastboot flash preinstall preinstall.img
moto-fastboot -w
moto-fastboot reboot
If you followed the steps correctly you should have OLYEM 2.1.1 on your AT&T Atrix.
Cheers!

I pm'd you, hopefully it went through. Was wondering if it would be possible to use your methods to flash 1.8.3 on a Bell Atrix, and then unlock the bootloader from there.
Great news. I was always wanting to flash the AT&T Atrix with the UK France firmware, but thought and was told it would brick the phone because of the different bands.
Is it just flashing sbf file using rsdlite
or
Using moto-flashboot flashing the smg files?
Please post the guide
Edit (found the method in other thread):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15199499&postcount=11
Uploading files, will post guide once its done.
I tried almost everything (reflash At&t, flash elements one by one with reboot everytime)... nothing works... It will be a great thing to have your guide
What's so special about the France build?
Well optimized (less laggy), better battery, MMS working on french network, Azerty keyboard for my azerty laptopdock... no at&t bloatware

Run this script then use gingerbreak to root(SD card must be inserted with USB debugging turned on).
Add apn using these settings.

lol reflashed back to 2.1.1, and just used gb without the prep and it went through fine.
good looks, i like this version of blur. looks better.
edit - this has been such a fun night of flashing that i've popped my sim card out and put it in my iphone 4 temp. those apn settings work, but here's the issue. i'm getting data speeds that are worse than vzw 3g. i'm normally around 4-6 mbs down/ 1 up where i am, and i was getting .4 and .4 up/down. also tried to add the manual one from android central for the samsung g s II, and that didn't work at all. until that gets figured out, i'm going to leave the sim card in my iphone
Cool, will prolly flash this, this weekend. Thanks for the guide!
Now I can't wait for the French GB Atrix build
This is great news since ATTA4G owners won't have to wait for ATT for update releases.

T-Mobile Uk Roms

Hi all, just got an upgrade this week to the Atrix and thoroughly enjoying it so far. As a poweruser with the HD2 and all the hacks involved like android on nand etc, the first thing I did out of the box was root it.
Now to my point, all the custom roms I'm seeing seem to be for At+t and Bell (is that the right carriers?), and the forum is Atrix 4G. So can I as a UK user use these same roms/radios that are outlined in the development forum?
Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.
Greetings. I have the same backround as you . I nearly stayed with my hd2 but i'm glad I didn't. The only gingerbread rom for us is the orange one in the dev forum. I have had no success flashing this yet. Soft bricked 3 times and counting.
There is an international fruit cake in the works rich we will be able to flash from CWM.
So far rooting is fine.
Unlockingbootloader is fine.
flashing Cwm if fine.
I keep meaning to start a t-mob uk thread to collect all the info for us uk tmob users into one place. I will get round to it eventualy if some one doesn't beer me to it.

Hi there.
I am on Orange U.K, and i have successfully flashed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169409. Following this guide to flash the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167373.
Many international users have flashed this ROM as well but REMEMBER to unlock your bootloader before even considering flashing this ROM.
When unlocking your bootloader, you will notice that you will only have around 300 total RAM but if you flash the hack relevant to your device, you will retain your RAM when you flash to Gingerbread.
Please follow the guide properly and don't skip any step. BTW, if your bootloader is not unlocked, we will probably be getting Gingerbread soon since the SOAK testing is about to begin very soon.
Similar story, i'm on Orange, followed those steps and it's working great. Just had to replace the missing sound files, but apart from that, works a treat.

Now since we have an unlocked bootloader, you can flash any ROM. Just make sure you flash the proper boot.img for your phone. See the fixes section for the pudding thread.

I thought we still had to be careful with the Roms, as some of them contain files that are tied to the kernel version (until the port everything over). For example, the ninja rom, I believe it is crrently tied to AT&T at the moment. I presumed we had to wait for a safe INTL version..
I think we can install and lunch any Rom now. The only limitation for inte. users is Ram issue. Otherwise will work fine.

Updating my samsung fascinate (sch I 500) to the latest gingerbread

Hi everyone!
I'm very new to all this but still I don't want to get stuck with an old OS. I currently have a samsung sch-i500 (same as verizon fascinate) which I bought from reliance in india. It's currently running the stock OS ie android 2.1 eclair. Now I want to update my phone to android 2.3. The mobile operater won't give any ota updates. Hence I will have to rely on updating via pc. Can someone help me out with the same.
Thanks in advance.

Is it a CDMA phone? You're still on Reliance in India, correct?
I would recommend you look at the beginner's guide/FAQ and do just a little bit of research. While that thread itself is no longer maintained, the original post links to two other threads. There is a thread written by Droidstyle, easily found, that will tell you everything you need to do to get to the latest version of Gingerbread or even all the way to ICS.
My only concern is that you may lose your 3g if you don't flash the correct ROM.
Hi jawman27,
Yes it's a cdma phone on the reliance india mobile network. I'll surely search for the threads that you have mentioned in your post. In the meanwhile, could you clarify what you meant by losing 3G connectivity. I'm getting 3.1 mbps speed through evdo. Will i not be able to use the evdo once I upgrade?

When flashing MTD Roms on a fascinate from a different carrier you could end up losing your 3g data but flashing back to touchwiz should bring it back. Avoid doing those update your prl stuff by dialing a code on your dialer. Your not on Verizon so it would make it worse it, you will lose your data permanently and you need to take back to your carrier to get back your data.

Does that mean i can never upgrade my phone unless the carrier decides to give an ota update?
As he mentioned, look for DROIDSTYLES guide
Its in GENERAL section, read thru it carefully and you will find what you need.

Lol, you could upgrade. Just saying don't do those update prl dial code. I think you would also need massaints 3g data zip if you lose 3g just by flashing an MTD rom to get data back.
Edit: I'll post link to massaints thread or put up the zip if you need it. I know the thread is here somewhere, its just got buried deep after ics came out . It was only needed during CM7 days

I found this thread where a lot of people on Reliance were fine using EH03 and the Superclean ROM.
http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/3...gets-first-official-gingerbread-leak-in-eh03/
Read the guide and go for it. EH03 was the latest version of Gingerbread sent out to Verizon customers. Superclean3 is a great custom ROM, definitely worth considering. Perhaps just do it on a day off, though. That way you have all day to fix it if something goes wrong. Good luck.
Thanks jawman27,
But theres one thing I noticed from that thread is that everyone is using a unlocked verizon fascinate and not the one provided by reliance. And I'm yet to find someone who's still on Eclair DL14
One more query, how do I take complete backup. (my phone is not rooted) and where would I find the MIN No
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA
I see. Well, it shouldn't hurt anything to follow section 6 of droidstyle's guide and do a basic rooting of the phone. Once you have CWM installed, you will be able to make a nandroid backup of your phone that will save to your sd card.
Once you have your backup you could then go on to install eh03.
I can't imagine these simple steps would mess up your phone or wireless data, but these are all really just suppositions. You can't possibly be the first one on Reliance to experience this problem/desire. Can you find any forums back home with people who have accomplished this? If not, and you are truly the trailblazer, we should certainly document what happens.
I'm not sure about the MIN number. Any ideas, folks?
Hi!
I have downloaded all the files required for basic rooting of my phone as mentioned in droidstyle's guide section 6.But on reading it carefully i noticed that the rooting process & files are for rooting froyo (I am still on eclair version)? Will this effect the procedure in any way? Or just by doing this rooting will i be upgraded to froyo?
Also, after the rooting procedure is done, will i have to do any settings for connecting to my service provider for voice & data? or does it remain untouched?
Sorry for being so noobish but pls understand that this is the very first attempt at modding my phone..
I'm glad you're reading so closely. I've never actually done this exact process myself, so perhaps others will comment, but I believe that you won't even need to install the Superuser zip to accomplish what you want to do in this first step, which is to do a backup of your phone.
With Odin, you can install CWM Recovery, which should allow you do a nandroid backup to your phone's sd card. Once you have that backup and the added confidence it brings, you should then be able to use Odin to flash the EH03 stock ROM.
I'm thinking you may not even require the basics of what droidstyle's guide offers (root access, custom ROMs etc.) It sounds like you'd be happy on an unrooted gingerbread that works. I really wish you'd been able to find other Reliance users doing the same thing. That's my only hangup on this. Having said that, these are the basic steps I'm recommending:
Use Odin to flash the CWM recovery file you downloaded.
Boot the phone into recovery mode, just as droidstyle explains (three fingers).
Navigate to the option to make a backup, and let it finish.
Use options in CWM to wipe data, cache, and dalvik (this will wipe all apps/contacts/text messages from your phone, but it won't affect your sd card).
Power down the phone (you may have to reboot before you can do this).
Go back into download mode and use Odin to flash the stock EH03 ROM.
Reinstall whichever apps you want.
There are others in these forums far more knowledgeable, so perhaps they'll comment or confirm if we're lucky.
I've done a complete return to stock several times, even using the atlas repartioning file, and I've never lost my phone activation or mobile data. I don't have any reason to think you'll need to do anything else to keep your phone working.
Yup, flashing Touchwiz won't make you lose your 3g data. Just gingerbread MTDs. Even ice cream MTDs won't make you lose your 3g data on a none Verizon network. I don't really know why it's just gingerbread MTDs that does that, I just go with the flow.

Hi guys!
yesterday I finally made up my mind and decided to take the plunge. I backed up all my apps, contacts and messages. And just when I was through with all these, I just connected my phone to my laptop and connected using kies mini. To my surprise, I saw an update to my phone. Build EK10. I checked from the xda forum and rimweb and found it to be an official upgrade by reliance and samsung. So I followed the instructions and finally I'm on froyo now. It has unlocked quite a few options on my handset now.
Feeling better as for now but yes I'll definitely want myself on gb or ics soon..
Thank you all for the wonderful support that you guys extended to me.

Using CWM for flashing EH03 radio
Hi!
I was earlier on EH18 rom & now I am currently on geewiz 2.8 kernal & system (which was flashed using CWM red recovery) with EH18 radio. I have tried to Odin stock EH03 rom (md5 is correct) on my phone but could not go beyond modem.bin. I tried the same with FC27 rom too. Every time i try to odin i am getting stuck at modem.bin.
Has my handset been locked by my service provider from whom i have bought the handset ie Reliance (india)?
If yes, how do i unlock it safely without disturbing any other settings so that i do not lose my connectivity with them?
If no, what else could be wrong?
Can i flash EH03 baseband (radio) via CWM??
I need to do this as I'm not able to upgrade my handset to AKOP ICS roms which need my phone to be atleast on EH03 before starting.
Thanks in advance

going moto sbf 2.3.4 after a few problems - how?

hello
i have quite a big problem
and I'm in a stage which i need your help.
it goes like this:
i have atrix 4g and i tried cm7, cm9, neutrino and a few more roms
in all of them the device just shut off suddenly and it would turn on by a short press on the ON button or sometimes only if i would remove and restore the battery.
i have tried to flash dozen times , wipe dalvik cache full etc. no success.
i have decided to try and do something, because maybe the sbf (maybe the current one is broken , i dunno), or maybe if i would go stock rom - motorola blur - it would change.
so now when i want to downgrade from cm9 jokersax , to : Blur_Version_91.4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.US
how am i supposed to do it?
just full wipe from recovery, run this script via fastboot ,
and flash this blur version via recovery?
wont i risk hard brick? what should i notice?
thanks in advanced
Ariel
Are you using a US AT&T Atrix? That file is for that model. That's the first step. Then I'd just use rsd lite and flash it.
I'm using the Orange atrix version
If you SBF the US version you risk a hard brick. If you can get files onto your SD card, try putting a fruitcake of 91.4.5.141 on it, and install it through CWM after wiping system, data, cache and dalvik.
yes i can put files on my sd card
but what's fruitcake? what's it do? and where do i get this file?

International ROMs
All missing, please contact me if you have any of them.
I've searched the whole topic , there is no mention to orange fruit cake.
will the att fruitcake do good?
and what is fruitcake at all?

A fruitcake is the system partition of an SBF converted into a CWM flashable zip file. Whereas SBFs carry a high risk of bricking, a fruitcake is safe since worst case scenario you flash another rom.
Flashing an AT&T fruitcake onto an international phone or an international rom on an AT&T phone will work, but your ram will be cut in half unless you also flash a custom kernel. I recommend Faux123's kernels. Make sure you get one for Blur and not CM/AOSP.

I saw that too but I was hoping somewhere in that thread or the one samcripp referenced might have it or info on it. Maybe contact sam to see if he has it?
I've already pmed him. But I doubt that will be of any help this thread is from along time ago. Do you have any other idea how to solve that problem or get that file?
Try a new SIM card before you take risks, I hear that it helps.
I had the same issue and the store gave me a new Atrix.

Only thing I can think is to do a google search. Also sometimes people looking for specific sbf files can make a new thread titled "need *** sbf" someone almost always comes to help if its titled like that.
Also try the above post first. I had a no data/wifi problem and found my sim was in desperate need of replacing.

What, you think other sim would solve my crashing problems?

Its just a possibility and something to try before you flash.
