[GUIDE] Flash OLYEM 2.1.1 on ATT Atrix - Atrix 4G General

Just flashed france's version of froyo on my ATT US Atrix and I have to say that it much better compared to our stock ATT Froyo(OLYFR 1.8.3)
Prerequisites
AT&T Atrix 4G with and UNLOCKED bootloader
Windows OS x64/x86
Motorola drivers installed
Alright, download these two files(1, 2) and use hjsplit to merge them.
Once the .rar file is merged, go ahead and extract it to to the root of your C drive and then you should have a folder in there called moto-fastboot.
Now its time to start flashing. Follow the following steps, one at a time.
Firstly, put your device in Fastboot mode by holding the volume down button while booting then volume up
Open up a command prompt and type
cd C:\moto-fastboot
moto-fastboot flash boot boot.img
moto-fastboot flash system system.img
moto-fastboot flash webtop webtop.img
moto-fastboot flash preinstall preinstall.img
moto-fastboot -w
moto-fastboot reboot
If you followed the steps correctly you should have OLYEM 2.1.1 on your AT&T Atrix.
Cheers!

I pm'd you, hopefully it went through. Was wondering if it would be possible to use your methods to flash 1.8.3 on a Bell Atrix, and then unlock the bootloader from there.

Great news. I was always wanting to flash the AT&T Atrix with the UK France firmware, but thought and was told it would brick the phone because of the different bands.

Is it just flashing sbf file using rsdlite
or
Using moto-flashboot flashing the smg files?
Please post the guide
Edit (found the method in other thread):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15199499&postcount=11

Uploading files, will post guide once its done.

I tried almost everything (reflash At&t, flash elements one by one with reboot everytime)... nothing works... It will be a great thing to have your guide

What's so special about the France build?

Well optimized (less laggy), better battery, MMS working on french network, Azerty keyboard for my azerty laptopdock... no at&t bloatware

Just wondering, if it is possible for ATT to flash french SBF and Bell to flash french SBF then is it possible to flash ATT SBF and unlock the bootloader ???

I never said that I was flashing the SBF

Could you upload the image files (boot and system i believe) and post the link.

Yes the bootloader remains unlocked.

flashing now
another quick ques, keep root or am i going to have to re-root? (i realize by the time you respond i'll probably already have my answer)
flashed everything ok, but my data isn't working now. maybe I need to add the att apn?
edit - flashed back to 1.8.3 since i couldn't figure it out and no one seems to be paying attention to this, lol

Run this script then use gingerbreak to root(SD card must be inserted with USB debugging turned on).
Add apn using these settings.
Cheers!

lol reflashed back to 2.1.1, and just used gb without the prep and it went through fine.
good looks, i like this version of blur. looks better.
edit - this has been such a fun night of flashing that i've popped my sim card out and put it in my iphone 4 temp. those apn settings work, but here's the issue. i'm getting data speeds that are worse than vzw 3g. i'm normally around 4-6 mbs down/ 1 up where i am, and i was getting .4 and .4 up/down. also tried to add the manual one from android central for the samsung g s II, and that didn't work at all. until that gets figured out, i'm going to leave the sim card in my iphone

Cool, will prolly flash this, this weekend. Thanks for the guide!

Now I can't wait for the French GB Atrix build
This is great news since ATTA4G owners won't have to wait for ATT for update releases.

Dell Streak Froyo 2.2.2 Build 341 How To For All!

Screw 318, 319, 339 (rogers), 340 (att) 2.2 roms...
With many hours wasted trying everything, I have finally gotten 2.2.2 AWS version to load properly on my Unlocked US Red Streak preloaded with 2.2 315...
here are the steps from any version..
1. Use QDL tool to go to 305 baseband 00. Get from steakdroid.com
2. Use 309 boot loaded located here http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-streak-streak-modaco-com/323792/309-recovery-image/
3. Download and rename Package 322 from dell to Update.pkg to your sd card. Download here http://mobileupdate.dell.com/PackageProductionLocations/Streak_322_12947_11.pkg
3a. Reboot and hold both volume buttons and go to software upgrade. Upgrade to 322.
4. once loaded, go to this thread and follow directions and download the img files from Broken. Make sure to follow the MD5 guide in subsequent links to get the MD5 to work properly. (this is something good to learn either way )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970177
5. After copying the files in the right place on your sd card, reboot and with fastboot, load clockwork or streakmod recovery.. Streakmod folder is /sdcard/rom_backup/......
6. Go to nandroid and do a full restore, with streakmod you will get an error after system loads, don't worry, just reboot.
If all goes well you will be on baseband 11 (eu unlocked) and running build 341.
I can confirm with this baseband you do not have the flashing led lights like you have with baseband 318.
So glad I gave this one last try before giving up.
Methods to insanity that didn't work
-load 309 to 341 no dice
-load djsteve to 341 flashing leds
-load 318 to 341, flashing leds
- not to mention the hours wasted trying to get the nandroid restore to work with single files...
if you have any questions or problems, let me know. I will try and pop in once or twice a day...
Special thanks goes to..
Broken - for supplying the rom and trying to assist with help.
Themanii & homer4evr - for tips

Krad, thank you for this information. Looks like you are using your Streak in US w/ ATT.
Have you thought about using the ATT official froyo build baseband (34031) instead of the HK's baseband 322? It is too late where I am now, I will re-read the other thread you linked and try the 34031 (ATT) baseband... Will report back.
Alright it's like 3am. I have successfully installed 305 using the QDL tool wich took a bit because of the issues with win7 64bit. At this point I think I understand how to get back to 1.6, and/or move forward to the eu version of 341. Sucks there isn't just a straight download for the 341 US update zip/pkg.
Oh well, will finish sorting this tomorrow. Night folks, or morning
You do not need to go to 1.6
you start from 2.2 305 qdl tool...
From there you load the 309 bootloader via fastboot
and then simply the default way of going to 322 via software upgrade.

A very special person is updating the dell streak wiki and on it it displays all versions of OS's and more importantly basebands... 00 for unlock us 11 for eu unlock, 31 for att.. etc
I had baseband 318_00 loaded and when I went to load this OS I got the flashing Led lights.. Everything worked, but it was annoying. After speaking to a few from Optus Aus. It dawned on me that they must be on a different baseband. I checked 322, which is unlocked for 00.. but it actually loads 11 baseband. Once i fired it up it worked great.
My guess is that you need a specific baseband to run the rom without the flashing led lights. We know this is an unlocked rom, but specifically for EU basebands... With that being said I don't think loading US ATT baseband from 340 will work. But it it worth a shot.
I have been on baseband 322, and have had zero issues with reception, etc... others have pointed out there wifi has better speeds.
I will be testing out the wifi hot spot today and gps to see how they go and report back.
I liked 322 and have almost zero problem too. It is definitely fast w/ 322. The only problem I have with it was it wont auto connect to ATT wifi hotspot. I cant even manual connect to the ATT wifi hotspot which is supposed to be free for us ATT user.
I will try the 340 now and report back. If it doesnt work, I will use the 322

Do you have the notification drop down issue? that annoyed me.
Krad,
Question: Do you use nandroid to selective restore all 4 files or just restore the system.img only as suggest in the "Root AWS Dell Streak 2.2.2 FRG83G" thread?
Thanks!

Now that you mention it, YES... I do have that problem.
BTW, I am following this direction on Modaco to goto ATT 340 from any Froyo 2.2: http://android.modaco.com/content/d...3120/guide-from-any-official-2-2-to-2-2-at-t/
Which is so much faster and save me from having to downgrade to O2 2.1 -> O2 1.6 -> ATT 1.6 Then ATT 2.2.

Surely Dell will release a 34X for baseband 00 devices???
Just confirming, I did a full nandroid restore on Broken's file and once boot up, I got an error saying that I have a diff google acct already setup - [email protected]? I know I can reset that under acct setting but I just want to confirm that this is what I am suppose to get with Broken's nandroid restore.
Thanks.
From the initial report, I think I have that capacitive button flashing: I am on Baseband - GAUSB1A134031-US w/ OEM - GAUSB1A134100 and best of all ANDROID 2.2.2
Thank you guys!! Krad, Broken, Themanii and homer4evr
ps. Just saw a post on "Root AWS Dell Streak 2.2.2 FRG83G" by 3GBeyotch, Post #84 that looks to provide a shortcut from 322 to 341 using fastboot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970177&page=9
Krad, any chance you have the baseband (filename - amss.mbn) for Stock 322 handy? I think you can find it in the update.pkg.dec file after running the Dell Recovery to update 322.
Thanks.
So I don't need to go to 1.6 to get to the official US AT&T build with the correct baseband?
I have easily installed 340 and Streakdroid 1.8.1 via Streakmod and the images. Seems like it's strange that it's so hard to get back to 1.6 so I can get to US 341.
Take no offense but I really wish Dell had taken care of the US before the rest of the world was ever introduced to the Streak.
Yes I am an American pig-dog.

I am a little confused by your statement. This is what I know...
Stock 340 that you had is the Official US ATT froyo 2.2 and it has the correct baseband 340 for ATT along with it.
The 341 (only android 2.2.2 that I know for Dell Streak) is an unlocked version (someone mentioned that it may even be beta) and I believed is meant for T-Mobile from some posted info??
So, 341 is not the official US ATT froyo. Based on Krad's testing, I doubt you can even go from ATT official 1.6 to this 341...
Hope this make sense.
Looks like it is I who is confused.
I had the blinking lights with my version of 340. So did that mean it was the wrong baseband?
Yes I have a lot to learn about this here stuff.

Yes... the only baseband that worked for me without blinking lights was baseband 11.. which is "unlocked eu" baseband. 00 is "unlocked us".
I have been running this bad boy for about 24 hour and haven't made a dent in the battery. Been running rock solid with zero issues.
yes you must factory reset to get rid of broken's info. I believe he forgot to do that before he made his images.. but it is cool.. no worries....
tell me where to find the 322 baseband files and they are yours... I have not cleaned out my sd card or root... so the files should be there...
technically, if we can extract the 322 baseband.. you would just flash that with fastboot.. and then load the nandroid restore all and viola.. your duh duh done!
Krad, I got it already. 3GBeyotch extract that for me on the other 341 thread.
Just FYI, you can find it easily in the update.pkg.dec file <- usually show up after you did an update thru Dell Recovery in your root sd card.
BTW, are you able to use the online kitchen (http://uot.dakra.lt/) & framework-res.apk to cook the notification bar for 341?
Havent tried yet but i dont see why not. Maybe i make one tonight... i have some honeycomb graphics lying around from some captivate themes.

Boot Loader questions

Hey guys I recently bought an atrix off craigslist. It's the bell version and is running GreyBlur and is rooted. How do I tell if the bootloader is unlocked or not? I tried flashing clockwork mod through adb and it kept saying failed to flash, so I became suspicious that the bootloader is locked, ( I previously though that since im running a ROM, the bootloader must be unlocked) Correct me if im wrong, thanks

Only has to be rooted, not unlocked to run a P-ROM which is what you have with GreyBlur. It's not an actual ROM.
oh I see, so most likely the bootloader is locked because it fails when trying to flash clock work mod. Is it safe to unlock the bootloader when running a P-Rom ? I was reading the forums about people bricking their devices by ota updates and SBF files, or do those things only happen once your bootloader is unlocked? Thanks
You got everything mixed up...

If bootloader is unlocked you should see "Unlocked" at the upper left corner at boot screen (the first one, with dual core logo).
You couldn't flash clockwordmod because it's not officially supported, you should use the ones provided at the dev forum (either for the locked or the unlocked bootloader)

P-ROMs has nothing to do with unlocking. P-ROM is just a heavily modified version of an official motoblur ROM.
About the bricking... well, there is always a chance of bricking if you don't know what you are doing and don't read instructions carefully till you understand everything. But if you follow everything as stated, most likely you won't brick.
Cheers

ok guys
1) I unlocked my bootloader
2) Flashed Clockwork Mod
3) Placed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169409 on my sd card
4) tried to install zip using clockwork but it kept saying installation aborted
After that didnt work I tried using adb and moto-fastboot to flash the rom, it worked but now my phone is in boot loop. I tried deleting user data and tried reflashing the rom but still in bootloop. What is the next step I should do, I know i'm one wrong step away from a brick so I really want to be carefull.
Should I try flashing a different rom using moto fastboot? thanks

[Q] Going From Darkside back to STOCK T-Mobile

As the title suggests, i honestly have tried searching etc for my answers. But being a noob i cannot make sense of what to do.
Basically i have a t mobile UK atrix, i unlocked bootloader, flashed CWM and flashed Darksides ROM through the recovery.
I now want to go back to T- Mobile Stock completly were i can safely update officially without hard bricking my device . (if possible remow unlocked bootloader and CWM)
Please in desperate need of help
Once you unlock your bootloader, you can't lock it back -- there's a physical switch in your phone that gets broken once you issue the fastboot oem unlock command. However, you can get back to stock by installing the appropriate "fruit cake" for your phone. Once you have done that, the phone will be able to OTA update, if that's what you want to do. You can find those files in the dev section.
Thank You for your reply, will it also be able to update via motorola update software on pc ?
and do you have any recomendation for which fruit cake i shoudl install for a stock T-Mobile UK Atrix
i really cannot find the Fruit Cake i need to flash for a T-Mobile UK atrix ??? please help
Since Samcripp made the fruit-cake maker app, you could definitely request that someone make it for you. Please don't do that in the dev section, unless you want to get flamed lol.
Iv'e requested in the fruit maker thread, im currently on darkside 4.0 so would it really be so dangeroud to flash it via another method to a stock t mobile rom on 2.3.4? instead of fruitcake
Nope u can flash the 2.3.4 sbf. But nothing prior to that.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Like phalantx said you can flash sbf for t-mobile and you will get rid off unlocked in the top left corner. I know it would brick at&t mobile but tmob uk is safe.
edit//
YOU CAN FLASH 2.2.3 SBF even if you got 2.3.4 atm. I did and all worked great. I sent it back for warranty and they accepted ( broken digitizer). I didn't read phalanx post properly.
REMEMBER YOU DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I TAKE NO BLAME FOR BROKEN MOBILE. JUST SHARING MY EXPERIENCE.

Yeah I did a factory reset after sbf as well.

I may have read over the answer to my question already, but why are you going from DarkSide to stock?
and if it is to get the official update, why not just flash one of the new 2.3.6 roms or wait for an updated darkside?

As with most of these awesome STOCK firmware sbf's this will most likely brick your device if you don't know what your doing and have an already unlocked boot loader.
If your running locked tight boot loaders flash away, I'm ripping this sucker apart for the webtop that we lost in the fruitcake posts.

Granted but also flashing anything with a not unlocked Boot.img file or I belive it was the CG51.smg within the sbf will make you have to jump hoops to get it back up and running. Using fastboot and another pudding reflash.
Ive done this with the 2.3.4 sbf just for kicks due to me not having that burnt efuse its still a pinta using stock sbfs best thing to do is unpack then flash the correct CG's needed via fastboot, or unpack and repack the whole think. I couldn't break the repacking part on custom sbf's.

No but there is a tread about sbf's and fastboot linked in the pudding thread that has alot of good information on both subjects check it out you can how ever repack an 2.3.6 sbf with a 2.3.6 boot.img (from one of the roms out there converted to .smg ofcourse) and repack it that should work.
Another question - Does anyone have a FULL 2.3.4 sbf file that I can swap the 2.3.4 unlockable bootloader into? I've got a service 2.3.4 sbg - But i need a full one.... anyone? please?

Updating my samsung fascinate (sch I 500) to the latest gingerbread

Hi everyone!
I'm very new to all this but still I don't want to get stuck with an old OS. I currently have a samsung sch-i500 (same as verizon fascinate) which I bought from reliance in india. It's currently running the stock OS ie android 2.1 eclair. Now I want to update my phone to android 2.3. The mobile operater won't give any ota updates. Hence I will have to rely on updating via pc. Can someone help me out with the same.
Thanks in advance.

Is it a CDMA phone? You're still on Reliance in India, correct?
I would recommend you look at the beginner's guide/FAQ and do just a little bit of research. While that thread itself is no longer maintained, the original post links to two other threads. There is a thread written by Droidstyle, easily found, that will tell you everything you need to do to get to the latest version of Gingerbread or even all the way to ICS.
My only concern is that you may lose your 3g if you don't flash the correct ROM.
Hi jawman27,
Yes it's a cdma phone on the reliance india mobile network. I'll surely search for the threads that you have mentioned in your post. In the meanwhile, could you clarify what you meant by losing 3G connectivity. I'm getting 3.1 mbps speed through evdo. Will i not be able to use the evdo once I upgrade?

When flashing MTD Roms on a fascinate from a different carrier you could end up losing your 3g data but flashing back to touchwiz should bring it back. Avoid doing those update your prl stuff by dialing a code on your dialer. Your not on Verizon so it would make it worse it, you will lose your data permanently and you need to take back to your carrier to get back your data.

Does that mean i can never upgrade my phone unless the carrier decides to give an ota update?
As he mentioned, look for DROIDSTYLES guide
Its in GENERAL section, read thru it carefully and you will find what you need.

Lol, you could upgrade. Just saying don't do those update prl dial code. I think you would also need massaints 3g data zip if you lose 3g just by flashing an MTD rom to get data back.
Edit: I'll post link to massaints thread or put up the zip if you need it. I know the thread is here somewhere, its just got buried deep after ics came out . It was only needed during CM7 days

I found this thread where a lot of people on Reliance were fine using EH03 and the Superclean ROM.
http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/3...gets-first-official-gingerbread-leak-in-eh03/
Read the guide and go for it. EH03 was the latest version of Gingerbread sent out to Verizon customers. Superclean3 is a great custom ROM, definitely worth considering. Perhaps just do it on a day off, though. That way you have all day to fix it if something goes wrong. Good luck.
Thanks jawman27,
But theres one thing I noticed from that thread is that everyone is using a unlocked verizon fascinate and not the one provided by reliance. And I'm yet to find someone who's still on Eclair DL14
One more query, how do I take complete backup. (my phone is not rooted) and where would I find the MIN No

I see. Well, it shouldn't hurt anything to follow section 6 of droidstyle's guide and do a basic rooting of the phone. Once you have CWM installed, you will be able to make a nandroid backup of your phone that will save to your sd card.
Once you have your backup you could then go on to install eh03.
I can't imagine these simple steps would mess up your phone or wireless data, but these are all really just suppositions. You can't possibly be the first one on Reliance to experience this problem/desire. Can you find any forums back home with people who have accomplished this? If not, and you are truly the trailblazer, we should certainly document what happens.
I'm not sure about the MIN number. Any ideas, folks?
Hi!
I have downloaded all the files required for basic rooting of my phone as mentioned in droidstyle's guide section 6.But on reading it carefully i noticed that the rooting process & files are for rooting froyo (I am still on eclair version)? Will this effect the procedure in any way? Or just by doing this rooting will i be upgraded to froyo?
Also, after the rooting procedure is done, will i have to do any settings for connecting to my service provider for voice & data? or does it remain untouched?
Sorry for being so noobish but pls understand that this is the very first attempt at modding my phone..
I'm glad you're reading so closely. I've never actually done this exact process myself, so perhaps others will comment, but I believe that you won't even need to install the Superuser zip to accomplish what you want to do in this first step, which is to do a backup of your phone.
With Odin, you can install CWM Recovery, which should allow you do a nandroid backup to your phone's sd card. Once you have that backup and the added confidence it brings, you should then be able to use Odin to flash the EH03 stock ROM.
I'm thinking you may not even require the basics of what droidstyle's guide offers (root access, custom ROMs etc.) It sounds like you'd be happy on an unrooted gingerbread that works. I really wish you'd been able to find other Reliance users doing the same thing. That's my only hangup on this. Having said that, these are the basic steps I'm recommending:
Use Odin to flash the CWM recovery file you downloaded.
Boot the phone into recovery mode, just as droidstyle explains (three fingers).
Navigate to the option to make a backup, and let it finish.
Use options in CWM to wipe data, cache, and dalvik (this will wipe all apps/contacts/text messages from your phone, but it won't affect your sd card).
Power down the phone (you may have to reboot before you can do this).
Go back into download mode and use Odin to flash the stock EH03 ROM.
Reinstall whichever apps you want.
There are others in these forums far more knowledgeable, so perhaps they'll comment or confirm if we're lucky.
I've done a complete return to stock several times, even using the atlas repartioning file, and I've never lost my phone activation or mobile data. I don't have any reason to think you'll need to do anything else to keep your phone working.
Yup, flashing Touchwiz won't make you lose your 3g data. Just gingerbread MTDs. Even ice cream MTDs won't make you lose your 3g data on a none Verizon network. I don't really know why it's just gingerbread MTDs that does that, I just go with the flow.

Hi guys!
yesterday I finally made up my mind and decided to take the plunge. I backed up all my apps, contacts and messages. And just when I was through with all these, I just connected my phone to my laptop and connected using kies mini. To my surprise, I saw an update to my phone. Build EK10. I checked from the xda forum and rimweb and found it to be an official upgrade by reliance and samsung. So I followed the instructions and finally I'm on froyo now. It has unlocked quite a few options on my handset now.
Feeling better as for now but yes I'll definitely want myself on gb or ics soon..
Thank you all for the wonderful support that you guys extended to me.

Using CWM for flashing EH03 radio
Hi!
I was earlier on EH18 rom & now I am currently on geewiz 2.8 kernal & system (which was flashed using CWM red recovery) with EH18 radio. I have tried to Odin stock EH03 rom (md5 is correct) on my phone but could not go beyond modem.bin. I tried the same with FC27 rom too. Every time i try to odin i am getting stuck at modem.bin.
Has my handset been locked by my service provider from whom i have bought the handset ie Reliance (india)?
If yes, how do i unlock it safely without disturbing any other settings so that i do not lose my connectivity with them?
If no, what else could be wrong?
Can i flash EH03 baseband (radio) via CWM??
I need to do this as I'm not able to upgrade my handset to AKOP ICS roms which need my phone to be atleast on EH03 before starting.
Thanks in advance
