I don't think it matters anymore as it may be controlled on the tower end now... but... ##data# from the phone app gets you to the "hidden menu" and then I think its in advanced. You will need your msl, which you can get using connectbot and the typing getprop in the terminal. Its the 6 digit #.

Or you can just edit the SCI directly from the phone.

Why an I getting the +1 in front of my #s

I recently received my replacement MT4G after a pool accident. I reflashed and reooted S=off, new radio, the whole 9 yeards just like my previous one. I reflashed the copy of my backup that I had made prior. Everything runs great except all the number I received in SMS or calls are now showing up with a +1 in front of them so they are not matching any of my contacts. I have not made any changes to the phone.
I even went into the settings and check not to use that country code but it still is showing up. Anyone have any ideas?
Checking not to use it just means YOU don't have to do it. The phone always uses them. I don't get how yo haven't noticed that all phones have like always done that

They are not all like that. My last MT4G phone did not do this. So ther has to be some setting or something that I am missing.
i think that happened on one number of mine at some point in crack flashing, i know i quick dialed the contact (send/end), but i can't remember if it fixed it or not. worth a try i guess.

Thanks. I think I fixed it. It was in the settings under the country code option. Thing is that when you select dont use it, you also have to click the dont ask me again button and it keeps it that way. I guesss that is what I didnt know.
Care to show us where the setting is?? Didn't see it under my phone setting...

He's talking about lack of signal. It depends on your location and distance from cell towers.
