I searched for 'tethering' and 'tether' but didn't find it here.
Tethering allows you to use your phone as a router to access data services from laptops and other similar devices. While the speeds may not be close to broadband, with maximum connectivity with 3G webpages load quite fast.

I found it on an android site. (I don't know if I am allowed to link to it from here).

Android ?! Moto - HTC ?
If its a free open source app and not a paid app from the market your fine run a search though for wireless tether for root users and go to the google.code and you can get the WiFi tether app

If you have root, then yes, Wireless Tether for Root Users solves that and doesn't get you charged by your carrier
I've used it extensively on Sprint, as long as you're not tethering to a lot of deivces, you're good

This may not be the easiest option, but I'd switch to eViL's Desire HD port. It uses a newer version of Sense, and no one has reported any MMS issues. I've been using it for a couple months with no issues at all.
thank you for the help and one more question a sorry to bother but do you have any link for that rom?
It's in my sig, but yeah here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878320
You only need the main download. The other downloads are outdated and unnecessary.
I need a few sprint ns4g users to test this and see if mms works
its a full rom so you must wipe before flashing

feedback would best be tweeted to me @jface21
thank you
Can you post a little more about it. Screen shots and what it comes with, who made it, what is the kernel?

OP, this is an HSPA+ phone. If you can get 3G, you can get 4G (H). The icon just isn't in framework-res.apk. Most likely, the phone it was ported from was a 3G only phone. Hence, no icon.
Ordered my Nexus 4 on the 13th. Still waiting.

Right you are, you get the speed just not the icon. Sorry about that
So you can help me change the framework in this Rom so I can get the 4g speed in it. That's my only flaw in this Rom

Jesus Christ, the ROM maintainer just said the speed is the same. Also, no. You would obviously screw it up as it requires reading and you're obviously not willing to do that.

App for Google Calendar and Sync Fail
First of all, great ROM!! Excellent. My only concern is that I can't get access to my google calendar. If the Fliq calendar can do it, I can't find the setup other than buying the missing sync software, which I'd rather not do. I've tried multiple apps from the play store and even pulled the calendar.apk from CM7. No joy. Also, the calendar sync fails with a sync error. I've tried reinstalling the ROM after a full wipe and hard resets, no luck. I can't find anything here or online that seems to address this, but I figure I'm missing something simple. Any help. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Never mind. I found that if I put the file in for the Joy Calendar sync, everything worked fine. My wife loves the ROM. Thanks again.
Also Rom gaap doesn't work whenever try to download something. Have to use Blackmarket. Really love someone to continue working on it could be the next good Rom out there.... Just saying

I've flashed several ROMs and Google Voice doesn't work on any.
Root isn't the issue.
It works on Rooted factory ROM
Has anyone found a workaround.....
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks

you might want to post this in the q&a section, this is the original development section. unless you are developing something, this thread has no place here.
You're unable to make calls?
Maybe its an APN issue?
Not sure why it's not working for you. I am on PA and GV works for me. Is there a specific feature that's not working or just gv all together?
Thanks for responses .....
Sorry for posting in wrong section, I don't create a lot of threads as you can see
Currently on Muzzy, tried xylon and madaco ....
GV would not call out
The issue is calling out...
It tries but fails

For the life of me, I can't get it to call out on Custom ROMs.
Currently on : BlackBean
Kernel : Franco r53
Recovery : TWRP 2.3.3.2
Can someone send a snapshot of their T-Mo APN settings or whatever you think I'm missing.
Thanks again ....

Working fine on CM10 here with T-Mobile using whatever APN was already configured...

Do you happen to be on a T-Mo prepay plan? IIRC Google Voice doesn't work in prepay plans.

Got it working
Disconnected my device from GV on line, uninstalled app, made GV verify device with call & code, installed app & sync'd.
Working like it should.....
I'm currently on :
Rom: Xylon latest stable
Kernel: Franco r53
Thanks for your help everyone
Hopefully, this can help someone else
