Need help!! - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I purchased a nexus 4 16gig on 27th Nov & the estimated shipping time was 4-5 weeks.
I wanted to ship it to my cousin who is at LA & was yet to come to India on dec 18th. My plan was to send the phone to his address so that I can have the phone at an earliest date. But due to huge shipping time estimates, I thought it wouldn't be possible for him to get the phone before 18th & I gave an address of my friend who stays in Valparaiso,IN and he is also coming to India in mid of January.
To my surprise today, moments ago I received a confirmation email saying that my order has been shipped. And I have an option called as "Change Delivery address"...I am new to XDA forum & this is my first post, so please excuse me if I have done any mistake. I just wanted to ask you guys,...whether is it okay to change the address now..? Will it screw the process?? It is just that, I can have my phone a little early. Or else I need to wait until mid of January.

Call Google Play and ask them directly.... or check your UPS tracking # and see if you can change it.
If you just got the email now the device has likely not let the Google facility yet (usually picked up by UPS each night). So you might have time to change it... BUT... you could also risk the device ending up in "limbo" meaning who knows what'll happen!
You can always ship to me instead... I promise, I won't keep it.

Anyone Pre-Order from Rogers?

Just a question for all of those people who pre-ordered online at Rogers.com. When you finish pre-ordering, you should have gotten a confirmation email. Did you get any other emails like a shipping with a tracking number?
I got the confirmation email and that's it. I was just wondering if others is the same as me.

Yeah I preordered on april 6. Got a confirmation number in an email right away. I called today and so far no tracking numbers are available. I am waiting till dinner time and Im going to try again. I just want this phone so bad
How did you order it? Every time I try to port my number from Fido it gives me an error. Rogers gives me some BS on the phone and I give up. I think they are goign to show up in the stores on Friday but noone knows. Total bloody incompetence with Rogers once again.

Im adding a line instead of porting over (and keeping the second line to shorten the time between upgrades) but a rep told me you could preorder now and finish up the port after you get the phone. BUT beware Rogers reps are full of bs and you will get different answers everytime you call.

It just bothers me that there is a possibility of getting the phone AFTER it launches (April 15, 2010). If so, then what's the point of me pre-ordering other than getting the bt headset for free.

What?? If I get it after the 15th I am going to s**t bricks. And people are dissappointed with SE's delays. Its seems like a match made in heaven SE and Rogers lol.
PS: did you see the fine print? Your going to have to wait an additional 2-4 weeks for delivery of the headset.

Yea well HOPEFULLY we all get it ON or BEFORE the 15th. Anyday after that would be stupid. The Rogers stores will probably have it on the 15th since I read some article stating that the phone is shipping to stores. If that's the case, that means even though we preordered, we won't be the first ones to get it =(

I talked to a store today in Calgary here that had a rep in at the time and they said the phones were in shipment right now to the stores for Friday (as stated before). I would rather order it online for the headset but am worried about a delay. You would think you would get it SOONER that way, especially considering they said order it by the 9th for delivery on the 12th LOL. Oh Rogers.
I talked to one of the rep at rogers and they told me they are getting it next month O_O

But yea.. I guess the idea of pre-ordering is so that you WILL get it on launch day at least.

Haha, this is good ... for me at least ... i'll have time to decide if is worth to pay 550 + tax to get it.
So I just spoke with a supervisor and he said that he promised me it would be in my hands by this friday. I asked him why I would preorder just so I could get it after everyone else. He responded that for preordering we are getting a $10 activation credit and the headset for free and locking in a "supposedly" better price. And they also said I would get emailed a tracking number as soon as its available. Got my fingers crossed it comes this week!

Anyone receive their Atrix yet?

I got a call from At&T about a problem porting my number from Verizon (yes I am making the switch back). I mentioned they could not port yet as I don't have a phone because it is on pre-order. Cust Service said that I would be receiving it in a couple of days. I got the call yesterday so i am hoping to have my shiny new Atrix tomorrow or the next day.
Could be Cust Service has no idea what they are talking about but you can only hope
If that is the case I might pre order through att instead of best buy then...

Hello everyone. I'm new to this section of XDA - I've had a Captivate for some time (4 of them actually) and have been quite dissapointed at times with it. Overall a great phone, but lots of un-necessary issues (imo) I just pre-ordered the Atrix 4G today and was told I could recieve it within the next 7-10 days at the soonest... I really cant wait to see what the devs here on XDA will cook up for this killer phone (based on specs). If the dev support is anything at all like it is for the Captivate - this is gonna be a great ride with the Atrix 4G
I am hoping we get alot of captivate devs to switch. I know there is a good chance that the bootloader will be encrypted, and that might keep the ROM chefs away, but I really hope we find away around it. i am going to be submitting as much of my capabilities to the effort, but I am new to android. I have done a small amount of program development on iOS with jailbreaks. so hopefully I can help.
Also, as I have said before, Devs are the lifeblood of these phones, and I am willing to put my money out there as a substitute for my experience. I am willing to help any motivated devs by donating $20-$40. Hopefully we can get a rich community surrounding the phone. that way when i am still using it 18 months down the road, I will still be happy with it.
I didn't get that email at all and I preordered on Sunday morning when the preorder option first popped up. I did get my confirmation email right after preordering and another email today ( 17th) , but not the one you have. Am I still going to get my atrix on the 22nd? Or did something get messed up?

I freaking hope so...it's my birthday! lol
I just received shipped email and it is showing delivery by 3pm on 2/21.
When I did the checkout on the AT&T site it told me it's scheduled to be delivered on or before March 6th... if people are getting them as early as the 21 or 22 I sure as hell hope mine arrives around that time as well.

I'd be seriously pissed if FedEx left it on the porch without signature and it got stolen after waiting for this phone. Good thing it's a holiday and I'm working from home all day!
I opted to have mine shipped to the att store - just incase i wouldnt be home when FedEx showed up. This way i dont have to worry about it being left on the front step and sitting there

You know, I was looking for that option and didn't see anything about it. Where was this option during online pre-ordering to have it shipped to a specific store? Maybe next time I pre-order I'll be able to do this.

I didn't see it either. But most likely, you could simply call after placing the order, and have the CSR make the change for you.

Not so Good News for Us

Per my chat this morning:
GeraldC: I have checked on the order details and I can see that yes, your current order is being back ordered. Due to the high demand of the device our inventory isn't able to suffice all order from activations and upgrades. The estimated delivery date is 6 weeks from the date the order was made.

Hope your right. I went to my local t mobile store on Saturday and the rep told me that my note 4 should be delivered on the 16th or 17th. He said he was pretty confident of that. Sidenote.. on my order status page under order history it does say backorder where it use to say pending shipping.....hopefully that's because it is not available yet.
I order mine by 9:06 am that day.
I doubt not many people would want a phone this big + its not an apple.

Mine doesn't say backordered, but it really doesn't matter. Their whole system is messed up.
I preordered mine Sept. 27th. Then on Oct. 3rd my status went to being processed and on back order. That's when I did an online chat and I posted the results in the OP. This is for the Note 4.

Stores get them sometimes a full week before release dates. Sometimes they even do a "soft release" when they have it in stock but not on display. You have to know they have it in stock and request it though and there is no way to know that unless a rep tells you or you are in there asking every day.
I got my vibrant (sgs1) this way.... was in store looking to upgrade from my G1 to a g2... saw someone looking at a vibrant right next to me playing Avatar on it n I was like.. "ummmmmm, what phone is that?" Told it was a vibrant, not officially on sale till the next week but I could get it now if I requested it by name cause they had them in stock and were doing a "soft release".
nice thats next friday. hopefully they dont sell out.
same thing happened last year which is why I just go to the store...usually a small line, but you will get one (this is not the iphone)

Yea, I don't think I'm going to pre-order again in the future, this whole process does seem messy.
For my situation, I have a 4 Year Anniversary so I decided I'd get us a pair of Note 4s. I called the rep and one I was just going to order on my account and the other I was just paying outright for it. Well the rep couldn't process them both at the same time because it triggered some fraud warning. (Oh I was also ordering one of the WiFi calling routers). So after a bit of a hold she came back and said she would have to separate each item and buy them on separate days.
So that day I got the Black one ordered, the next day she called back and got the white one ordered, and finally the 3rd day she called back to order to the WiFi calling router. At that point everything looked great, all orders pending, I was a happy camper (though still wasn't liking the fact that it appears I would get it a couple days after release due to shipping, which after reading the posts here seems like that might be debatable and they might actually arrive early).
Well fast forward a couple days, I was checking the orders cause I'm crazy and impulsive like that and just noticed an update. On my Black N4 and Router they both say 'Pending' still. My White N4 however is now saying backorder! Having a bit of a freakout cause its an anniversary present and timing is critical. And to make matters worse, everyone I seem to talk to says something a bit different and so I've come to the conclusion that nobody really knows. Some say 'Oh our system just says that, but there will be plenty available' or 'I'm sure it will still be sent on time because we haven't had that many orders come in' to 'Oh, yes there has been a very high demand, maybe you can give the one that does make it and yours will just have to wait' or 'The system had a minor glitch and has now been corrected, because of this we now have an update on our stock and thus many orders have been changed accordingly'.
Sooooo yea. Here is keeping my fingers crossed, but just wanted to share that on my account I have two order and one says Pending and the other says Backorder.
Edit: Just to let you know this order process was on 9/24 (black one), 9/25 (white one), 9/26 (router).

T-Mobile Order Tracking

There are a bunch of us who ordered 64GB Nexus 6s early on 11/19 (or late on 11/18), who still don't have their orders, despite many others who already have their orders who ordered AFTER us. T-Mobile doesn't seem to think there's a problem with this, can't tell us anything about when we could possibly see our orders, and has more or less told us that they won't do anything because there's no evidence that their system screwed up. To that end, we've started tracking 64GB Nexus 6 orders in a spreadsheet, here. We're hoping, that by collecting this data, we can show them that we know we're being screwed over, and that they need to get straightened out.
If you, or a loved one ordered a 64GB Nexus 6 on or around the morning of 11/19, please feel free to add your information to the spreadsheet. Also, if you happen to have ordered after about 10AM PST on 11/19 we'd really like to have your information, especially.
In case anyone missed it @askdes gave quite a response last night. He did make one very good point. What we are doing here is helping to make everyone that ordered a 64gb Nexus 6 feel that they are entitled to receiving their phone in a timely manner. Please remember that the issue here is that people that ordered during the early launch time frame may have been missed somehow while others that placed orders later are receiving their phones. We should all know by now (or at least have an idea) that Google/Motorola are having some kind of manufacturing issue. The only reason we are upset with T-mobile is that they have not been forthcoming with accurate information as to why some people were "accidentally" skipped over. That is it.
@casbar no one has been intentionally skipped. I have enlisted a great deal of people to make sure any errors are found & fixed it takes great deal of time and effort. Days not hours, and the manufacturer has not helped. I am trying to not throw anyone under the bus here. The problem is now there are people who ordered much later and think they are entitled to deliveries earlier and that is not the case and it makes it more difficult to help the people who may have had a legitimate issue but we will help every customer because that is what we do! - Des

I do believe that T-Mobile is attempting to correct any errors on their part. We should be as patient as possible and collect any information that will help us build an understanding of what may have happened if for nothing else to help T-Mobile resolve this situation.

if tmobile establishes an order of responding then the company is intentionally skipping over certain customers by design, albiet it is a temporary skip since at some point in the scheme they will be filled. so, in my opinion des is still perpetuating a huge lie. the way tmobile can come clean is to just fill the orders as they were placed.
Added my info. At least I got 50$ credit for cyber Monday. I implore everyone who has not already done so to call and get credited if you ordered before Monday.
whats funny is that i ordered mine for next day delivery, and the delivery information only showed up for me 24 hours after i received it.

32gb is enough for me. i keep all my music in the cloud, movies ill delete. mostly roms and other things to flash is what my storage is used for(nandroid backups too).

Same here, I guess we were both in the same shoes. I ordered on the first day (Wednesday) and received it the following day.
Although for me I keep my music on local storage and still have space to work with. I take the train so music in the cloud isn't good for me.
Don't throw anyone on the bus? Really... If I have to go on the interwebs and find out this information on a forum when neither T-mobile rep on call or webchat have any clue and deny everything and the sytem says absolutely nothing, they are more than complicit and not truly "fixing" anything wholeheartedly or taking responsibility for their mistake.

well after reading almost 10,000 post in both "Nexus 6 Waiting Room" and "T-Mobile receiving limited stock" I think we people who ordered 11/19 from T-MOBILE or there abouts, then put on backorder to 11/25, are getting lost in the orders from GPS and MOTO.
I have neither received on read about anybody have any info on these orders. Does any info

I ordered on the 20th..backorder 21st...in same boat with no estimates..tried executive CSR, store CSR, and website with no luck.

I put out a Twitter (twit, tweet, twiddle?) today for T-Mobile sort of publicly asking for any sort of shipping status. They immediately got back to me and asked me to direct message them but then was promptly asked the same questions on my order that the phone and chat reps have asked me all the time about my order.
As far as I know I'm still on backorder from 11/25 (ordered the 19th) and nobody has any idea when I'll get this phone.
I'm patient and don't care if I receive it in February, I just want to know if I'm going to be receiving it and when. Especially with holidays and travelling coming up I don't want to risk having the thing sit on my doorstep for days/weeks while I'm gone. Just any little drop of info would be awesome.
So we know that at a minimum Google, Motorola and T-Mobile are having issues with managing orders for this phone.
Either hundreds of thousands are ordering or this is the "demon core" of smart phones.

Just got the system generated message from TMO that my order will be delayed until (between) 1/9/14 and 1/23/14... and that is anything changes, I will know because it will ship... (duh) I'm lucky that I got a 32GB and at this point really don't need the 64GB but its just a matter of principle now..

DIRECT ORDER FROM HUAWEI issues or nah?

How is your experience with HUAWEI? similar to mine , any issues?

ok..so I ordered my phone through huawei(10/5/2015). I used the financing company through their website called Affirm.
I received all the confirmation emails from both huawei and affirm about my order and registration with Huawei.
here is where the "Fun" comes in:
I tried to login to the Huawei website this morning 10/6 to see if the status was updated(I have no patience)
and ...My account does not exist!!! so after chatting with a representative online they cannot find any of my information, no account registered, nothing!! However I can log onto the Affirm account and see when my payments are due!!! I have emails and phone calls back and forth from them they still have not resolved. Really sucks!
as of 10/8 I have received what looks to be a generic email saying that states I will get my phone??

My experience while a little different, is still very similar to yours. I ordered on 9/30 and subsequently received a confirmation email with receipt. The next day, Huawei did debit my credit card.
But, when I login to my Huawei account, it shows nothing in "my orders". I emailed their customer service about this on 10/4 and received an automatic response with a ticket number, but have heard nothing back.
I'd have to say that this really isn't a big deal. We'll see how they do when it's time to start shipping product.
But I would have to say that their customer support is less than stellar, so far.
@cam30era they have emailed me to basically tell me the same thing that the generic email says.
I am going to just wait it out and see if i get it. However they did say that shipments are delayed but could not tell me when.

I don't see the benefit of ordering direct from them unless you don't want the play store money, don't want the insurance, possible tax free, and want a less reliable information service as far as shipping.
The only benefit to me would be tax free, but I wanted the insurance and easier RMA process.

Yup, you identified all the reasons. 7% better in my pocket.
I ordered using affirm also. So far for me though all has been smooth. I'm able to log into the huawei website and see my order just fine

I am very careful with my phones(*knocks on wood) .. and cant shell out $600 at the moment. so i chose to do the financing. as far as shipping and reliability of huawei .. it is questionable at the moment.. hopefully they make good on it.
I ordered from them on the 5th as well and all has been good so far. I ordered from affirm as well and everything seems to be good. Order shows as processing in my orders and the affirm charge went through..now I wait...

I just got off a "chat" with Huawei. They basically reconfirmed the same information. The first orders will ship in early November.
I ordered the day after release and on the site it said shipping late october and then was switched to early november a few days later. I also spoke with a chat representative and asked how the google store orders and direct orders shipping times would differ and was told that they will actually both ship at the same time as the schedules would be the same but asked if they came from the same stock and was told that there would be seperate stocks? Not sure how it will all work out but I am really hoping that the chat representatives were just told early november but will actually ship earlier.
I'd say it is very likely the chat rep doesn't know a damn thing about shipping schedules or if Google pulls from the same stock or not. I wouldn't be surprised if these things don't ship until november or if they ship a week or two early. I doubt any first line CS Rep has a damn clue other than possibly some generic date and would be the very last person to get an updated date or information.
i guess we will compare with others once people start getting tracking #'s or receiving their devices! If any of you get updates please post!:highfive:

I also ordered through Huawei, but I did not use Affirm. I'm able to sign in and see my order no problem.
I orderd through them to save the near $50 on Massachusetts tax, I orderd the Thursday and the money was taken out yesterday. So far so good for me no issues as of today.
now that Google is out of stock of 64gb 6p , i am trying to order from gethuawei.. but i have a issue, when i press the order button. does not complete my order.. message pops up to call huawei.. i call the # customer support says the website has problems to try and order again later..
has anyone place a successful order today??
