opening avi or wmi format files causes the o2 exec to hang

hi all,
i have been reading the posts here and so far it has been helpful.
need some of your brains here.
i tried to rip one of my dvd and tried to convert it using dvd catalyst.
i even installed the windows media encoder that is required to convert the avi to wmi format.
i did tried to test this by ripping just one chapter on the dvd and copy the resulting avi or the wmi to my pda.
but whenever i tried to open the avi file using tcmp or the wmi file using windows media my o2 exec hangs and i need to push the reset button in order to unfreeze the phone.
do you think there is something wrong with my phone or is it the dvd catalyst corrupting the avi or the windows media encoder corrupting the wmi file.
do you recommend any dvd decrypter settings for me to get the correct avi format?
i installed the tcmp in my sd card and i have 2g sd card.

not too sure but try putting tcpmp in ur phone instead of the sd card...best of luck

i think i found the problem. the hanging is caused by my sd card. it seems that there is a sector in the sd card that is faulty.

Transformers ql cant find movies

I deleted and replaced the transformers movies on my hd2 along with the TF link to launcg the movies. However now when I click the TF link it says it cannot find the movies. I can see the movies on my SD card via file explorer. How can I modify the link to locate the movies?

Are the Transformer movies in a folder named Transformers? Also is that folder on the root of the memory card and not located inside of other folders?
I had the same problem when I installed a new memory card. I put the Transformers folder inside of my Videos folder and the launcher couldn't locate the video files.

Problem with Copying Video Files

I have a whole bunch of avi movie files. When I try to copy them to the gtab it says file not supported.
I select copy anyway since mobo should play anything.
Still wont let me copy them. A bit annoying. What is going on here?

How do you copy your files, not with Kies right?

If they are over 4gb your tab won't copy them over - known limitation.

[Q] Can't copy big file from USB to extSD or PC to SD

Hi!
I'm trying to copy movie file (2GB) from USB stick to my Acer Iconia A500 using ES File Explorer. Copying starts but progress bar doesn't move and in a minute I get message "copying failed".
I tried:
USB stick (NTFS) to extSD
USB stick (NTFS) to SD
PC (NTFS) to extSD (via Wireless)
PC (NTFS) to SD (via Wireless)
USB stick (FAT32) to extSD
USB stick (FAT32) to SD
Then I tried HD File Manager and it copied my file in a minute!
What I'm doing wrong? Are there any special settings?
My Iconia is stock HC 3.2

Try "File Manager HD" by Rhythm Software.

as I said I did try HD File Manager and it worked.
But I read that ES File Explorer is preferred choice for a lot of guys so I'd really like to know why I can't use it for copying files.
But I must admit I start liking HD File Manager

Is the only one that works reliably. I even paid for it.

Does File Manager HD support sFTP? It's the only reason I've stuck with ES File Explorer. I love the DLNA access, sFTP/FTPS support, Drop Box support etc.

No, only LAN Networked devices. But you can keep both . I use Root Explorer and File Manager HD.

The only one I need is File Manager HD. I use Wifi File Explorere Pro to move data to it across wifi.

Galaxy S4 mp3 issues

Hey guys,
I just bought a new Galaxy S4 I9500 [Baseband Version - I9500JKUAMD9 Build Number - JDQ39.I9500XXUAMDE] + SanDisk 64gb microSD card.
I have a really strange issue with my music files, they are not recognized by the stock music player or any other player except VLC.
The mp3 files are on my external memory, folder 'music'.
The strange thing is that the players recognize only 10 out of 1700 songs, BUT when I'm browsing with ES browser to the mp3 files and renaming them, the music players recognize the renamed mp3s.
I've tried transferring the files by just copying them to the sd card and by using Kies, the same problem.
Can anyone tell me why do the music player recognize the songs only after renaming them?

Sounds more like a problem with the naming of the songs. Do a batch rename maybe.

I'm not sure but deleting them all and copying again might help. also you can try an app named "scan media" for recognizing media files.

I've tried everything, also deleting and copying them and all kinds off media scanners =[
Nothing works but renaming the files with ES File Explorer...

I'm having the same issue.
EDIT: I found a fix! Go to root of ext card. Make folder named Media. Drop your music and picture folders in that folder. Should now be seen in the players.
