Is 3G nexus a poor choice for custom ROMs? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

About to buy a new nexus but my main concern is that if I get the 3G version of the nexus there will be very few custom ROMs available when compared to the WiFi version?
Can anyone confirm what the range of custom ROMs available is for the 3G version please?
Cheers
John

Not possible. The two versions of the N1 have different radio hardware.
BTW, the wiki is your friend...

Wifi+3g roms?

Roms such as the prime rom that is in the normal section of android development. Are you able to flash these roms on just the basic non 3g n7's cause I like what they offer just not sure. I don't think anyone has specified.

Most devs will say wither their version is for WiFi or 3g. If you have WiFi (Grouper) just check the download links should specify which they are for.
I'm using PRIME on my standard WiFi N7 right now.

Ubuntu for Gs4

Hi! Im a noob and I dont mean to spam or anything like that but does anyone know if there is or if there will be unbuntu for the tmobile Gs4.Is it possible that there might be a zipfile that you could just flash ubuntu through recovery onto the Gs4. Thanks in advance.

Once there is a AOSP (or, more widely, primary used by Ubuntu, CyanogenMod) ROM/source code, your good to go to port it yourself, easily.

Do you live in the U.S.

Yes I live in the u.s. I cant port it Im not a dev..

It's not too hard to port, with some googling and help from the community it should be possible.
If you live in the U.S. you have to think about CDMA and your phone carrier would have to do that. You could port it but it would be a waste of time.

Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 just got staple for the S4. I would be interested in having Ubuntu Touch on my S4 (international lte, jfltexx).
Lets see if I can do this even though I have never use C++ or done anything else on a OS.

It being unlocked has no reference to running it on AT&T.

Installing non 3G Roms on the 3G model

Hello, looking into rooting my Nexus 7 3G and installing a custom Rom. Loving look of RootBox but I have a 3G model. Any way to add GSM support?
Will it even boot a non 3G Rom?
Thanks

It will boot, but you will not be able to have 3g.
