Here is a quick rundown on the LCD quality. I am busy so it may be a few days before I can post more.
The LCD is better than the G-tablet's screen. The Adam does not give me a headache like the gtab did. The viewing angles are still shallow, and in portrait mode you must still tilt the screen to one side. Its perfectly usable, it may not be up there with more costly tablets, but for the price, it is one of the better screens.
Build quality seems pretty solid. Unfortunately, I think the rush to get these things built is causing some issues. I had a lot of dust under the touch screen. So much that it was distracting. I had to take apart the device to get it out... and it wasn't easy. It is a major pain in the ***. That doesn't include the pain to get it apart in the first place. My advice, don't... just don't. After a lot of work, frustration, and two cans of air I did manage to get most of the dust out though.
The software is a little buggy. Nothing major, just random lag, odd behavior, and usability issues that popped up here and there. More annoying than anything. The touchscreen does not want to behave sometimes, and that is the most annoying bit. I put a custom ROM on it, one that is not stock based, and it works much better. Everything is smooth and well behaved.
All this waiting and anticipation, and in the end, I'm over the tablet thing. Nothing on the Adam, its a perfectly capable and fine tablet. It is a modders dream, much like the gtab was, but with official company devs willing to get active in the rooting community. (as evident from one of the custom ROMs created by a Notion Ink dev)
I will continue using it for the weekend, but I may end up selling it. I think I will be better served by a new laptop. One that is a bit more portable than this 17 inch behemoth I have now. I still have my GF's Archos 70 to mess around with in the mean time.
In conclusion, good hardware, passable screen, software needs refined a bit more, and lots of potential.
please do. I am looking forward to seeing how the cheap version performs.

Please do. I am interested in the LCD version too.
damn i thought this was a review of the LCD model like i'm getting. it seems everyone has gotten the qi
Very curious about the lcd, as it seems pqi has disappointed thus far.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
well considering that all the pixel qi models were gone first in ordering. Id bet that next to no one in the first batch of deliveries got an lcd model. or maybe the lcd just doesnt have problems like the pixel qi and the owner are to busy playing with their awsome tablet. My lcd wifi model ships the 31st. cant wait
i should get an invite for next preorder and i'd buy an lcd because i use it only at home so doesn't worth to take a qi version...really hope that someone will review this model before i have to place my order.
I read a new review by a e-reader site say that the PQI screen isn't bad at all, it just has its strengths and weaknesses.
I will post a quick review and try to get a video as well. I have a point and shoot, but the video from it is not the greatest quality. I do not think my SLR has video.
finally somone got LCD version....
here's the review

I wrote up a quick one on the site I write for. My brothers came in yesterday. The LCD is great, viewing angles could be a little better but the screen is clear and quite vibrant.

Thanks a lot for the review. I'm glad the LCD can display colors better than the Pixel Qi Variant. Could you make a video comparing the screen to a Laptop/Desktop screen or your Vibrant?
Hello
I read on notionaddicts forum, that LCD screen is very clear in sunlight.
What is your experience using it outside ? Could you make some photos or videos using it outdoors in sunny day?
Yup still waiting on mine.
Got mine in today. Will update later.
man, I really cant wait, for mine to arrive....please get those reviews out, as many vids and pics as possible please
I just received mine yesterday. Pixel Qi variant. It works well for its intended purpose, but I would probably choose the lcd if I had to do it all over again. I think. I'll miss the color saturation more than I will take it outside. I did have it in the sun today, and it was quite readable.
Sent from my Adam using XDA App.
Still using it, but still may sell it. Anyone interested, let me know, I would sell it at cost.
I have received my Adam LCD 3g version, we are slowly becoming friends. The LCD viewing angle isn't the greatest and seems to be worse in low light conditions. Of course in direct sunlight it's near impossible to see, but with some shade outside it's OK.
Colours are good and it looks nice, I have one green pixel that is always on, I guess that is acceptable, although with modern LCD's it is a bit unusual to have a dead/always on pixel.

I bought a second-hand HD2 off eBay which to all intents and purposes is in excellent condition, however it has lighter blotch where the backlight is brighter than the rest of the display. This is very clear on white backgrounds and I find it quite annoying.
Tomorrow I am getting the HD2 picked up for a (hopefully) warranty repair; I was hoping for some feedback from the good people on here as to their experience with the phone as I have FIVE friends with HD2s, ALL of whom have a lighter blotch on their display, some worse than others.
This makes me think that it CAN'T be an incredibly rare phenomenon for this device.
I have owned a number of capacitive screened devices and have never seen this on any other handset. Even battered up old iPhone 2gs don't seem to have this problem.
I'm a bit concerned about the screen developing a spot again; I'm also concerned that HTC will try to charge me for the repair....
Anyone got any stories to tell about their screens developing blotchy patches and how HTC responded? And has anyone owned a HD2 since launch that STILL has a perfect screen?
Just be interested to know
Mine has 3 spots showing when on a white back ground but I choose to ignore them. Also sometime my whole screen goes white like a negative photo but I just reboot and the screen goes back to how it should.
I have them since i dropped it and the top corner of my screen got damaged. my gf does not have them at all!
No problems with screen here...purchased dec '09
I contacted HTC (I purchased my phone off ebay) been told it's still under warranty they are collecting tomorrow and said it would be 10 days until I get my repair back
I don't have this problem, but i always keep it in the leather condom when not using it. I did have the negative looking screen once but that never happened again. I think as long as you are gentle with it after it's repaired then it shouldn't happen again.

A picture of the screen would really help...
Had that problem with my first HD2(bought it the first day it was available at expansys). I sent it on warranty and they have replaced few things(including mainboard, lcd and touchscreen).
I have a new one as well and this problem is not present.

not necessarily in that order i do think the note addresses allot of issues with current smartphone. Then takes the best of a 5.3 " screen and adds some nice features plus they make it very pocketable given the extra screen estate and battery life gained from the note. Love it. I would have however asked for the screen to be amoled plus as its slightly sharper and the s pens button should be a textured kind and an additional button further up making it easier to find when needed. Just like a normal pen with soft rubber textured grip.
Any thoughts opinions or questions just ask. Also sorry if the lightings really that bad but it was 3 in the morning with energy saving dark bulbs since they certainly don't light much.

Thanks for taking the trouble to produce such informative clips of the Note which highlight the many brilliant features. You show how the Note can become the one device to replace a phone and tablet which is what I am going to do.
Thanks guys appreciate the feedback. If there's anything else you want to see or know let me know

Hell i take it all back lol but thanks for the coming sleepless nights awaiting your review ilovemyjasjar im pretty sure you will love it and not having to carry my netbook and tab about for tethering is great since im with giffgaff woohoo.
Thanks drgopoos for the pics those are fantastic. Always good when you want to see everything about this device.
One thing i was asked over at phandroid was if this will get scratched up like the shinny plastic on the s2 hopefully from the high res pics you will see there is no shinny plastic on this whixb is lovely also the metal plastic bezel on the side goes from front to back so the battery cover sits against it and it finishes just before the screen starts so the device feels quality
and the speaker has a little bump in the plastic that covers it so its not completely flat when on a table which is nice if you use speakerphone or listen to music
Ok this is the camera test since i was asked how the cam was on the note.
these are pics taken in complete darkness as was the 1080p vid just to show how good this thing is even in pitch black conditions
Il try get some outdoors ones at some point as well. The led is very bright on this phone and works brilliantly

I ordered my HOX from ebay after reading all the positive reviews about it's crisp screen. But as soon as I powered up my phone and went in to the setting screen I could clearly see the dull yellowish tint on the whites. I had come from super amoled screen on SGSII. So the screen looked too warm for my liking, blacks were also not that deep.
After updating the device to the latest firmware, flashing 4 different custom ROMs, the yellow tint did not go away. Now today after two days I just decided to sell it for $120 less than what I had bought it for. $120 gone in vain.
From now on I will always buy electronic stuffs before testing it personally, and will never trust all these "REVIEW" sites.
Hope the SGSIII will have better screen than HOX and SGSII, otherwise I'm f****d.

Don't worry mate... **** happens. I hope you'll have a more satisfying experience with the SGS3. It's always a good idea to try out a demo of the phone at a local store before taking the plunge, but as far as HOX is concerned, it's been a gamble so far... people have gone through upto as many as 9 replacements (acc to the HOX forum) and are still finding issues with it. Some have been lucky enough to get a fault-free device, but a significant proportion are very miffed at the QC implemented by HTC before shipping the phones off. Same goes with the HOS - what with the chipping issues and all. Replacements are not the solution here, as i guess HTC needs to seriously take a good hard second look at its manufacturing process.

Read on the HOX forum that the yellow tint is due to the lamination glue that takes some time to dry out and set and then the colours become better. I really don't know how accurate that info is, but going by my personal experience with a One X (friend's) I must say the screen is positively the best I have ever seen on a mobile device so far. That said, I still have to put it next to an SGS3 to see how they both compare (this can be a very subjective feeling, so there's no way to tell without actually eyeballing it yourself)
Good job brother! Welcome to the club.
Sold my HOX on ebay yesterday and ordered my SGS3 today. I just didn't love the HOX-- I finally smoothed it out mostly with a custom rom and kernel, only to introduce some other goofiness. Oh well--the SGS2 was my fave all time android device so I'm excited to use the new one.

I did try the demo unit but I forgot taking my SII to compare the screen.(biggest mistake). At the store the screen look good. But when I came home and compared it with my SII I was highly disappointed.
I doubt that it would have lost it's tint, because it was way too yellow.
Yeah, HTC need to improve their quality control.

I agree, SGSII with custom GB ROMs was perfect, super smooth, fast and had excellent battery life. May be SII's awesomeness didn't let us love HOX.

REAL white does seem slightly yellow, but not everyone likes it. I had my Plasma Calibrated, and while it made the detail much better by making the grey scale perfect, it was way to yellow for my taste, so i changed the temperature. It may not be 'correct', but its much more pleasant (and i still have the details and brilliant blacks).
You get a lot of 'true white' nazis on here, that blindly moan about AMOLEDs being blue and over saturated, but some of us like that.
Pre-ordered mine too. WIsh to sell my I9100 S2 as well. Interested can send me a PM. I believe i am a part of this club already.

Hi friends, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note since 2012 and I used to love it. It was fast, big, it had a good camera, an almost perfect screen (The first HD Super Amoled screen) and the amazing S-Pen. It went from 2.3.5 Gingerbread to Android 5.0 Lollipop (Unbelievable). But yes, after 3 years of heavy using it, it started to show problems. The camera stopped working fine, It didn't focused anymore, the S-Pen started malfunctioning (moving elements of the screen without even touching it), the USB board went bad (including the microphone and usb jack) and the screen has burn-in issues. Then I assumed that was time to change it. Now I'm looking for the new flagship, the Note 4 (which I'm going to buy in January). So I read almost every review of it, every video and photos taken with his camera and everyone says that the phone is almost perfect (I mean almost because the 80% complains about the Touchwiz Layer in the OS, which I love and I don't have any problem to live with it) and doesn't have any flags. So I came here to ask to the people who already owned it and have some daily experience with the device what are their thoughts, problems and good things about it. Also some little things that I'm a bit worried:
-How good the camera is?
-It's early to ask because no one had this phone for more than 4 months, but does anyone experienced screen burn in? And how looks the screen in direct sunlight?
-What parts of the phone are metal? Only the frame or the whole body? And how feels it? It's good to handle or still feels like cheap plastic?
-What about the phone duration? Anyone had scratches on it? How bad they're? Please if you can add some photos of them, because the phone isn't even released here in Argentina and they arent any covers or protectors for the it so I need to stay for around 3 months with a "nude" phone.
Sorry for too many questions, but I really need to know how good this phone is because the price is really high. Thanks!

- The Camera is fine, in my opinion, but that probably depends on the persons preference and use.
- I can't say I have experienced any burn-in, but the screen is okay in direct sunlight; however, if you angle your phone to inspect the glass in sunlight with the screen on, I notice a reddish tint all over with that blurryness you would experience if you were in a well-lit city at night without glasses when you need them haha :silly:
- Admittedly, the phone feels a tad delicate, but that's what cases are for! I have been using an s-view case without a screen protector since purchase and it still looks like-new! If you aren't going to use a case for your phone though, a full metal body might be better.
- With my s-view case and no screen protector, my phone has no scratches - that I can see. Unless you carry your phone in the same pocket as your keys and other objects, you will be fine :3 Unless you carry sand in your pocket Phone duration seems to vary among different models though. I am using a 910V (?) and I get anywhere from 4~6 hours of Screen-on time. The stand-by time is the best part though imo. I can usually go 2 days or more without a charge.
edit:
The red tint usually happens if I angle the phone on purpose I leave my brightness settings on automatic and the screen is always clear (as it would be at nighttime) with the sun directly over me.

If I had any complaints, the s-pen would convince me that it's worth it so I'm pretty biased xD
The phone is just fine. But u should buy the qualcom varients as this is my 3rd note 4. Its qualcom but backside 4g+ is written. Its true if u see the display from an extreme angle you will see red tint but its normal for me cause almost nobody watch the display from 170 or 180 degree. Qualcom chipset has better ram and bettery management over exinos one. And the phone really looks premium. Not only looks but u will feel it when you touch it. No problem seeing the display at direct sunlight. And it does not matter if they use gorilla glass 10 it will have scratch if you do not use screen protector or flip cover. So be careful.
