Flashing problem - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Several days ago i try to flash (without success) Merruk kernel. After that incident (LOL) I was flashed stock rom nd start to flash JBv3.I followed the procedure step by step (that was my 3th time flashing JB),But i stucked in S.logo :silly:
After that i contact Percy215 nd bro is advised me to flash JB from stock recovery. And it worked! :silly:
Then i flashed White's kernel 1.2.0
So,my dear friends-what hapening with CWM recovery (CWM bla bla,....)whether the costume kernel modify stock recowery even after flashing a stock rom.
After all that i'v flashed again stock rom and then Repencis 3.5 in the same way-through Stock recowery.
And the question is: what to do next time (i'm gona try USSR v8) ??????:silly:

Whites an d other kernels like merruk, hells come witj their own cwm recoveries.
So if you want to boot into stock recovery you need to flash stock kernel or kernel like kuros which has stock recoveries and temporary cwms

Man, i was flashed those 2 roms (JB and Repencis) from Stock recovery which means that i was on stock rom before flashing those costume roms.I know that those kernels has their recoverys (permanent recoverys)
Totally weird situation !!

Where is the problem then?
For what you opened new thread?

When cwm is not working ' stock recovery should do the trick

if you want to flash ussr8 .
just do the procedure of flashing that rom. the tut is posted on ussr thread
no matter youre using white kernel or any kernel which directly goes to cwm recovery.
if you want to flash ussr9. you have to go back to stock kernel first or those which has stock recovery first because that rom (ussr9) has no kernel and your previous will be the one to be used.

here is the best answer,,
if u r in USSR any verision,,people forget to reboot into recovery after installing the room-----this is important (in CWM go to advance reboot recovery then wipe data and cahe) then reboot,,
in hyperion stock recovery is the best to use,, i used this many time w/o single bootloop.
note:doesn't matter if u are in stock or custom rom
note: if u are using CWM always mount system and data

Flash your phone to base DXLF1 and try installing Hyperion from there. if you still have trouble installing the ROM, try flashing DXLF1 then install EVO-X2.1 then Hyperion (that's what I did)
also you don't need a pre-rooted phone. installation of Hyperion automatically roots your phone. and if you did a fresh flash and haven't booted up your phone (after Odin flashing, immediately booted to Recovery then CWM Recovery) then you don't have to do a data reset or cache wipe, your phone after flashing stock rom is already as good as wiped and reset.
and you can flash Hyperion from either CWM or Stock Recovery. but the flashing of EVO-X2.1 requires CWM. I forgot if EVO needs root, but you can check that out on the developers page (too lazy to add link )
first flash stock dxlf
then if youre succesfull go to stock rom home screen
reboot recovery clear data factory reset and cache on stock recovery
then apply root update.zip (file you need to root ur phone)
next open cwm clear data and cache again
after that install hyperion then donot reboot and donot apply any update (must be later after succes install)
clear data and cache again in cwm
then reboot recovery clear data and cache again
then reboot wait for a while
thats my step and now im using hyperion smoothly

go dig in that thread, you should find it eventually. also you need to know how to use Odin flasher, but that's already included in the guide.

you may immediately flash to DXLF1. just go to download mode without doing anything. Like I said, flashing stock roms is as good as getting your phone right from the factory.
after flashing to DXLF1 you may retry flashing Hyperion. if that doesn't work, then refer to my previous post on what I did.

you should wipe data wipe cache wipe dalvik cache as it can cause bootloop then try to install it again and for flashing rom you do not need root access .
press thank if I helped you

Force into recovery mode

Is there a way to force Galaxy Y into Recovery mode when we cannot boot into Recovery mode by using the three button combo? I am asking this because everytime we flash a custom kernel that has a permanent custom recovery mode, we need to always flash stock rom via odin to change to some other custom rom or kernel. For example, Merruk kernel has its own custom recovery mode. Now if we want to change back to some other kernel or custom rom that have its own kernel after flashing merruk kernel, we always need to first flash stock rom via odin. If we directly flash another kernel or custom rom that has its own kernel, we got stuck at Galaxy Y screen and after that we won't be able to boot into recovery mode again. Thanks in advance.

I have tried it many times in savies kernel...
By trying that boot recovery option...
But no luck...however in some kernels like kuro kernel...
It is possible as they have temporary cwm...
**rooting is new for me...and i am noob to root...**
Anyone having a solution to this problem?

I don't have any problem... I used merruk 2.0 which has permanent CWM.. Then i flashed Kuro kernel which have stock recovery got no problem...
solution- if u use any kernel which have cwm then flash a kernel which have stock recovery like kuro.
Then flash your rom......
Btw i never got this tupe of problem.

First of all... you can flash any rom or kernel when you are on kernel with inbuilt cwm...
Otherwise what's the point of making a inbuilt cwm?
Just make sure you have mounted system in mount options before flashing any rom or kernel...
I'm sure it will definitely get installed... make sure you mount system before flash...

Muffins..? Yuumy!
No problems for me to switch back and forth between mt and other kernels - in fact i do it often and i don't remember the last time i used odin

[Q] ClockWordMod Recovery installation of a ROM fails

Hello,
I tried multiple times to install a ROM with ClockWordMod Recovery on a rooted Samsung Galaxy Y with stock kernel & rom.
Even when I reflash the stock rom with Odin and try everything what people suggest on the internet, it doesn't work.
I get the next error when I try to install a ROM like JellyBlast or some other ROM's: Installation aborted(bad).
What can I do to fix this ?
And also it isn't possible to flash ClockWordMod Recovery for permanent, need to flash it over and over when I restart recovery.
If this problem is with multiple roms, you need to probably try another zip file of CWM. If this is for one particular rom, download the rom zip again; you must not have downloaded it fully.
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
there are some roms which install only via recovery not cwm..
nd if u want permanent cwm try to install a kernel with cwm like savie's kernel..
**rooting is new for me...and i am noob to root...**
This happened because ur downloaded ROM file is bad. Do a redownliading or unzip it with zipper then zip it again. Then it will be ok. Last time i had a problam like this
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
Most probably corrupted files
clearly,god is a democrat!
Thank you all for the fast responses and I tried also different roms and I have a second problem too with unzipping the roms.
When I try to unzip all of the roms that I tried, It gives an error that I can't unzip it, and I tried 4 times to download again and again the ZIP, but nothing works.
Do you guys have an idea of a kernel with permanent CWM and an ICS rom for Galaxy Y that works by installing it with CWM ?
So yes, could you please send me the XDA-thread if possible ?
@menewtoroot: Could you send me the correct topic of that Kernel with working download links and can you also confirm that this will work for a permanent CWM ?
Thank you all again, I will wait for you
Firstly :
Problem if you fail to flash, try to check the flashable zip file, maybe Bad file/corrupt file
Second :
if you want to have permanent CWM on your phone, i recommend you to try using Savie kernel
it so fast and more performance and have Permanent CWM

If you really want your phone to work fast and default CWM.
I suggest you use Merruk kernel.
Fast and bug free.
If I helped maybe you would consider hitting thanks button.

Hello guys,
I did try everything like it does need to be working, but it doesn't work.
First time I tried, the ROM booted but everything crashed so I started over again:
Wiped everything
Flashed Stock rom with Odin
Flashed the Jellyblast rom
Flashed CWM with Merruk kernel
Tried to boot and stuck at boot screen
Tried this for several times, even without flashing Merruk's kernel it doesn't work.
Can you please provide me a short SELF-MADE tutorial with the easy steps to do what and FLASH what?
With the files included please ?
Thank you all!

question about kernel

Hey guys I have n910c 6.01 rooted with two recovery. I want to ask if is there any way to install a custom kernel through another custom kernel. What I mean . I have a custom kernel that I don't want anymore and I don't want to reset my phone for a kernel... so I am asking if there is any way to do that. Thanks
Just reflash your zip rom without wiping data
Then flash any custom kernel you want

The problem is that the rom is stock. Not custom. So I can't flash the rom
Well . .
Method 1:
u need to do a backup first with ur custom recovery then flash the new kernel over the old one & see if things goes well or if u got troubles u can restore ur backup .
Method 2:
- u need to do a backup first with ur custom recovery.
- Then do a factory reset.
- In custom recovery go to restore & Restore everything except the system partition.
- after that u can flash ur new kernel.
PS: by custom recovery i mean TWRP .
