My droid x is on pageplus' network and I'm running Gummy 1.20. Just recently my phone starting acting a little off so I sbfed back to stock. After the sbf I forgot to boot into Linux before flashing the milestone x firmware to the phone. I then reflashed to stock and correctly flashed the milestone x firmware. I then rooted the phone once again and rebooted into a backup of a custom rom. Everything on the phone is working fine except the data now refuses to work. I tried contacting pageplus but the troubleshooting that they gave me consisted of making sure data was turned on and that's about it. I also called Verizon but they were unable to help due to the fact that I'm not a customer with Verizon. I've used the extent of my knowledge to try to fix the phone but alas I've had no luck. I have discovered that when I turn on data the gprs service just says connecting and is unable to connect. I've taken the phone to a few guys around town but still no luck. So if anybody has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Does anyone know if I could use page plus' ESN change and change my service to another phone and then change it back to my droid x? Would this have the same effect as if Verizon had "refreshed" my data?

I have solved my problem. I called page plus and had them switch my service to a different phone and then switch it back.

have several times including wipe data, cache and dalvik. using cm6.1.1, same results with cm and pershoot kernel.
doesnt seem like i easily find the answer so if someone could even recommend the best area to start looking foe issues that would be great. Or would it help to somehow get an error log from it if that possible? thanks, veritas
Try turning off 3G for a whole day and see if you have the problem. It could be the 3G.

Happened to me. Had to replace my SIM.
Hi there, I am using a Bell Desire Z on Fido.
The 3G disconnects when GPS activates ... and other times too.
Most often when I use google Maps. But after restarting mobile network, it would keep working for a time.
I though that there might be a bug where the 3G needed to be restarted everytime it encountered a new cell tower but now I am not so sure.
Any ideas what might be causing this problem?

Hmm... I have a G2 and never experience that problem. Well if your not rooted u should factory reset and see if that works... If you are prem-rooted and s-off u should flash a different rom that might work lol... sorry if am not to helpful

Hi yeah I am not rooted and it has been happening since I got my phone.
Could it be the APN settings? But it is not like I can't connect but more like I get kicked off.

Hmm... have you tried factory reseting the phone. Most of the times that fixes the issues on the phone. If that does not work try calling your customer care and tell them what's going on. They will reset your signal and if the issue persist you should get your phone replaced.

Somehow I deleted all APN settings but the APN name mcc and mnc and now it is stable.
Weird because I had just copied the APN settings from my milestone which worked fine.
I had tried that before but it was still unstable but I think I had left the user name and password in.
Thanks for the replies though.
i flashed then restored my phone through a backup i made but now i can't connect to my 3g. its an alltel samsung galaxy showcase (yeah i know its no fascinate but didn't see one for mine and its close on everyother god forsaken forum) anyway idk what it did wrong but my wife has the same phone and it works fine, is there anyway to use hers to get mine working again? my cdma changes after i disable wifi hers doesn't btw

Sometimes going into settings and disabling/enabling data will fix it, you could try reinstalling the rom, or at worst repartition/reinstall.
This is my first post ever on xda and I am in desperate need of help. I have a droid razr M that recently recieved an OTA update to 4.1.2. My wifi would not toggle on after the update. I thought I might have gotten a virus or something so just to be sure I unlocked my boot loader, flashed 4.1.1 stock back onto my phone, wifi worked just fine. OTA update again to 4.1.2 and it immediately quit working. My sister and brother have the same exact phone and this did not happen for them. Please help, my phone has basically become useless to me since I cannot connect to wifi. Thank you to whoever can help me with this problem.
How much do you care about losing user data? You could wipe user data and see if that would fix it...

Your WiFi settings could have reset after the update. Check the settings to ensure that you have unchecked ignore weak signals.

Also make sure you have Wifi switched to "Always" in advanced settings. Keeps Wifi from turning off when your screen turns off.

I have pacman rom 23.0.0 installed. Unlocked bootloader. I'm using T-Mobile gsm. My cell service randomly drops stopping me from being able to call or text. Also, the rom keeps checking the "use 2g service only" box and i constantly have to UN check it? My stock backup has disappeared and Matt's utility does not work for me? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

This used to happen to my old Droid 2 Global which was unlocked for GSM. I used it on AT&T and sometimes the signal would drop completely and a reboot would be the only way to bring it back, and my Razr M often drops data connectivity (though signal still remains strong) for a couple minutes at relatively frequent intervals. I think it's just the problem with using phones meant for CDMA on GSM networks.
With that said, what does Matt's Utility say? Have you installed the Motorola drivers found here ?
If none of that helps, try going to a T-Mobile store and asking for a replacement SIM. It sounds kinda dumb, but I had a Nokia Lumia 710 that would randomly reboot throughout the day. Somewhere on the internet I read that someone else had the same problem, and replacing the SIM fixed it. I thought it was stupid at the time, but I got a new SIM and it worked! Crazy stuff.
thanks for the reply. unfortunately it does not matter now. i used rsd lite to flash to stock which all went good but there was an ota update that took and the phone rebooted but will now not turn on at all no matter what. It is totally done... I only get a green light while charging or plugged into the computer but nothing works to bring it back to life. Thanks anyways!!!
