Edit: the problem is with my 4g, not pdanet. On my phone itself with 4g on I can't load any webpages or get any other data connection. Worked last Friday, and haven't made any changes to the phone. Running burnt 1.3 with net 421 smartass nohavs.
Try reinstalling the pdaNet on both the phone and computer.
If still nothing, try turning your phone off then back on.
Sometimes people never turn their phones off.
Hope this helps.
i am one of those people who never turn off their phones >.>
anyway I had to reinstall it on the pc today anyway. It decided to not work anymore v.v havent reinstalled on my phone yet though.
Bump for edit

I have the same problem. I don't use pdanet. I can connect to the 4G network but I cant load a webpage or download anything. Basically no data transfer. I took it to a Sprint store and they are just going to replace the phone.
Transfer that's the word i was looking for
I'm going to reflash the wimax radio when I get home and my phone isn't dying, i'd hate to have to replace the phone.

Bah, reflashing the radio didn't help. Anyone got any ideas?

I am having the same problem with mine. It was working up until a few weeks ago, but now I can connect but it is painfully slow to load web pages. The page loads like 3/4's of the way, and then hangs for the rest of the page. The last 1/4 of loading takes a few minutes. That isn't even on a graphic-heavy page.
I am able to tether on my laptop though.
I am on OMJ's ROM, and have the most up-to-date radios that I know of

I've had this problem before too and the only way I found to fix it was to un-root and flash the stock rom. Then check if it works.
If it does work, root and flash a rom, I used sprint lovers rom and I didn't have any 4G issues with loading pages.....
Same here....recent issue....not sure what's up. Could be the network and not the phone maybe....what area are you trying to connect to 4g?

Buddy I work with has an evo too and connected just fine standing next to me.
I can't imagine it fried the radio itself since it connects fine.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
well that blows....
i dont' have another evo to test it with....so I was HOPING it was a network thing....but I'm thinking it's not.
I checked my RSA keys.....they're still good.....
I have a NANDROID backup from a while ago when my 4g was still working...I'll flash it the next time I get to a 4g area and see if that fixes the problem.
I haven't touched my phone in terms of mods in over 2 months...so I'm wondering what the hell happened. I hate when **** like this just comes out of nowhere.
Please let me know via this thead if you have any new news.
new WiMax update is out in the dev forums. I'm going to flash now and see if it fixes my problems when i'm at work later (sidenote: my town has 4G, i just cant get it to connect at my house damn....trees)
Well I'm at a different place than normal but after flashing the new radio 4g is working.

I found out that my issue here was the app adfree.... if I stopped using that app, webpages on 4g load fine.
.....did nothing and 4g is working now....
aside from poking around in the adb shell to see if my RSA keys and MAC were still in tact (which they are)...my 4g started working again all by itself.
it was down for a week....and by "down" I mean that I could connect absolutely fine....get an IP....but could not transfer ANY data up or down. I did reboot serveral times while it was not working and that didn't fix the issue either.
Whatever....as long as it's working again...
Hmm i've been using adfree too but it didn't cause any problems. I agree Dell, as long as it's working.

have several times including wipe data, cache and dalvik. using cm6.1.1, same results with cm and pershoot kernel.
doesnt seem like i easily find the answer so if someone could even recommend the best area to start looking foe issues that would be great. Or would it help to somehow get an error log from it if that possible? thanks, veritas
Try turning off 3G for a whole day and see if you have the problem. It could be the 3G.

I've got data issues as well, I installed the Desire OS on my HD2 on the USA t-mobile network. I suspect the Desire ROM is from the UK, it has no glitches except with connecting to my US Data network. I've Looked and I can't seem to find a US Desire OS nearly as stable as the one I currently have + with working data. Anyone have any ideas?
Nvm, I got it. =)
Hello,
Had some setcpu wanna be installed that would toggle mobile data for different battery percentages and since removing it I can't enable 4g with the widget toggle or the menu setting. Seems that even with data enabled (how I'm sending this now) something in the system is telling the 4G option it's actually disabled.
Of course I've tried reboots, it's persisted through kernel upgrades and a rom upgrade. I guess I'm looking for clues as to where this would need to be fixed. I've tried updating the prl, the profile and setting WCDMA preferred, turning on/off the radio in the debug menu... nothing.
Currently using Peter Alfonso's ICS/bugless beast rom (2/16? Build) and mathkids Matr1x kernel (17.5).
Any help would be awesome.

Did you freeze or disable any apps? And have you tried doing a Nandroid backup and re-flashing your rom (or any other) to see if that fixes the problem.
hopefully you didn't wipe your wimax partition while in recovery, otherwise you will have to restore the wimax.img

I've flashed more roms as upgrades but not restored anything from nandroid backup. I have only froze the Facebook app - the rest I'd like to - ICS won't let me.

I use the latest NexusHD2 ROM and sometimes my phone connects to 3G and uses up my money for mobile internet from my provider even though I have it disabled, because I only use Wi-fi. It also does this when I install ROM through CWM and boot it up. My temporary solution was to install app to block mobile data to certain applications, but I'd like some better solution if there is.
Forgot to mention, but apps that have autoupdate feature in them do this too when I have wifi off.
Have you tried fixing permissions?

OK I'll try that and report back :good:
Sorry for doublepost, but I wanted to say so far so good altough whenever I flash new ROM it always has them enabled by default, It would be good if I could turn them off before that so I don't have to take out my SIM card everytime :/
Don't know where it is but if you remove the apn file from the rom before installing that should do it.
Google is your friend
I do now.. /system/etc/apns-conf.xml
