Tegra games/exynos - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Missed having THD games,Even though the Asus TF700 had so many issues,it was tegra.
? Will Exynos have a games catalog like Tegra or when would we sell those THD games coming to Exynos....

I would rather not see Exynos-specific games... would rather see games with enhanced graphics that push Exynos and other similarly powerful hardware to the limit, but also be able to play on any other device. THD/Tegra games are just some cheap selling point for hardware imo, and just bad for other devices in-general.
I bought THD versions of games and then ended up getting something with better hardware then Tegra 3, and can't even play those said THD games... it's stupid. And to top it off, I'd have to rebuy the non-THD version of those games...

I think Google have to fix their PlayStore with Apps working and All Devices, especially Nexus device...

There will be no catalog for exynos devices.
Tegra games will not work with the exynos, until the app gets updated to support it.
Some apps have exclusivity deals with nvidia, so depending on the deals and whether they are time dependant, will depend on whether they are updated to support non tegra games.
And THD apps are horrible, i have sonic Ep2 thd version for my N7 but that wont work for my N4/N10, yet it wants me to buy again the normal version so i cant even play this game on any device. Likewise i bought shadowgun for my GS3 and when i got the N7 turns out theirs a THD version for that, that i miss out on unless i buy the same game again.

If your device is rooted you can always download Chainfire 3D and set your device to Tegra and play THD games? I used to play THD games on my S2 using Chainfire 3D.

It stopped working properly since ICS.

I sold the Acer A700 (Tegra 3).
My Nexus 10 is on the way.
On this picture we can see Horn.

Horn is a Tegra 3 game.
Apparently you can install it on the Nexus.
I think it doesn't work.
Has anyone tested Horn ?

I wish they're just do OPTIMIZED FOR TEGRA 3, and Exynos and etc...
Like if you have a quad core device with a top notch tegra3/4 equal GPU than you device would just get some additional code or something but this making a game THD exclusive is B.S. like it was mentioned if you have a tegra tablet n non tegra phone like me you either buy it twice or blackm rt it up.
I used chainfire, device spoofer and such to make my HP TOUCHPAD w/android able to run thd games.so as long as ya got dual core you're atleast equal to tegra2 or 3 idk....but I know my touchpad which is liken to ipad2 could handle thd apps. Not all but most.
And w/ dead trigger if you change some number in a file you can make it use thd enhanced features, the water running down screen n blood I believe. I did it on my gnex-toro.
I have nex7 and love it Peerfect for gaming. Like a touchscreen.controller, I wanna get those stickies you can put over on-screen buttons for a more actual feel. I know we can use ps3 controller or oth 3rd party android bt ones. But I like touchscreen. And holding my game up close.
I sold my ps3 cause I mostly play on my gnex, touchpad, ipad4, nexus7 I really see the ps4 generation being the last console generation.

THD is a blight on the Play Store, introducing fragmentation for no good reason other than corporate greed. It introduces REAL fragmentation, compared the fake "omg why are there so many screen sizes?!?" fragmentation sites paid off by Apple seem to love pointing out. It'd be a sad day if other SoC vendors decided to follow NVidia's path, as it would really hurt Android's credibility to most consumers.

Asphalt 5
I think Android games is better than PSP games
And you should have all of them
Thanks
Edited : The Sims 3 HD download file :
Here, the Sims 3 HD of my Xperia X10.
I have backup it with Titanium Backup.
So you must download and install Titanium Backup before you can install+play The Sims 3 HD.
Titanium Backup can be found on the Market (rooted required)
Here the link of The Sims 3 HD : NO WAREZ
After you download it, you must extract the content of your downloaded file to sd card:/TitaniumBackup folder (if not found it, you can create a folder with name "TitaniumBackup" on your sd card)
Then, go to Titanium Backup app, and then restore The Sims 3 from Backup/Restore tab.
Enjoy your The Sims 3 HD

PSP is so much better. For example: Persona 3! All the TALES of games on PSP.
Dynasty warrior multi raid 1 and 2!
metal gear solid peace keeper!
and DYSSIDIA!!! BEST GAME EVER!
I love valkyria chronicle which is coming soon.
You only live in a world with phone games, you never have the true taste of real gaming yet! Most of the games you posted up there would most likely get a highest score of 5/10 @ ign. almost all of them are crap in ps3/PC/xbox360 version.

Galaxy s games

Can galaxy s support games like Iphone 4?
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
It does support some of the same games like Asphalt and Angry birds
but in general Android isnt ripe for gaming yet
It doesn't have too many games yet, but there are quite a few good ones. Android development does seem to be accelerating actually.
One engine which might be popular in the future (ID rage) has been ported to iPhone but carmack isn't committed to porting to Android yet, so it's hard to know what the future is like, but Android is getting pretty cool
You guys think 3.0 gingerbread could do it?

Mostly.. If Carmack does finish rage for Android though, that will be cool.
There are plently of top games on android and many play better then an iphone (3gs 4g is fine).
These are the main games I have on my galaxy S at the moment, they all play perfect and some are very good graphics. And this is only a few of the 100s of games available for Android....

Asphalt5 - Galaxy Freebie, a 3D racer with high frame rate and good graphics
Angry Birds - Free from Market, a good puzzle game, the object is to kill pigs with a variety of birds shot from a catapult
Tiki Tower - Free from Devs website, a puzzle games the object is to get all the Monkeys from A to B whilst collecting all the bananas
Real Football - £3 from Gameloft, A footbal sim what more can I say
Hexen II - Free supports full controls (must own full game for pak files), plays just like the original on the pc though controls can be tricky
Guitar Hero World Tour - Can't remember where I got this from, only supports 3 frets and seems to want to download each song as and when you play it but does play ok.
Heroes of Sparta - £3 from Gameloft, very good 3D adventure game big swords and lots of blood
PapaStacker - Free from Market, the object of the game is to stack blocks of various shapes, and sizes and the stack must balance before the time runs out to progress
Zenonia - Fairly cheap from Market, an RPG game but I haven't given it a proper whirl yet
Avatar - £3 from Gameloft, 3D game with little simularity to the movie
Snesoid - Get your roms out plays all, use the lite version save your money
Gameboid - Again use lite version
Dungeon Hunter - £3 from Gameloft, and RPG based on lvling a character of your choice with XP, weapons, items etc one of my fav games atm
Kwaak3 - Quake3 Arena, still working on getting BT keyboard working with this, but the game itself plays very well
PSX Emu - Playing Final Fantasy VIII on this atm works perfect.
Sandstorm - £3 from Gameloft, this is a "COD" fps style game.
I agree, Its not up to our system as if you look very closely iphone 4 and sgs almost share the exact hardware. Their A8 cortex cpu is actualy a hummingbird cpu with minor changes being ours is just a little more powerful (just a little) and Samsung actualy builds the cpu for appl

Tegrazone is a marketplace app for supported Tegra devices. It is for games and apps optimized for the Tegra processor. It has not launched yet so they weren't able to put it onto the Atrix. Should be able to download the app from market when it releases though.

Check out the price for Galaxy on Fire 2 in the screenshot....$14.99. I'm praying those prices are not right, $14.99 and $9.99 price tags for phone games seems pretty high.
Looking forward to playing some games geared toward the Tegra 2.

Most of the great iPhone games are $4.99-9.99 so they should be more in that range.
Unfortunately, it is no longer going to be deployed to the Atrix. It's been released in the Android Market, but only for SonyEricsson Xperia Play.
tegrazone still has it listed as an april release, its only the 9th. there is no reason to think it wont get released at this point.
Wrong. Fishlabs still plans on releasing it

Well, I found an interview w/Fishlabs and they talk about still working on the graphics for tegra2. Found plenty of info for XOOM and Gingerbread, but nothing for Atrix/2.2.
galaxy on fire 2 will only work with android 2.3 and higher. the demo of this game at CES on the atrix was one of the reason i wanted this phone. i hope we get gingerbread soon.

Go to Fishlabs' forums. They can and may make a version for Froyo.
As for the comment about it only being available on the Sony Xperia Play.... last i heard, basically anything that will be released for that will also work on the Atrix. Don't remember exactly where i read it.... can't recall if it was something here on the XDA website, or if it was on Gizmodo.... but i'm pretty sure i read something about it.
If it wasn't being released on Tegra devices Nvidia would have removed it from the TegraZone app I'm sure, they are pretty fast at those things. Before Crysis 2 came out they removed it from their DX11 lists right away after they found out Crytek was going to be a console sellout POS and only have DX9.

.... and yet still make what's probably the best looking DX9 game to date.... and have not said there won't be a DX11 update.... in fact hinting that there WILL be one at some point. Whether or not that comes, i don't care. I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Moreso than a lot of other games i've stupidly purchased, be it console or PC.
So can´t I download the game from anywhere? I have Cahinfire3D and the game on the TegraZone is only listed there... nothing more. I can´t download it or buy it. I´m finding only for Xperia versions of this game and I want the original for Tegra because there is a lot of better graphic than on other versions.

You're probably right. Same applies to Pocket Legends. I think the second list is existing Android games and upcoming Android games that will support the Play's gamepad soon.
LOL @ fapin' btw ^^
Lumines for Xperia Play is in the Market, however at launch it was set up to be incompatible with the Xperia Play as the Market saw things, so you wouldn't be able to actually purchase it. I poked the guys that made it and they fixed it so that it can be bought now. Also, you will find it when looking for Xperia Play Optimized games either with a manual search or with the automatic one you get from a button in the game launcher.
I also already have sent them a bunch of bugs to fix.

Soundtrack is hit or miss. There are some great tracks, but there are a couple of duds. Controls are great and graphics are good, but definitely could be better.

I've had no issues rotating pieces. You could alternately use L/R to spin them.
It just doesn't feel very fluid I guess. It works, but you can't hold the dpad left or right, you need to keep tapping it.
Also, I'm going to buy a Gameloft game. Just not sure whether to get Sacred Odyssey or go with Rainbow Six. I'm leaning towards Sacred Odyssey as I already have enough shooters, and a fun RPG with the Play's controls would be great.

Has anyone tried Eternal Legacy on the iDevices and tell us how it is? It is the only game I find sort of compelling, and not too much actually...
In response to someone asking about Lumines... It's a little on the buggy side, but still very much the same game you know and love, just with different themes. The gameplay sometimes becomes slightly unresponsive but nothing terrible by any means. There is no smooth transition between skins at this point. I don't know if they are planning on making any fixes at this point or not, but I sure hope so. Even with all this, I'm happy with my purchase.

What games do you think SHOULD be on the Play?

Just as the title says, what do you think would be a great game or games to have on this phone, but try to be realistic, for example, don't say Mass Effect 3 or anything of that sort, that's what OnLive is for. I'll go first.
I think Grandia 2 would be a great game to have on the Play, it was originally for the Dreamcast. It even looks like it could be an Android title in the first place IMO.

I love Grandia 2. I still play it on my dreamcast and I have all the grandia games. Ps1 Francis, Sega Saturn grandia. Grandia 2 for DC and PS2. Grandia xtreme grandia 3. I would not mind seeing Albert Odyssey from the Sega Saturn on the xperia play. Not the best graphics but great story.

Precisely Grandia, like other turn-based RPG or strategy game, is the kind of game that I wouldn't mind seeing in any Android phone, but which wouldn't fully use the virtues of the gamepad. In fact I think those kinds of games which don't require reflexes or speed of mashing buttons are better suited for the touchscreen, provided that you solve the issue of moving the characters. Games like Final Fantasy Tactics would be very nice to see properly ported to an Android phone.
A good fighter (that excludes that abortion called Fight Game Heroes which came about some time ago) is something we're sorely lacking, and which would use it. The Soul Calibur series would be legendary, a dream come true.
I would like to see a version of uncharted like the ps vita one

Rollercoaster Tycoon 1
All I really feel like we're missing is a online fighter.
Fight Game Heroes could be that game if they'd just beef up the fighting/techs and patch it with online play (like they said they would)

THE ENTIRE kingdom hearts saga. I would probably die if that happened

I think we miss open world rpgs in the vein of Elder Scrolls. I mean, sure you can play ultima underworld on andosbox... but it's not quite the same thing. (did anyone try dosbox turbo?)
Pac man ce DX
Gran Turismo
God of War
Killzone
LittleBigPlanet
Metal Gear Solid
Uncharted
GTA San Andreas. I saw someone playing it on an Android. I guess you need a java emulator.

We have it. I play it with fpse and it's fantastic. It doesn't need analogs anyway.
Battlefield 3, SSX, GT5, Unreal Tournament III & Mass Effect 3

I know, I just mean that the game should be officially released on the android store. With Maria and the extra levels included as well as being able to switch between the original and new voice acting...*drools*

I would really like to see:
At least one of the Twisted Metal series
Grand Turismo 1 and 2
Driver
Motorstorm RC (since it would be the most likely to be ported over)
Metal Gear Solid
Crash Team Racing (even though most people already have it)
I decided to look back on this topic.
I would love to have Doom 3 on the Android. That would be sweet. The requirements aren't even high at all (may need an OC'd Play since 1.5GHz is the minimum). The demo was also released for Linux, yet it was most likely closed source so that wouldn't work. Just a cool thought.
