[Q] Change Where Screenshots Get Saved - Windows 8 General

In Windows 8/RT, you can press WINKEY+PRT SCR to save a screenshot to C:\Users\%username%\My Pictures\screenshots. Is there a way to change this location via the registry?

Right click on the Screenshots folder and go to the "Location" tab. From there, you can move the folder and screenshots will be automatically saved in the new location.

I don't understand the question. Are you trying to browse to your computer from your PDA?
If you are sitting in front of your computer, and you can't use Windows Explorer to navigate to your Windows directory, and you can't do it on XP or Vista, then I think you aren't doing something correctly.

Dont physically abuse the computer just because you cant operate it. Perhaps you cant see the files because they are hidden?
LOL but seriously how would i access the t-mobile mda windows file from my computer?
Bring up activesync click explore then click My Windows Mobile-Based Device then click the windows folder. Sometime it takes a while for it to come up so all you'll have is a white screen. I've seen it take up to 45 seconds to bring it up finally so don't get impatient if it doesn't come right up. If that doesn't work then there's something definitely wrong somewhere.
I kno wut u r talking about it just doesn't sho up...any way else?
Do any of the folders on your phone show up when you browse your phone through activesync? Does it show the files in it when you browse to it on your phone itself using either file explorer or total commander?
Just as I was writing this I had another thought that it might be. It's possible that they are just hidden. Click on browse on activesync, then in the window it opens on your computer click on the tools link at the top and then folder options and then on the View tab at the top then go to the Hidden files and folders option and change it to show hidden files and folders.
If that doesn't fix it then it's probably time to uninstall and reinstall activesync and try again.
yes all files show up except windows...ill look and c if it is hidden...TY!
Update - Yes they were just hidden but thanks for the guidance!

Move application to folders

Hi, I would like to know how to move application to folders created in programs. Thanks
using total commander, go to /windows/start menu/programs
in there you can create new folders, add /move shortcuts and so forth
the read-only attributes need to be changed first for the standard proggies before you can move them
You also can create folders in "Office Mobile".
I have in \windows\start menu\ the following folders and sub-folders with various apps:
Office mobile
------Finance
------Games
------Multimedia
------Navi+Comms
------Office
------Reference
------System
Programs
------PI Utils
------Utilities
------SBSH Utils
------Tool box
For the standard programs I think you actually need to change the registry and not just the read-only status. Search here in the forum as this has been covered somewhere - I have seen it but don't have the link.

I have a similar grouping and nope, attributes will do it fine
BTW, I can recommend Quickmenu for a regular winXP style startmenu (check the wiki for the link) with cascading folers

Thanks - I stand corrected. I had read elsewhere that the registry needs changing. Thinking about that now, I think this referred to the Office Mobile folder.
How abt the those applications install and create in the program page. I wish to move them to a existing folder, like I've pocket UNO installed on the program page but I wish to move it to the game folder that already exist there.

Just cut and paste the file into the games folder - should move with no problem.

How Do I make Program Icons In Programs List?

Hay all,
I've just got the Need For Speed Game.
It runs fine using the touch screen control but how do I make an icon for it in the programs list?
No matter where I stick it on the phone or the memory card when I click on the "All Programs"
it doesnt show in the list. I have to go in to the file manager to find it to run it.
Thanks
Its easy my friend.
Open your file explorer i.e. Total Commander or File explorer 2 and navigate to location of Need For Speed. Create shortcut to this by holding down stylus on icon till menu pops up. Once you have created shortcut move or copy it to /Windows/Start Menu or /Windows/Start Menu/Games whichever you prefer. If you now go to Start > All Programs it should be there
Ha cheers bud

Better than standard stock rom explorer, though cooked roms have different explorers depending on which you use, i.e. some use Total Commnader, some File Explorer 2, some stock explorer

[PROJECT]Digging into WP8 Emulator

Hello XDA members!
I installed the leaked WinPho 8 SDK, and (as OndraSter said in an another topic) the ROM images are VHD files.
Currently, I can only open and mount Flash.vhd. The other 3 is not valid VHD.
I have found lots of REG files inside this and will try to unlock, but there is a tons of reg.
Found changes from 7.5:
There will be new ring- and alert tones
Power Point Presentations can be view in Portrait mode
Windows Live renamed to Microsoft account in account manager
If you set password you:
dont get a new "window" to set the password, just expand screen downwards
you can show the typed caracters
Charging while turned off?
I found some interesting files in boot partition:
battery_100.bmpx
battery_255.bmpx
battery_500.bmpx
battery_755.bmpx
battery_1000.bmpx
battery_charge_normall.bmpx
battery_errorr.bmpx
battery_inside_empty.bmpx
battery_plug_100.bmpx
battery_plug_255.bmpx
battery_plug_500.bmpx
battery_plug_755.bmpx
battery_plug_1000.bmpx
ffuloader.bmpx
mobilestartup.exe
pluggedin_battery_loww.bmpx
resetphone.bmpx
resetphone.exe
unplugged_battery_loww.bmpx
I live in a strong suspicion that new Windows Phone 8 devices can be charge without booting complete OS (becouse of EFI, maybe).
I cannot open bmpx files, becouse I could not find any program to do this.
Hidden video
Found an interesting video in emulator.
I have no idea what is this.

They are actually valid, those are differencing disks images and Flash.vhd is a parent for them.

Can you share how exactly you did the setup
Sorry for that trouble. I can confirm ONLY that vhd-s are okay. So I can mount it. But I don't think they are usable with virtual pc
Finally, I can start the emulator (do not ask how )
I will modify the first post to tell the (maybe little) differences between 7.5 and 8.
Good Topic
I hope the experts can find more changes and inform us the new changes coming with Windows Phone 8. I doubt there will be anything substantial to inform by Microsoft, although I am expecting some surprises.
You can run flash.vhd in VirtualBox, by setting the guest OS to Windows 7 and upping the graphics memory and enabling 3d + 2d graphics acceleration.
ie shortcut sync
any sign of sync of ie bookmarks to Skydrive to then syc with desktop; also sync of recent web history?

Windows Explorer starting location?

In the taskbar if you hold shift and right click on the explorer icon and hit properties, you can change the "Target" field to wherever you want to start the explorer when you click on it. On windows 7 you had to change something else to change it, but with that you could start it in Computer (My Computer). With windows 8, you just type in the folder location, and I cannot get it to start at Computer. Does anyone know how?
