In the taskbar if you hold shift and right click on the explorer icon and hit properties, you can change the "Target" field to wherever you want to start the explorer when you click on it. On windows 7 you had to change something else to change it, but with that you could start it in Computer (My Computer). With windows 8, you just type in the folder location, and I cannot get it to start at Computer. Does anyone know how?

I don't understand the question. Are you trying to browse to your computer from your PDA?
If you are sitting in front of your computer, and you can't use Windows Explorer to navigate to your Windows directory, and you can't do it on XP or Vista, then I think you aren't doing something correctly.

Dont physically abuse the computer just because you cant operate it. Perhaps you cant see the files because they are hidden?
LOL but seriously how would i access the t-mobile mda windows file from my computer?
Bring up activesync click explore then click My Windows Mobile-Based Device then click the windows folder. Sometime it takes a while for it to come up so all you'll have is a white screen. I've seen it take up to 45 seconds to bring it up finally so don't get impatient if it doesn't come right up. If that doesn't work then there's something definitely wrong somewhere.
I kno wut u r talking about it just doesn't sho up...any way else?
Do any of the folders on your phone show up when you browse your phone through activesync? Does it show the files in it when you browse to it on your phone itself using either file explorer or total commander?
Just as I was writing this I had another thought that it might be. It's possible that they are just hidden. Click on browse on activesync, then in the window it opens on your computer click on the tools link at the top and then folder options and then on the View tab at the top then go to the Hidden files and folders option and change it to show hidden files and folders.
If that doesn't fix it then it's probably time to uninstall and reinstall activesync and try again.
yes all files show up except windows...ill look and c if it is hidden...TY!
Update - Yes they were just hidden but thanks for the guidance!
Hay all,
I've just got the Need For Speed Game.
It runs fine using the touch screen control but how do I make an icon for it in the programs list?
No matter where I stick it on the phone or the memory card when I click on the "All Programs"
it doesnt show in the list. I have to go in to the file manager to find it to run it.
Thanks
Its easy my friend.
Open your file explorer i.e. Total Commander or File explorer 2 and navigate to location of Need For Speed. Create shortcut to this by holding down stylus on icon till menu pops up. Once you have created shortcut move or copy it to /Windows/Start Menu or /Windows/Start Menu/Games whichever you prefer. If you now go to Start > All Programs it should be there
Ha cheers bud
Can you tell I'm now to all this Windows Mobile stuff?
I presume the 2 attched files are better file explores? I'll give them a shot in a sec - cheers buddy

Better than standard stock rom explorer, though cooked roms have different explorers depending on which you use, i.e. some use Total Commnader, some File Explorer 2, some stock explorer
like in the title, why the windows folder loading in file explorer is very slow than in resco explorer is immediately? (windows folder of internal memory and not of storage card)
It just does...that's (one of the reasons) why many people use Resco in preference
Yep, the embeded file explorer tends to lag when it comes to large folders.
My Windows folder loads in 1 second.
May I ask how you convinced the Windows Explorer to do it that quickly?

Sweet talk...
No tweaks applied though.
Strange, my HD2 takes ages to open the Windows folder (almost one minute). As somebody already mentioned, Resco does it in a few seconds.
widows explorer takes only a second to load
Chaps,
The speed at which explorer loads the files depends on how many applications you have installed and how old your installation is. The older the installation the more dirty and polluted it is, slowing down explorer.
If you hard reset and then immediately load up explorer you will find that it will fly. Start loading up apps and using it on a daily basis and speed of access rapidly deteriorates.
Hope this helps.
WB
PS: Oh, and if the installation is dirty and you have stacks of apps open in memory when you open explorer then that just makes things a whole lot worse.....

That's something else
In short, don't sort. Set the sort key to its standard and loading goes faster.
To make the windows folder open in a second, just....
1) get the folder to open
2) then change the sort to "name"
Next time you go to the windows folder it will load in a second!
1. Enable Hidden Default Games
Go to the Windows directory and copy bubblebreaker.exe and solitaire.exe to the games folder as shortcuts in Windows\Start Menu. Make sure to unhide system files on the device to see the games listed.
I have done all that but games still do not show in PROGRAMS.Did i miss something?
heh, i'll be honest, I never got that 'tip' to work either, but many people have so i guess it must be true....

Try copying the .ink files (solitaire.Ink & BubbleBreaker.Ink) from My Device/Windows in My Device/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Games. After that you should be able to see the games in the games tab (from Manila- Start/Games).
what on earth is Manila?
After copying the files in the way i told you, go to your home screen and pres Start then Games. I guess you know this: in order to be able to see this files in Windows director you must unhide them ( in file explorer pres menu then ''Show All Files'')

Manila is the interface you see on your HD2. It more or less successfully covers the Windows Mobile underneath.
I didn't have any problem with this tip. I did the following:
1. Run Start/file Explorer
2. Go to My device/Windows folder
3. Press slider and drag it down to "B". Find Bubblebreaker.exe
There are four files with that name. Find the largest one./Press and hold on it to bring up the menu. / Press "Copy".
4. Go to My device/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Games
5. Press and hold anywhere to bring out menu. / press "paste as shortcut".
6. Repeat the same with "Solitare".
It should work now.
Thanks my friend.I have got it.
Just recieved my new HD2 a few days ago.
Almost immideatly I realized that I've been tricked into buying a useless piece of plastic!!!
NO JAWBREAKER GAME!!!!
This is nothing short of a disaster. I've been a jawbreaker addict since I bought my first wimo phone 6 years ago (hp ipaq hw6115).
Is there a place I can download the original jawbreaker game (googling this only gave em a bunch of unattractive clones)?
It should be there. On my HD2 there was no Jawbreaker in the games option but i found it hiding in Windows through file explorer. Note that the name has changed to bubble breaker.

Good find. I was kind of unpleased with it not being there too, but it was definitely NOT going to make me not want this device.
Now how can I put it where it should be---------> in the games category? This is the US release, if it matters.

Go into the Windows directory and touch and hold the bubble breaker icon
when the option window opens click "Copy".... go find the games folder and touch and hold anywhere in the folder and click "Paste shortcut" when the options list opens.
Now you have a shortcut to the game in your games folder.....

once the bubble breaker short cut is located (under Windows waaaaaay down the list)
1: Tap and hold
2: Select copy
3: Go waaaay back up to Start menu Folder/Programs/Games
4: Tap and hold on any white area of the screen
5: Select paste
hope this helps others with this issue
