KMyMoney for Android - Beta testers needed - Android Software Development

I have been working on a port of the popular KDE personal finance application KMyMoney to Android. It has finally reached a very stable phase in development and I am looking for some testers. If anyone is interested leave a post here or drop me a PM and I will get you the download link for the betas.
There are a few significant limitations of the port so far and the largest one is that it will only work with sqlite3 databases right now. It has also been translated to German and I am looking for anyone else interested in translating it to any other languages.
Thanks everyone!
Eric

Hi Guys.

Hi guys,i am new on this forum.I know how root-unlock bootloader-flash custom kernel et.c.I am searching for a team to make a Custom Rom.I got plenty free time.Feel Free post here or PM me .Have a nice day.BTW call me George
George, in order to make a custom ROM you also need to have special coding knowledge.
Pretty much everybody can do those things you said but you don't see a new ROM from everybody here.
You gotta learn programming first.

Hmmm.I know that i need a coding knowledge. But i don't know from were to start.I don't know which programming language i need learn.C++ VB or what?A link could be useful too.
Start by making simple apps. The language required for that is Java. Go to YouTube and search for a channel with the name "thenewboston". You'll find there great tutorials. Watch and learn the Java tutorials first then the Android tutorials.
Good luck!

Thank You mate.I am going start learning Java.Java is hard language?
Not really...it's pretty much like a human language. There are languages that completely freak you out!
Sent from my E15i using XDA
I know.Like C++ and C#
I know, like, 1% of whole Java.

Oh So...I got a lot of work
you can even watch stanford program methodology from youtube....i learnt java from there....
try watching markana tutorials....they give u an insight on android internals....

Dev wanted

Okay, I have been around the forums and contributed to roms here and there. I am wanting to learn more development. The mods I have made have had there place but I want to build my own rom for both my own personal use, and to share with the community.
That being said, I have a lot to learn. I am looking for a dev who is willing to conspire on a little project I want to do. Help me learn the things I need to know to finish this project I have started. I will not attempt to take full credit for what comes of this. Proper credit will be given to those who assist. Especially being I am lacking a lot of knowledge.
If anyone is interested, please pm me. If not, I'm sure in due time I will figure it out. I would appreciate any help that anyone is willing to provide. Thank you to our great devs for keeping our devices alive for so long! I am hoping to contribute to the longevity of our devices as well!

I'd love to start learning, but seems every time I ask about where to start I get either ignored or told to use Google. Lol
I've got lots of windows knowledge, training, etc. But Linux is like a foreign language.
Where can I look to start playing other than a kitchen, that's not development.

Check out google aosp ans github and tge google android developers site. Read some of the guides on here. Start small...work on theming an apk...then modding apks...then system mods...then go to roms. If ur looking for apk dev tgen tgere are sites to help but a lot of that takes a ton of reading with trial and error

:what: lol thanks
I didn't think I was going to read a few paragraphs an be able to build a rom. I took 2 years of c++ and Java, I know how much a hassle coding can be.
So many times I'd click compile and it'd throw 3000+ errors from a comma placement.
At least I got a direction. Thanks papa! I love your mighty smurf! It kicks ass

No. some of them might come with Chinese input, but most likely they don't. but here is a great alternative keyboard which does support chinese input. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cootek.smartinputv5&hl=en it has chinese pinyin as well as stoke.
press the thanks button if you find this helpful!
One more question (sorry), I was under the impression that all android devices has ability to read/identify non English languages (just to read them not type them), is that right?
Thanks again

That's right. It can display non English just fine!

most stock roms support just about all common languages, including chinese. but if you install a different rom, say miui, some language might get disabled. but needless to worry, 99% of the roms out there does support chinese.
Thanks guys!

Searching for Testers and Translators

Hi,
it would be great if someone could test my new webapp LinXXer on a firefox smartphone, because i could test it on the firefox emulator only.
The App can be used to encrypt and decrypt messages and send them by mail.
I need to know if the app is running fast enough on real firefox smartphones.
The webapp (beta) can be started from linxxer.com.
Sorry, i can't post a link here, because i have no rights for that. Just open the webpage.
LinXXer is still in development. If you find bugs please report them to me.
The app includes a function to create translation packages (setup->language).
I am looking for a native english speaker who is interested to rework the actual english translation.
The app is free, so i can't pay anything for your support, but those who create a new language pack will be listed in the language menu
which makes them part of the app project.
Berni
Did you get someone that help you to test your app?

I'll do it. I have a business-oriented Bachelor's degree from a major U.S. university. I've done well with spelling and grammar since I was a child. Also, I really enjoy proofreading. Seriously.
Do you prefer UK English or US English? My native is US, though I also have experience with UK, which is more common internationally.
