Hey guys,
I was thinking of selling my Note to by a Nexus (i won it, anyway ) but then i thought, i just have to root it and then wait for CyanogenMod 9 as i just LOVE the size of this thing
Then today was just wanting to check if there is any news, progress or anything about the Note and was really shocked that the al-powerful Note is NOT listed ANYWHERE in Cyanogen site!! Does that mean it's not supported?
I really love CyanogenMod with my old phones and was really keen to have that in this beast hardware!!
Please tell me that i'm missing something and that it's supported!!
It's just impossible for me to live with Samsung's UI and development section doesn't seem as active as the one of my old phone (few users of the phone?) and don't get me wrong Devs, we can't live without you but i mean the sales and support of this phone isn't as i expected for such legendary hardware!!

One day My xperia Arc was not listed on cyanogen mod website, at next day there was a beta STABLE release even with camera working.
So you know, hacksung team and cyanogen are working on CM9 for all devices so dont expect CM7 on the note
I got bored to death with CM ages ago so it doesn't bother me, but I know people do like it, and... I want this to sell, so I do hope CM materalizes on the Note.
It's being worked on by Team Hacksung. It wouldn't even need to be supported by CM as it's the equivalent to the iPad; a giant SGS2.
Oh Cool, Thanks a lot guys... i can mange the time being without CM7 but i just couldn't have handled the missing of CM9 ... thanks for the great news
Well, nine months ago I got the Galaxy Tab P1010, WiFi model. In this time, I was looking for a cheap tablet, and bought this. Two, three months later I was looking for an update, to Gingerbread (the lastest android in this time, because Samsung said no to honeycomb).
I didn't found. But on semptember, a tweet said that Gingerbread was coming in few weeks, wow, I was very excited, soo I waited... On 15st of octuber, ICS is launched, W-O-W. I was surprised by a very, very, very pretty Android.
In this time I was hoping for Samsung(lol), but, some weeks later, the surprise: Just the dual-core tablet will got.
But, I said: Oh no, but maybe someone on XDA will do this ROM, because the android 4 is open source.
November I installed the gingerbread by SamFirmwares, it was good but ICS is better! So, this time, I went on the forums searching and searching.
On december enough project was lauched, so I start to do a idiot thing: Ask for someone do the ROM, I learned the lesson(uff.).
In january, I saw a topic called for: Cyanongemod 7.2 and 9 for p1010. When I saw I think that was another guy asking if is disponible an update, but, was Motafoca saying that will do this. Wow! I spend months and months being a tester with PSO. It was nice, but who saids that it will be soo hard? Motafoca said that is the most difficult work on develop.
But, all this experience make me fell like a idiot. Why? Because Samsung launched Galaxy Tab 2, for the same price but with dual-core and honeycomb. Just Motafoca is working on this now, and... the question:
Do you, p1010 user, fell this way too?

wow, you seriously just said exactly what i feel since the moment i got my p1010. Samsung doesn't port ics to older devices, it just makes new devices so you HAVE to buy their products! and i really appreciate Motafoca for what he's doing for our near forgotten tab! no matter it's taking this long, but i believe he will give us a working cm7 in a few months! thanks for this thread samcortez!

And no Value Pack for us.
Picked up a Galaxy Tab about 3 weeks ago! But the touch screen started to freeze last night! So got a refund from Asda and just pre ordered a Galaxy Tab 2 from Carphone Warehouse for the same price I paid at Asda!
Even with the New one being released! Would have still been quite happy with the old one, if not for the fault!

I'm happy with my tab too (except for freezing, looks like a phone, lagg of support etc....) but i don't want to buy a new device each time there's an android update, i just want to use 1 device for a long time WITH new firmwares. even the very first android device (i think the htc one) got an update quite fast after the release of ics. and this new tab ran on froyo till just a few weeks ago. im just feeling fooled by samsung by buying this device

I really hate.
Why Samsung doesn't respect us?
Derp
This is the trend for all consumer electronic devices from all manufacturers. Nothing surprising at all.

Well, i felt this way too after the first two weeks where u get good support from samsung, but after they treat u like dirt. And thats why we came to a much better and faster supporting update platform, called XDA Developers!
I dont give a **** on samsung and its updates, i got two samsung tablets p1000 running aokp #B36 and p6200(7.0 plus) with 3.2 stock.
So guess which one is running really smoother with more features?
Of Course my p1000 with aokp!!! Just to mention that the p6200 is actually double fast in hardware specs..
Guys, we got devs who really care, samsung is not even worth this post...

It is samsung following Motorola steps.
It's just frustrating as really love my tab just wish there was some more devs working on it. I don't have the time to go near this kind of project myself.
Hehe my coding is even more rusty than my tab. But now prestigo are selling ics tabs for under €200 and spec is similar to our tab. Grrrrrr

I got a Tab 7.0 plus. Nice device too but the same freakin bad support.. and we got only 1 active developing thread.. bad luck, i guess...

Do you feel notable speed improvement over the original gtab with ics?
Hi Guys,
SamMobile Tweet Samsung has stopped developement for the Galaxy SII and Galaxy Note.. No Android update
Oh well, kinda expected for this to happen.
Unfortunately with the Exynos code unavailable, most likely community development will also die down bit by bit.
What we want is an OFFICIAL statement regarding the issue, not this.
Sammobile was the one to say that 4.2.2 would be last on s2.
Now they say something different
My point - dun try until its official
I doubt the thieves and liars over at Samsung will even have the balls to post an official statement. They will just remain silent.
But we will remember this. 4.2 came out on 13 November 2012. 4.2.2 on 11 February 2013. So NOT #2years.
SGS IV now out, what you expected?! They should develop new software for new phones and new phones. I know SGS II the most complete phone in the world (in my opinion) but this is business
Waiting for my Nexus 7 2013 to arrive and i'll keep my SGS2 only for phone calls, sms and tehering to N7 if needed. Then i'll wait for Nexus 5 or something similar. Never going to buy a Samsung device again.
Even if they did, it could be that theyll release exynos source code now..
Costum Roms where better anyway

They had to explain why Galaxy S wasn't getting ICS:
Official statement:
http://samsungtomorrow.com/2043
Some translation on
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_explains_why_galaxy_s_and_tab_70_wont_get_android_ics-news-3567.php
So they will have to jump on and explain the issue if Galaxy SII is staying on 4.1.2. Honestly, any reason they could give will be ridiculous and they will probably damage their image more in terms of money that what they would waste developing a 4.3 update and stopping there.
Also, actually both Galaxy SII and Nexus S started on 2.3 and Nexus S died on 4.1.2. If Galaxy SII gets abandoned at 4.1.2 also, Samsung will lose a great chance to overcome a Nexus in terms of updates (and if Samsung seeks for something, its for statements such as those).
In any logical terms killing Galaxy S2 would damage Samsung for than updating it..
I think that after finding all the bugs on there HW, couple of mounth ago, they won't publish there cpu code because there must be so much holes ' bus and traps that there reputaion will damge even more
Well it was nice while it lasted. I'm grateful to Gokhanmoral, Chainfire, the Cyanogenmod team and all the other dedicated developers that enriched our SII experience for these past two years.
With the promising Nexus 5 around the corner I'll be looking forward to see more from y'all!
If Samsung don't release a new update for S2, they will buy more new devices. It is all about business not because our S2 isn't capable to run (4.3). I think Nexus is a best alternative to Samsung.
Couldn't understand

There is lots of 4.4 roms in the forum. are they fake. i'm using one of them and it works flawles... So i think MY SGS2 IS CAPABLE OF 4.4 :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
I really don't care as long as they provide exynos documentation for the devs at XDA. Already running 4.4.2 without their help. Will keep it till it boots for the last time even if development stops.

It's very stable, great performance and good batt life ... Try it yourself and see
No real surprise there.
Tell us what do you like and dislike personally about your phone, I don't care what it may be. Let us know how much you love or hate your Galaxy Grand.
I personally like the fact that I can flash a good amount of custom ROMs on it despite it's Broadcom SoC
[Shamelessly copied from @Braxton355's thread]
I think i am fortunate enough to have a grand with me ...especially coming from my very loyal 4 yrs old Nokia E5 ( still going strong )...i was into some model of micromax which went down within the night of purchase...and next morning ...i had replaced that with this device....having a friend of mine with his defy and its custom roms ( actually defy was the first to have a kitkat aosp..as far as i remember...)...i was into xda within months of purchase and have never looked back.
with the mammoth effort of our respected developers...see this device has so many kernels and roms and such active threads....i must take this opp. to say a big thumbs up to everyone here........:good::good::good::good::good:
likes : - battery back up ..is always good... with stock rom also....( although i have never used dual sim till date )
dislike....i wish the front cam could have been better..
I had first a Wellcom A88 with luckily had great DEV support as the company already stopped updating after one update
After that I bought a HTC Sensation and the same happened and it was still a great phone thanks to the DEV.
This year I wanted to buy an Oppo N1 but I found it to big when I saw it.
So I decided for a Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, but I first checked XDA and saw the DEV support for the Grand Duos was better.
So I bought The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos and 5 minutes later I was sitting at starbucks across the Samsung store and lost my warranty as I rooted it and flashed it right away.
One thing I like is that the stock camera app is really good. Unfortunately CM11 camera app is not as good. Its the one thing I liked about the stock rom. Otherwise, the number of roms is also lot and it has a lot of dev support.
