I love the photo sphere feature. But am struggling how to figure out how to Change it with fancy effects like a globe. Saw a video where he did a photo sphere and made it look like it was on a globe type of thing? I hope someone knows what I mean ?? Sorry hard to explain it.

After the picture is rendered... there should be a globe thingy on bottom right...while in gallery.
Thanks for the reply, but I don't mean that, its called planet view the following video shows what i mean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUZzeAqImsM
Middle does the scroll around picture, right is where you can do the globe picture thing.
I know, but look more into the video, there is a nice feature where he clicks button and makes it fish eye an other effects
anyone?
this is a stand alone application demo from another company, its not actually in the Nexus 4, if you notice that guy is using a galaxy nexus doing a software demo.
i dont think google has implemented anything except the panorama stuff.
I hope the feature comes to the nexus 4 would be awesome.

Yep, its just the gallery preloading the pics.
The new model of google smartphone.
they wirte on the selling page"Amazing Photo Sphere camera you’ll have to see to believe.
The first phone with 360° panoramas.
It’s like no camera you’ve ever seen. Up down and all around you, with Nexus 4 it’s more than panoramic, it’s like you’re actually there."
and can anyone show more about the : 360° panoramas about this phone
Check out some examples on Google+: https://plus.google.com/photos/110023707389740934545/albums/5808606988734372865
The images are only a 360°C sphere when uploaded onto Google+, on all other occasions they're just flat huge panorama-like photo's, made of 20+ photo's stitched together.
Has anyone actually managed a perfect picture using this 360 camera app?
If you check those examples. https://plus.google.com/photos/110023707389740934545/albums/5808606988734372865/5815232959605498370
This one ^ This is the similar to the result I get though mine are much worse. The bits where the parts don't match or doubled up....
When I shot a photoshere, it worked in my mobile but when I shared it to Google+, it was like just a photo, without sphere button on it. How did you do it? , sorry for the dumb question.

It's easy to get perfect if you shoot landscapes. I've got some great ones while hiking/snowshoeing. Close up objects are difficult to get right. There is a thread around here somewhere with tips on how to improve your shots. The tip I remember is to keep the phone in the same place in space and rotate it rather than you to get the shot.

This app right here. Has a bunch of awesome shots.

since asking the question I have taken quite a few of these Even on Googles how to take them decribes the camera as not being able to do close objects or people. Then I realised it wasn't me messing up

Yes, I completed the shot. It works in Gallery and if I copy it to PC and upload to G+ it works too. Dunno what went wrong with either Gallery or G+ in my mobile that prevented me from doing just that.

To get a perfect shot you need to rotate the phone about the lens, and not your body. Now do you see the problem? It's pretty much impossible to achieve without external devices.

It may have been more clear what he was replying to if he quoted the post but the point is far from nonsense seeing as it's completely true. The only way to achieve a perfect photosphere is to use the camera lens as the centre of the panorama and rotate the device around that point.
I have quite a few perfect 360° shots by rotating myself not the phone.

You can take some very good photo sphere by rotating your body, but they won't be "perfect" because you are using your body as the axis instead of the camera lens. When you view a photo sphere, you are viewing it from the center point of the sphere. If you used your body as the axis, there is going to be small amount of stretching because the photos are taken at a distance from the center point of the sphere.

Are you talking about the mini planet ones or the 360° ones?
Here's one I did rotating my body ad the axis, seems pretty close to perfect I can get.

Can someone recommend me a really good camera app which I can use instead of the stock app? I have used Camera Zoom but that somehow cuts my photos from the corners when the front cam is used.
I am primarily looking for a camera app with a timer...which it seems isn't included in our stock camera.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

I quite like Snap Camera.

If you want full control of camera parameters, I recommend Camera FV-5.
I use Shot Control, because it has full exposure controls:
- Multiple Touch Focus/Meter regions on ICS (on supported devices with Android 4.0)
- Direct access to exposure control and zoom
- One tap access to ISO, White Balance, Scene Modes, Focus Modes, and Flash Mode Settings (based on device abilities)
- Custom mapping for hardware buttons (like volume down for focus, volume up for shutter)
- Pre-focus function
It's built for photographers who know how to manipulate DSLRs.
I don't think it has a timer, though, but the Dev is super responsive so I'm sure if you requested it, he'd add it.
ProCapture Pro has it all.

I am using Shot Control. If you are looking for an app that takes perfect shots with just one click, this may not be for you.
I'm telling you all, try ProCapture. Best camera app available.

Snapseed (editing app, NIK EFEX(professional photo editing too for photoshop) for Android, Google bought them.): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.niksoftware.snapseed
It has a center blur setting that you can drop anywhere on the photo and change the blur around it. Also, it's free.
Don't know if anyone still comes in this section. I was a former note 7 owner and now I have a note 8. I like the new note but it's missing an app that came on the 7. It was a photo app that you could take a picture and place a pic inside and also you could put banners on the picture.
So wondering if anyone knows the name as I believe Samsung made it. Or anyone have an apk file they can post here

When you say "place a picture inside" do you mean taking a photo then for exampme, adding a picture of yourself within that photo? If so, search the Note 8 forums for Dual Camera.
